Review Body: Bali Eco Stay is a truly beautiful place located in the central mountain region of Bali. We stayed there for 5 nights in April and absolutely loved it.
The staff are all so lovely, from the kitchen staff who prepare the fantastic food and will take care of anything you need, to Keduk and the gardeners who are always up for a chat and will show you round the extensive operation they have going on, where they grow a lot of the food on the menu.
We stayed in the Waterfall apartment (pictures below) which had great views of the rice padis and as its name suggests, is right by the waterfall. The rooms are open air (so roof but no windows) and if you like the sound of rain when you go to sleep then this is place for you :) We expected things to be a little more buggy than it actually was - keep your repellant on (great natural stuff is supplied by them) and your mozzie net down at night and it's no different to anywhere else out in the balinese countryside.
There are a few good walks you can do without a guide, but I really recommend getting at least one of the guided hikes if you like a good walk. You'll go through the villages and through the stunning rice padis that are on par with the UNESCO Jatiluwih rice terraces.
They offer a few crafty activities with the local people from the village - kite, flute, offering making etc, and cooking classes with the staff, but for us mainly this place is all about being amongst nature, hiking or mooching about the local area, going for a swim at the waterfall and feeling like part of the Eco Stay family. Friends are easily made with staff and other guests and after a day or two it just feels like this magical little world which we didnt want to leave!
The food was always amazing, and we had a great time chatting with John, Eco Stay's lovely owner, at dinner in the evenings.
Can't recommend this place enough :)

Review Body: I absolutely love this place! I live in Ubud and have visited many places in Bali but this has to be my favourite spot. The perfect escape from the crowded towns of Bali. As soon as you arrive, this wonderful sense of calm washes over you. The view of the rice field as you enter took my breath away...and then i saw the sunset over the other rice terraces on the far end of the property and i felt like i was in heaven! I stayed there on my own for some well needed time of reflection and self care. I couldn't have imagined a better place. I more or less kept to myself and felt as though the whole place was mine to explore - which was perfect. And i was able to meet the other guests briefly in the dining room. It such a large property that it's easy to keep to yourself. I spent time exploring the waterfalls and natural pool and had them all to myself. The food was incredible...healthy and super tasty and the staff were so warm, friendly and attentive. I extended my stay and had a late check out and they were more than accommodating. Other favourite things about this place include: how fresh the air felt up there, the slightly cooler climate, the sounds of wild life, the clean water, the star gazing, the open air room that felt like you were sleeping in nature, the many places to explore around the property, the amazing massage, the attention to detail (like the little pen reading light in the room) and the welcoming family like vibe in the dining room. I can't wait to come back here...both on my own and with friends and family. This place perfectly encapsulates everything i love about Bali!

Review Body: I almost didn't even want to share my review about this little hidden paradise. Lol! I want to keep it all for myself but after having the best vacation we've ever had, I owe this great review to the owners and their incredible staff. My husband and I have traveled all over and this was hands down the most amazing experience we've ever had. It's such a breath of fresh air (literally) to get away from the city and all the traffic hustle and bustle. If you've been searching for the secluded, peaceful, paradise that you've always dreamed about and seen in photos this is it. The open air, over the water bungalows are just perfect. Spacious, clean bathrooms- complete with eco friendly bath products, plush towels, and beautiful robes. Comfy beds, sofas, and pillows with fresh smelling bedding. Views in every direction that take your breath away. Privacy and space from the few neighboring bungalows. Plenty of private swimming spots and even a private waterfall that is one of the most stunning we have seen. The grounds here have so much to offer- fresh foods gardens, a yoga den, open air restaurant and massage area, rice fields, a forest garden, and hikers galore. Now for the best part- the owner and the staff are so friendly, accommodating, and pleasant in each and every way. They really go out of their way to provide beyond 5 star service with a smile. We cannot thank them all enough for making our last week in Bali one of the best times we've ever had. The food- OMG...just come experience for yourself. I promise you will not have an ounce of disappointment here. We will definitely be back!

Review Body: Bali Eco Stay is honestly the most amazing location to hold a retreat. Nestled in the mountains of Bali, it is far from the main tourist locations and we had the exclusive use of the whole resort, which meant the whole space to OURSELVES.
Leading a women's retreat here was a blissful experience for myself, and the ladies who joined. They were instantly blown away by the mountain views, the clean jungle air, the water that you can drink STRAIGHT FROM THE TAP (because it is straight from the pristine spring) and the permaculture gardens made our meals incredible nourishing.
The staff felt like family, being so supporting and caring towards each and every person. The rooms are spacious and have private gardens, and we were so happy to just sit and watch the trees! Knowing how happy my guests were simply being here made the rest of the retreat flow blissfully, as they were in such a nurturing environment where nature embraced us and allowed us to flow with her.
The waterfall on site was an amazing place for the daily practice for us to swim, play and cleanse, and the surrounding walks around the rice terraces and through the villages gave us a real taste of the untouched side of Bali that many people travelling here rarely witness.
I loved it so much, and the retreat was such a success that I have already booked in 2 more next year!

Review Body: We stayed all over Bali for 2-months and this was hands down our best stay!
I hosted a 7-day retreat here and the service for myself and guests was amazing. They were really accommodating for all of our needs. The staff was super friendly, and the guides were great. We did a few different workshops and treks and they were all great experiences. They have WiFi in all the bungalows and it worked well for when I needed to get some work done on my laptop.
They had everything needed for our movement sessions in the yoga bale and the surrounding environment. The two waterfalls nearby provided refreshment when it was hot, and a good wake up in the mornings since the water was cool. ;)
The food was amazing, really big servings, and top quality ingredients. We had to split a dinner one night, just so we could try one of there desserts (so good!) It was nice to have the tour of their food garden, to see their permaculture process, and where the majority of the food we were eating was coming from.
Love how everything they do is eco-friendly. They're truly supporting the planet we live on and keeping Bali beautiful.
It's the best waking up with the sun surrounded by serene nature every day, and sleeping to the sounds of the water every night. Highly recommend this place

Review Body: I had the honour of staying here for 6 days and I can't recommend it enough!
Johnny and all the staff were wonderful. So helpful and accommodating!
The food is absolutely incredible! The Nasi Campur is the best I've had in Bali.
They grow their own vegetables in the gargen and have the happiest chickens I've ever seen!
The location is stunning, surrounded by picturesque rice paddies and remote jungle. It's so peaceful, the perfect place to escape from the chaos of the more touristic areas of Bali. There are great nature walks and beautiful waterfalls nearby, perfect for an afternoon dip.
The bungalows are open plan and over looking the jungle. The beds all come with mosquito nets and are super comfortable. I had the best sleeps here! And you can even drink the tap water from your bathroom!
I had a tour in the garden with Kadek learning all about how they grow all the organic food for the kitchen. And I even tried fresh cacao right from the tree!
I also had the chance to see how they make their traditional offerings, and Kakek made me a handmade bamboo flute!
This place really is magical, offering a truly unique experience, it's now my favourite place to stay in Bali, and I'll definitely be back again soon.

Review Body: This place blew me away immediately & kept enchanting me. When we arrived I told my husband, “This is why we came to Bali.” Our bungalow overlooked the stunning waterfall on one side, rice terraces on the other side, and jungle all around us.
The staff were warm, accommodating, and always smiling. John, one of the owners, took extra time to meet & sit down with us.
The food was fresh, healthy, and delicious. The homemade bread, the spring rolls, the satay platter were especially memorable. (We recommend you save room for the sticky date cake after all the organic salad!)
We enjoyed one of the guided walks to learn about the local community, the ecosystem, & the large garden. We played in the waterfall, lounged on our deck, & got massages. I took advantage of the well-equipped yoga bungalow for a meditative yoga practice.
I hope to return to this magical place.
FYI, if you need climate control or get freaked out by creep crawlies, this is not the place for you. This is a nature immersion experience.

Review Body: This place is incredible- It's like stepping into a enchanted magical land. The rooms are so creative and lovingly designed with a heartfelt consideration to all details. The open designs of the bungalows, restaurant and yoga studio open out into the majestic surrounding so you can be immersed in the natural wonders of the Balinese jungle landscape while being snug and comfortable in cosy beautiful spaces- you fall asleep to the sounds of the jungle, waterfalls, crickets. It is so special. The food is incredible and comes lovingly prepared by the wonderful staff, most of the ingredients sourced from the on site gardens. Its hard to find anywhere where you can get fresher or more wholesome meals then here. If you are looking for a place to totally drop in and find sanctuary from the stresses of modern life- then there is nowhere more perfect then here. I can't wait to come back!

Review Body: "Ali eco-today is a wonderful retreat you order your mealahead so They can pick vegetables fresh”
Great attentive staff. Had a yoga instructor for yoga lessons for the week. Their own exstensive veggie and herb garden for all meals. Accomodation views and comfort were amazing. Massage was to die for. My girlfriend who is a masseuse high end clientele in New York also agreed. Iam achef so if you are expecting high end favours don't. Because food is beautiful simplistic and sop so so fresh. meals Salads and drinks are awesome.all out of the garden You can swim in waterfalls or streams all the water is drinkable rare for Bali. This place is a healthy tropical paradise. Should be called Bali Eco retreat. Wonderful place. Only negative is take your own coffee they need to use plungers as ground local coffee is poured Into cup and you get a thick sludge on bottom of cup.

The location, the Harvest Bungalow and the wonderful staff
We could not fault this resort, we stayed for 2 nights but wish we could have stayed longer. Everything we needed was provided, nothing has been overlooked. The view from our bungalow was of the rice paddies and from the restaurant you could see the ocean. Everything on the website is just as it is . Because of the remoteness you could only eat at the resort restaurant and the food was fresh and delicious. All the staff are so helpful and attentive. We can not recommend this resort highly enough. It is totally self sufficient which also makes it very special. We will be encouraging all our friends to stay there. It had the best wifi that we have had all thru our trip. Even when the power was of for a few hours thru the afternoon it was great to sit back and watch the storm roll thru.

Review Body: Bali Eco Stay, so glad we discovered this little gem. This is my 6th trip to Bali and I’ve stayed at some pretty cool places, like Alila in Uluwatu, and the Westin in Seminyak.
It’s completely different as this place is what bali would have been like 20 years ago. It’s a 2 star hotel but who cares when you’re surrounded by 5 star jungle and the best drinking water in Indonesia, you are served the most amazing organic food from the permaculture garden. This place is a must if you want to relax and get transported to a magical place away from the hustle and bustle. I love how you have to pre order all your meals, it makes sense as there is little waste and the food comes out quickly and tastes amazing.
Great value highly recommend the rice water bungalow for three nights. Enjoy!!

Review Body:
I have been living in Bali for over a year and this was the most beautiful place I’ve stayed so far. Our room had a view of the a waterfall- we were completely surrounded by nature. If you want the combination of luxury and nature, this is the place. The bungalow is open in all the right places and private in all the right places. The soap in the bathroom is delightful. The food at the restaurant is delicious - the food is grown on site and all organic. The staff are so accommodating and polite. I enjoyed 2 hikes from there - the red walk is a must see - where some of Bali’s most gorgeous rice fields can be viewed as well as another waterfall. The water at both waterfalls were cool and more clean than any I’ve see yet. I highly recommend it. I will go again.

Review Body: Don’t know where to begin with since everything was splendid. First of all don’t let the bad comments fool you. Everything is amazing. Environment, food, people. People are so nice and helpful in here so we wanna thank each and every soul who works and helped us in here! My only concern was mosquitoes( since they adore me) but as long as you close the net it’s under control. You have to accept the fact that you’re in a natural environment which is normal to have flies, insects etc. If I have to complain( btw I LOVE kids) please do not bring your small kids to a peaceful, tranquil environment like this. To sum up, you will be having your life time experience if you come to Bali Ecostay. We loved it here, hope to see you again!

Review Body: The scenery, staff, and food here were amazing. Almost all the food cooked in the kitchen was grown on the premises, and prepared spectacularly. The garden of organic fresh foods was truly special. Our bungalow (the Waterfall Bungalow) was so cool. It overlooks a waterfall, jungle, and beautiful rice patties simultaneously. The soothing sound of the waterfall is VERY relaxing. If you are looking for a secluded place with local people, delicious food, and breathtaking scenery, Bali Eco Stay is somewhere you should stay. If you want to stay in civilization with a variety of restaurants or bars, then this is probably not the place you are looking for.
P.S. Totally worth the price😊👍

Review Body: This place is unbelievable!!
I went there for Mimi’s yoga retreat and fell in love with this place. The food was amazing, every single dish. I had to do a cooking class to learn how to replicate it :)
The fresh ingredients from their garden are fabulous. I‘m a home gardener, but learned a lot from the tour we did through the retreat.
The surroundings is great. You can swim in a natural pool, shower under a waterfall or soak in nature pure while doing one of the walks.
The staff is super friendly and helpful and the massages I did where great.

Review Body: This was my third stay at Bali Eco stay. I refer to it as " my happy place". I dream of getting back there as soon as I can. You will find few more beautiful natural environments on earth. But the icing on the cake is the welcome and the food. I was particularly impressed with the new menu. The food was good before but now it is next level. The wonderful hosts and all of the staff make you feel at home right away. And never forget, that this one of the few places in Where you can drink clean spring water from the tap. Heaven. Back soon.

Review Body: Two words - stay here!! Absolutely magical. Had the most relaxing time at this place and 5 days was not long enough!! Our bungalow was so beautiful with incredible views, the food was delicious and so fresh! Straight from their organic garden and the staff were wonderful. In the mornings we would get up out of our bed, walk down a winding path past the rice paddies and step straight into a waterfall. If you are looking for a holiday to recharge your batteries, this is the place. Am going back!!

Review Body: My family and I have just returned from a wonderful 3 days at Bali Eco Stay. We each love that beautiful place it for so different reasons. For beautiful walks, the stunning rice field scenery, swimming under the waterfalls, the exquisite food, the wonderful bungalows (our favourite is Harvest), having the time to read and relax, the kindness of the staff and the outrageously delicious sticky date pudding. Heavenly...

Hike Bali's 2nd highest peak and get away from the tourist crowds
Most people climb Mount Batur for the sunrise photo. Very few climb Mount Batukaru, and that’s exactly why you might want to.Batukaru is Bali’s second-highest volcano, wild, misty and deeply sacred to the Balinese. Instead of crowds and jeeps, you get dense rainforest, birdsong, tree roots underfoot, and a trail that feels properly remote. It’s the kind of climb where you actually feel like you’re in nature, not on a tourist conveyor belt. This is for travellers who:Have already done Batur (or want something more meaningful)Love quiet, mossy forests and raw jungle terrainWant a proper physical challengePrefer sacred, lesser-known places over Instagram hotspotsYou’ll trek through one of Bali’s last remaining primary rainforests — thick with giant ferns and towering trees — and climb steadily up to 2,276m. The summit isn’t dramatic in a “big crater” way. It’s peaceful. Often wrapped in cloud. Sometimes opening up to sweeping views across West Bali and even Java on a clear day.
