Review Body: We were lucky enough to score Gulit who is an instructor working at this school for 20 years!!! It shows, he is kind, patient and very skilled. My 10 year old daughter had never surfed before and she was supposed to get her divers licence but due to other circumstances, could not. So we opted for some quick surfing lessons. After the time on the sand/land teaching 'get up' technique which took about 20 minutes, they headed for the waves. She literally got up on her first wave because of Gulit's training and never looked back. We originally booked a personal lesson for one hour - but we had a break then booked a second hour. She loved it so much we took her back for 2 more hours the following day. Highly recommend the school and this instructor.

Review Body: My 8 year old son (made the facebook page) and I got 5 surf lessons each during our trip to Bali this year. What a great bunch of employees at this school. I am not that confident in the open waters but they made you feel relaxed and offer great advice. They also have great judgement for the size of the waves a person at your level should be catching. They were so great with my son. I spent so much time looking around checking on him to see that the instructor was right there with him the whole time. Overall very impressed by this slick operation and the staff are a friendly bunch. We will definitely be returning in 2020

Review Body: My boys are 8 and 10. Have had little surf experiecne, they are reasonable swimming skills. I take my hat of to the staff at RCSOS. The instructors seem to LOVE their job and love teaching. They were happy, smiling, energetic and made me as a parent feel super confident that my kids are in safe hands. 4 days of surfing and my boys wanted to go back for more. thank you to the surf school for this amazing adventure and life experience. I would nearly fly the 9 hours back just to go to the surf school ;-)

Review Body: We had a great time with our instructors after finishing our yoga schooling, both made sure we were safe and informed before we head out for some waves. Our bodies were exhausted from our other training, but they also made SURE we got up on a many waves during the lesson which was a great feeling. Highly recommend this experience for beginners or more advances surfers. They tailor the experience to you and make sure above all things you have fun!

Review Body: I surfed with Ripcurl School while staying at Goddess Retreat. They picked us up from the retreat and took us to the beach which had the best conditions that day for our skill level. I had 5 lessons in six days and definitely improved my skills. Over the 5 lessons we surfed at 3 different locations because of the conditions and as we improved. I learnt a lot and now need to just practice it all. But at least now I know what I need to be doing.

Review Body: I had an amazing experience at the Rip Curl School of Surf! Everyone was very welcoming, informative and helpful. Everything was included in the price. They provided a board, booties, rash guard, boat transfer, water bottle, showers, lockers and a post surf snack. The surf instructor was super knowledgeable, spoke excellent English and made the experience unforgettable! I'll definitely be going back for more lessons to up my surf game.

Review Body: I had two beginner surf lessons in Sanur. Instructors were professional and fun, thanks guys!! I was able to catch some lovely long waves as a rank beginner out on the reef (grateful for the push offs haha) Also, I booked group lessons but ended up being the only beginner and we went out anyway, which was an unexpected bonus of private lessons. The boat rides were fun too. No I just have to go back to Sanur to do it again!

Review Body: The instructor was very patient. I had a semi private lesson with my friend. He helped us prep and stretch. We practiced getting on the board while in the sand. Then into the water where he stayed with us and guided us the entire time! My friend and I both caught waves! It was great. Then the staff even helped us get a taxi back to our hotel after we stayed local to shop and eat!

Review Body: Can't say enough about Rip Curl, they are the best. When you get out to the waves, you see their presence vs other surf schools on the beach, and rightly so...they do a great job keeping the number of instructors to students is favorable and pairing up people based their experience level! if youre going to surf and want to take lessons, Rip Curl is the way to go!

Review Body: Local instructor took 3 (52, 19, 14) of us through the essentials on understanding the beach including wearing rashies and sunscreen before coaching us on how to surf. The team must be good because we were all able to get up and ride a few waves each before the session was over. .............. then we were hooked and went back the following day.

Review Body: I had a good experience with my teenage daughter. Both enjoyed surfing and the teachers were experienced and friendly. You could get your pictures for an extra charge but would have been nice if 1-2 photos would have inluded in the package, and then a possibility to to buy all of them for an extra fee.

Review Body: I did not try any other school in Bali, but i tried a school of surf in the USA. And it cannot be compared. RipCurl overuled in ever single thing from kindness and professionality of their instructors, through safety to giving advice for individual training after the lessons. Really the best!

Review Body: 3 kids (each aged 12) and 1 adult had a lesson and absolutely loved it. I was nervous about the kids surfing on the reef but the school supplied all necessary safety gear (helmet and reed shoes) and everyone loved it. We were even given photos of the experience. Would definitely recommend.

Review Body: The first surfing lessen was great. Some theorie and than practicing in the wather. Good fibe. You get picked up at the hotel and afterwarts they bring you back. I liked it so mutch that i booked a new lessen after two days, when my mussclepain was over! I want to do it next year again.

SURFING Catching your first wave is an experience you’ll never forget, and knowing the correct technique will have you up on your feet and surfing in no time. You can choose from a range or courses all designed to improve your surfing whatever level you’re at. Our coaches will assess your ability and show you how to improve, whether it’s catching more waves, perfecting your bottom turn or faster cutbacks.From theory in the classroom to practice of the beach, our surfing syllabus covers everything you need to make the most of your surf sessions and get you stoked. LEVEL 1 - Beginner If you have never surfed before or you still consider yourself a beginner, this course will set you up with the essential knowledge. You’ll learn the art of riding ocean waves with the fundamentals to take your surfing to the next level. The course focuses on basic surfing technique, paddling, popping-up, wave riding stance, turning your board on the wave, ocean knowledge and safety. After taking this course you’ll be surfing beach break waves, feeling comfortable in the ocean and know the correct surfing etiquette.
