A really fun&nbsp;rafting&nbsp;trip! Very gentle and Wayan was a fun guide. The walk down to the&nbsp;river&nbsp;is long(350 steps). i consider myself in good shape but by the time I got to the&nbsp;river, my legs were rubber!!! The walk up is not as difficult, but my husband had a tough time as had a knee replacement 5 months prior. Sweet Wayan and another guide walked on each side of my husband and helped him all the way back to the top...they were rock stars!!! Thanks for a fun day!!!

I am so pleased that our driver organised this trip, had I known at the beginning about the stairs from hell to walk up at the end I would have said no way. I am fit and excercise five times a week, but blow me down I have short legs! There was a walk down to the river, steep at times but you have your oar to help as the carved steps are uneven.

The rafting was amazing and our guide was funny and we got to do a few extra things as only the three of us in the boat.

You stop about 2/3rds through for a beer, juice or whatever then in arrive at the river base.

To my shock horror, after walking up the initial steps we came to a field and we were looking up at a cliff face with a winding track and steps to get to the top. EEK!

All would be fine if I had long legs, but these steps are high, so forever struggling to put one foot up in front of the other. I have no idea how some of the older over 60's people got up at all.

We arranged the&nbsp;rafting&nbsp;through our lovely taxi driver for 250k IDR per person. It was great value for a half day&nbsp;rafting&nbsp;plus a basic lunch buffet (rice or noddle with chicken). Their office is located a short Scotter (20mins) from Ubud. Once you arrive you can keep your belongings in a locker or bring your phones in the guides waterproof bag. You will then proceed on a long scenic walk down to the valley to the river, be prepared for lots of steps.

During the trip you pass through stunning scenery with monkey crossings above, hindu wall carvings and waterfalls.

Our guide was brilliant from start to finish. the&nbsp;river&nbsp;has some rapids but they are not to severe we were over taking other boats and having splashing wars with the other rafts and our guide had the kids chanting which they loved. I would definitely recommend.

We were picked up from our accom and taken to the&nbsp;rafting&nbsp;headquarters, had 1.5 hours on the water, then driven back to headquarters for a buffet lunch before being driven back to our accom. For 3 of us this cost NZD 90, amazing value. The&nbsp;river&nbsp;was beautiful, high walls covered in jungle foliage. The water wasn’t too deep and we got stranded a few times but our guide saw us right. And there were a few hairy rapids. We did stop for very expensive drinks at one point (NZD5 for one coconut) but given the overall value we sucked that up. Highly recommended!

The walk to the starting point is quite a nice trek through rice fields and jungle so it is a nice way to start the experience. Our guide had a good sense of humour and made the experience even more enjoyable. See rock carvings along the&nbsp;river, stop at a water fall and slide down a dam. Lunch is quite tasty too. Buffet style with lots of vegetarian options. Would definitely recommend. Be warned though, we did see some people struggling on the stairs to get back up at the end.

You will definitelly get wet, and by wet I mean dripping water from your waist down (at least), so go in a swuimsuit and bring a change of clothes (leave them in the lockers at the facility). For those wearing glasses - the guide gives you a rubber band to make them sit on your face with no risk of falling off. Contact lenses are better as you get drenched and go under some waterfalls. There is also a pretty long walk down the stairs to the&nbsp;river&nbsp;and back up. Tje views from the&nbsp;river&nbsp;are amazing. All in all - a great time out. Would do it again any time.

The trip itself is a must do in Ubud with stunning views of the rainforest river Ayung with lush greenery and breathtaking stone carvings done on the bank. Angus and Neki made it even more fun with their various fun tactics.

The steps down to the raft and the return journey too have fantastic views. We did it with a 6 year old and he too thoroughly enjoyed it.
