Review Body: The Mt. Batur trek on the 3rd of April 2017 was an event I will never forget and here’s why: I was picked up from my hotel at 0300 and was driven to the base camp where we were served Balinese coffee, met some of the other trekkers and then we were distributed food packs and water, a flashlight, and assigned a guide. There were 5 of us + Dewata who was our guide. Shortly after a quick introduction and briefing from Dewata, we began our climb of Mt. Batur. The briefing was simple: stay together and take breaks when needed as the climb would take about 2 hours to reach the top and just in time for sunrise. It was around 0400 and dark (except for the light from our flashlights) and soon enough, the climb started to get tougher by the minute. At the time of writing this review, which is 3 weeks since the climb, I am 41 years old weighing 98 kilos, smoke and drink casually, and what doctors will say is “clinically obese”. So less than 30 minutes into the climb, I was fatigued with my heart rate pounding on my wrists. I couldn’t keep up with what seemed like a fast pace from the other trekkers. At this point Dewata told the rest of the group to continue by themselves and told them to wait for him at the top while he continued with me. By the time we reached the half-way point I was exhausted. My thigh and calf muscles were cramping and doubt was starting to dampen my spirits. After a well-deserved break we started to climb again but less than 10 minutes later I started to take breaks every 10 meters or so. At this point I was almost certain that I couldn’t reach the top. Worse, the climb had become steep at inclination of close to 50 degrees and the volcanic rocks were rounded and slippery. This was extremely difficult for me as I had an 8 kilo backpack consisting of camera gear in addition to a heavy tripod. I told Dewata that I would go back to the half-way point and wait for him and the group after they finished the trek. This is when Dewata gave be an incredible bit of inspiration and urged me to continue. I thought to me self that if I found it difficult to climb at this age and level of fitness, it would be near impossible to attempt this trek at a later stage in life. And right then and there, my mind seemed to have taken control of my failing limbs. I agreed to continue and Dewata made sure that I took breaks whenever I needed to (which had become often) but literally helped me every step of the way. We reached the top, just in time for what was a glorious and ultimately a rewarding vista with the sun starting to break through the clouds. After about 2 hours at the top, we started our way back down. This was tougher than the climb, but once again, Dewata helped me every step of the way till we were back down at ground level. In the end, this review is to say that the experience climbing Mt. Batur was incredible and a personal achievement but there was no way I could have done it if it weren’t for the professional and very helpful and caring attitude from our guide Mr. Dewata. Attached are some images, including a blended exposure I took at the top and at the point of sunrise. I sincerely hope this review inspires people like me to mark this activity into their itinerary when visiting Bali, but most importantly, I hope you have Dewata as your guide.

I bought the Mt Batur Sunrise Hike and Coffee/Tea tasting on sale a little over a month before I went because I was told that it's a high demand activity. I went with my great dear friend I was visiting in Indonesia and there were also 2 other Norwegian girls who joined our group hike. Our guide was "Bli Nova" and our driver "Kadek Cenk". Here is my review:) * How likely is it that you would recommend our product/service to a friend or colleague? I recommend to my friends and to you all to challenge yourselves on this hike in the dark up mt. batur, it is thrilling and safe. * How do you rate your last experience with us? My experience was wonderful. Kadek Cenk made my group and I feel welcome upon our hotel pickup in Seminyak and was an excellent driver throughout the whole trip. Bli Nova was so kindly patient with us, we stopped for about maybe 10 breaks or more because I somehow forgot how to drink water from my camel pack and became dreadfully tired, and he continued to motivate me to keep going and helped my group and I up the steep, rocky volcano (mt) Batur. We made it just in time for sunrise! It was the most beautiful sight I had ever seen in my life, to see the world from atop of an active volcano say "good morning" haha. * If you could change just one thing about our product/service, what would it be? If I could change one thing about the service it would be to have separate drivers to pick up each customer/hiker group, because it took some time to find the norwegian's airbnb, and we could've had more of a head start like other groups before us if we had separate cars for separate destinations. * Which other options did you consider before choosing our product/services? I considered the zoo, which I'm glad I chose the hike over the zoo because it was once in a lifetime experience I would do it again....next year haha:) * What else would you like us to know? Don't be afraid to challenge yourself, persevere and you'll be at the top before you know it. If asked, DONT get on the mountain bikes, Bli said they are not safe, nor are the drivers. This activity is great solo, couples, families, and friends. I met a family from San Diego, California. Review Body: We had an incredible day in Bali. One we will never forget. It started with an early 2:30am pick-up from Benny. He was on time and very kind. We stopped for some coffee and a small breakfast at a local shop nearby. After that, he dropped us off with our guide and we started the trek. Our guide was wonderful! He was so thoughtful the whole way and had a literal pep in his step. At times, he would walk with a little hop because he seemed like such an optimistic persona and he was the whole trek. I can't remember his name unfortunately, but he was so caring and thoughtful. Throughout the trek he would make sure we were ok and anytime we wanted a photo he would take it but also work really hard to make sure it turned out perfectly. He really wanted us to enjoy the photos. We loved our guide and enjoyed the hike up the mountain. We said our goodbyes once we were done with the hike and then our driver, Benny, picked us up and took us to the coffee plantation, Alam Bali. There we were immediately greeted with a private tour of their facilities and saw that they grew everything on site and were also happy to hear their Luwak coffee is from luwak's who run wild and free. We had 10 tastings and they were all delicious. We bought a lot from their shop and were so impressed with the facility. Our driver said it was his favorite spot and we could not have imagined a better place. After that, we had rice overlooking the rice fields. It was also another recommended favorite spot and we also thought this was just perfect. Great views and delicious food. I can't remember the name of the place but in their language, I think it translated as "pretty girl." We loved the food. Finally, we finished everything else early enough that Benny was kind enough to drive us to the Monkey Forrest. This was my absolute favorite activity even though I was a bit nervous. Benny was so kind to take lots of pictures for us and help us get monkeys to sit on our shoulders. He walked us through some of his favorite spots and told us a little bit about the trees and the area. It was a very long day, but every single thing was incredible and ran so smoothly. Benny had such a great attitude and was very professional and kind throughout the whole 10+ hours we spent with him. We highly recommend Benny as your guide for this tour. He is kind, helpful, patient, has great recommendations and is great to talk to. We loved our time in Bali and hope to come back soon!

Review Body: Gun has been our driver all week, and he has been amazing. He’s so kind and thoughtful, and he loves to share so much knowledge about customs, history, and traditions. For this trip, Gun has to meet us at 1:30 in the morning to start a 2 hour drive. He was early and smiling! He drove us through the constant rain on roads I wouldn’t drive in the sun, and introduced us to Widi for the trek. Widi was a great guide. The trek proved challenging between the rain and my thinking I was in better shape than I am, but Widi made sure we made it...and the views are unreal. Smoke flowing from the volcano while the sun rises...breakfast and coffee in hand...a once in a lifetime trek. After Widi brought us back to the start (amazing to walk through the local farms and very different from the view with a flashlight going up), Gun was again smiling as we arrived. He took us to the local hot springs, and it was a welcome rest following the trek. We swam for a bit, and then Gun took us to a local coffee farm to have the famous kopi luwak. Try it...it’s very good...and why not take advantage of every chance to live and experience something new? Gun then returned us to our hotel, and he was just as kind and friendly on the way back. A great trip, and Gun made it better.

Review Body: We booked this tour based on the very good reviews below. It was even better then described! We where picked up at our hotel lobby at 1.30 am, Eric/kutut was already waiting for us. He drove us to the starting point of the trek, explaining things about the climb, the vulcano, himself and the Balinese culture. We got to the starting point earlier than plannend and started our trek earlier to be able to take more breaks to enjoy the wonderful views. We got tot the top more then in time to enjoy the breath taking sunrise!! It is wonderful to see the sun rise over the mountains. After this Eric made us breakfast using the steam of the vulcano before going down again. After we got back to the car he offered us to see more of Bali and took us to some amazing places! Thanks for being a great guide! We loved this tour and would definitely recommed it to everyone visiting Bali!!! If you take this tour make sure you're in good shape as it is a though climb, but it is really worth the effort. :)

Review Body: We had a really good time doing the sunrise trek to Mt. Batur. It was well organized. We were picked up by our driver Sail on time at our hotel early in the morning so we could start our climb early to reach the peak. Some parts of the ascend were steep, but our guide Patrik made sure that everybody could keep up and did enough breaks to take some rest. It was amazing to hike under the stars and get to the top just at sunrise. They served us coffee, tea, and sandwiches to enjoy an amazing panoramic view. We had enough time to enjoy and take photos before going down again. Additionally to the hike we booked a visit to natural hot springs and a coffee plantation which are highly recommendable to relax after the trek. On a side note we would like to mention that we had planned this tour starting from Ubud, but as I got ill the company changed us the date and pick up location without a problem and extra charge. We highly recommend to do this hike while in Bali and book with this company

Review Body: This hike is by far the most difficult thing I have ever done. It is truly beautiful at the top but I honestly don't think I could physically do it again. The people who assisted us on the trip were phenomenal. Our guide, Lu, was very encouraging and stuck with me, giving lots of breaks and encouragement. She is likely the biggest reason I could actually make it up to the top. Our drivers, Komang wira& his trainee, Rabies, were very accommodating to our needs. Komang was shockingly bright and cheery for a 2 am car ride, giving us lots of info and Rabies is an efficient driver. They were more than willing to alter our trip based on our wants because we did not really enjoy the hot spring and wanted to leave early, which they happily obliged. The optional coffee plantation is also worth the stop if you are a coffee drinker. Overall good trip but prepared to be sore after!

Review Body: So we went on a morning trek to mt batur. We were picked up by our travel agent at sharp 2 in the night. Reached mt batur at 4 am.. got some morning tea.. n started the trek.. out guides name --KAN.. awesome fellow.. knew good English. Very helpfull very entertaining.. Had a very comfortable climb.. Got breakfast on top.. all of it carried for us by kan.. He also knew a decent amount abt the history of the climb. He took good care of all his trekkers Also there was coffee available on the mountain at a charge. Inspite of a cloudy day had a wonderful time. Reached in time for sunrise. Breathtaking view of mt agung and the batur lake. Special mention abt our guide kan.. on the way down we got 2 more trekkers with us coz their guide had already left without them..kan helped them and us on tue way. We were dropped back at oir hotel by 4.30pm

Review Body: We (my wife, our friend, and I) ordered two tours for two separate days. Kadek took us to Ubud and we had a fantastic time. He is quite the gentleman and was insightful about what we were experiencing and witnessing in Ubud. The second trip, to Mount Batour and the Hotsprings, our driver, Margi, was punctual, like Kadek, got us back and forth safely. Our Mount Batour guide, Komang, was engaging, patient, and was helpful as we trekked up and down the Volcano. We scheduled both tours with Putu and he didn't try to sell us on anything other than what we wanted. He was fair in negotiations, and the booking took about 5 minutes. That simple! All the guides were professional and not one time hassled us for money or even tried to sell us on additional tours. They took us to exactly the places that we booked. Great company! I highly recommend them.

Review Body: Had such a wonderful day! Words cannot even begin to describe this experience. Our driver Kadek picked us up at 2am for the drive to a farm at the foot of Mt Batur where we were greeted by fellow trekkers and guides. We were allocated to a group and our guide Waylan who was just the loveliest chap in the world. Waylan had only been trek guiding for a month but he was the best support out there. He supported us on our way up in the dark with our many struggles but also was extremely attentive and patient with us. The trek was hard but absolutely worth it and the hot springs after this was just the perfect combo! The last stop of the coffee plantation was good for some caffeine seeing as it was a long day! I absolutely rate this experience and recommend everyone does it. Just wear sensible footwear and expect to get filthy

Review Body: My daughter who is twenty, and I had the best time of our lives doing this Trek. It was a real adventure and absolutely worth it for the incredibly breathtakingly beautiful views all around. We were so lucky to have a wonderful, knowledgable, English speaking Guide, named Dewata, who was so helpful always watching out for everyone in our group to give them good clear safe instructions. He was excellent, I was the oldie in our group and he was happy to hold my hand to be steadier through the tough parts. He told stories, took photos, cooks for you,carries bags if needed,explains the whole mountain area, even grabs you a coffee at the top !!! Absolutely fabulous experience, would thoroughly recommend and Dewata, we can't thank you enough you were along with Mt Batur also incredible!! We hope to come back soon. ~~ ❤️❤️❤️~~

Review Body: Though it have been disclaimed the level of difficulty as moderate, it is still a bit harder than I imagined. The mountain is steep and the the road are all in loosen sand which made it so difficult to move forward while maintaining balance for the upper body. But the sunrise scene at the peak is rewarding for all the sweat and effort we paid. Our guide - Buana keep encourage us on the way, such that we can more time left on the peak. He is also caring for all our needs and is definitely a great photographer with very nice photo produce. Jhoni, our driver is also passionate for introducing anythings in Bali and always tried his best to cope with our needs. The value on the mountain is a lot greater than the hotspring there.

Review Body: The Mt Batur sunrise trek is such an amazing experience and our guide, Yanti, was fantastic! Our trek was full of information, fun and plenty of laughs thanks to Yanti's knowledge of the area combined with her energy and great sense of humour! Upon arriving at the top we were treated to a picnic breakfast (prepared by Yanti herself) to enjoy as we watched the breathtaking sunrise! The return trek was just as enjoyable and gave us a chance to get up close with some of the local wild monkeys and to see inside of the volcano itself and Yanti knew all of the best spots to get the best views and photos! We had such an amazing adventure thanks to our new friend Yanti and highly recommend her and her company to anyone interested!

Review Body: Unlike any of the treks I've been on in Australia, this one is INTENSE! The way up is steep and slippery so be careful, way down is just as slippery if not worse. However you'll be alright if you're with one of their highly experienced tour guides. My girlfriend and I had Dewata guiding and helping us through the whole trek. He was very informative, helpful, friendly, funny and super hyperactive! If you're the extreme trekking type, I'd definitely recommend you do this tour. Once you're up there and the sun starts rising, you'll see that it's all totally worth it in the end. The view is amazing from the top! A shoutout to Dewata - you're awesome and keep up the good work!

Karma, is a great professional, he knows the area very well, and explained everything about the Mount, the volcano and many other things that we asked him very well! He is very attentive, friendly and kind with the people of the little group. And he's also an excellent photographer! The driver, Agung went with us all the day, he took us to the Hot springs and to a Coffee plantation, too. Review Body: We decided to do the sunrise trekking to Mt Batur spontaneously one day in advance. The booking process and communication went smoothly . Our extremely reliable driver Kadek picked us up on time and brought us to the starting point where we met our guide Kelan. The trekking was challenging, but totally worth it! Also, this company chooses a path, on which you arrive faster and earlier than other customers (1,5 hours instead of 2,5 to 3) which is very convenient. Upon arrival we got rewarded by magnificent views and fresh breakfast. Kelan was super kind and helpful. We definitely recommend the tour.

Review Body: Had the best hike up Mt Batur to catch the sunrise! Putu and his team were amazing from the get go! Well organised. Yummy banana sandwiches shared at the top of Mt Batur while waiting for the sun to rise. Great fun on the descent (took the sneaky way down the ash side of the volcano). Had a relaxing experience at the hot springs and had a fantastic brunch with amazing views before visiting the organic coffee plantation. Definitely recommend using Putu and his team for your adventures in Bali! Hope to be back soon!

Review Body: Early wake up but our awesome driver Wira had arrived to pick us up from our hotel in Ubud early which was great. Some great insights on the area and some bali history. Made sure that we felt safe on our trip as it is windy. Great walk to the top of Mt batur would highly recommend everyone puts it on their list of things to do in bali. Lucky to have a beautiful sunrise. Followed by a stop in the natural hot springs and a lovely sleep in the car on the way home. Cheers Wira for getting us there and back safely.

Review Body: My girlfriend and I had the pleasure of having Adi Jong as our guide whilst climbing the volcano. One of the best people we have met in our 10 days in Bali, very informative and helpful, who we had a laugh with and some great conversation. The climb itself was one of the best things I have done in my life and watching the sunrise at the top was so beautiful. If I ever come back to Bali again I will be sure to do the climb again and hopefully have Adi as our guide!

Review Body: Our family of six really enjoyed this trek. Our flight arrived in Bali at 1:00am, so since we were already awake we decided to go straight to Mount Batur and do the sunrise hike. Our guide Weede (sp) was fantastic, he took care of us all the way up and down the volcano and fed us breakfast at the top (tea, coffee, egg sandwiches, fruit and candy bars). We had a perfect sunrise and it was a great way to start our vacation in Bali.
