Review Body: If you are looking for a good place to stay while visiting the Cameron Highlands, you should go to this hostel. Don’t go to some lame hotel in Tanah Rata but visit Heahtitude in Kuala Terla instead. Experience the local culture, learn all about the area, and most importantly, have a lot of fun together with the extremely hospatible hosts of this place.
Seriously. These guys listen to their guests and keep improving their services to make sure you have the best holiday ever. Real entrepreneurs who love their jobs and who make sure you have the time of your life.
We had the honour to meet Bryan, one of the hosts of Heahtitude. Amazing guy. He runs the place together with his brother Dennis. We are still talking about how amazing this guy is. He helped us out with finding the best places to hike, and brought us to the best local restaurants which you would never find on your own.
After he heard about our desire to buy some local fruits, he took us to the wet market. He really took the time to show us around and to tell us about the local delicacies. This is just one of the many great memories we have of Heahtitude.
I think these kind of places are pretty unique in the world and therefore I will advise everyone going to Malaysia to at least stay for a couple of nights at Heahtitude. It’s pretty easy to get there. Just take to bus to Tanah Rata (we did from Ipoh) and ask the driver to make a stop in Kuala Terla. Of you have any issues finding out how to get there, I’m sure Dennis and Bryan are there to help yoi out.
Oh yeah. The hostel looks very nice. But you can see that on the pictures. Cool retro design style. We loved it. And in the morning you get to most tasty home made scones!

Review Body: This was by far the highlight of our trip. We were coming from Penang and in need of some rest, relaxation and cooler weather. Heahtitude provides all of that and more.
First off the place is incredible. An eclectic mix of new and old furniture, comfortable dorm beds all named (you can call me Lalalele) and nice linens. There is an amazing patio in the back that overlooks a river. Great place to see the sunrise or to sit with a cup of coffee or a beer. They have beers you can buy ready in the fridge and they go by the honor system of having you write down what you take and pay at the end.
There is space for 12 so it’s a great place to meet people. They have a board when you come in introducing you to everyone staying that night. Our last night we took the option of having a bbq. Bryan got out plates, cups, utensils and even started the fire. We invited everyone staying to joins us. It was really fun and felt like family. We bought the ingredients from the local market which was also a fun experience.
They have a huge chalkboard wall with a hand drawn map giving you the sights and restaurants in the area. Dennis was great about explaining the map and giving advice. They are incredibly organized and it shows in the house and through their communication. They were by far some of the best hosts and were fun to joke with. Plus...Bryan makes scones in the morning.
I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking to have a local experience in the Cameron Highlands. This one is going to be tough to beat.

Review Body: This guesthouse is a gem. The room was lovely, as well as the common spaces. SUPER clean. The little patio overlooking the river is fantastic to chill. The kitchen is super convenient. The GH is full of little touches that show the care Dennis and Bryan put into it. Communication with them was super efficient and nice. I only met Dennis when I was there and he is a lovely host, full of recommendations. Kuala Terla is a small, tightly knit and friendly community, there are lots of options available for food close by (Malay, Indian, Chinese) that are all good and have English menus or at least super helpful English speaking staff, so contrary to what earlier reviews have suggested there is absolutely no need to be worried on that front. You are away from the main town, which I thought was an advantage but you should know. The only caveat is not even the fault of the GH: the company that does pick-ups in the village for day tours, called Hill Top, is the absolute worst (see my other review on them, it's lengthy). I did a full day tour including a jungle trek to see the Rafflesia, which guests of Heahtitude apparently hadn't done so Dennis told me in all honesty he did not know if that particular package was worth it or not. After I told him about my experience he was verry sorry (no fault of his own!) and told me they would explore alternatives. My suggestion would be to either avoid this tour, book in Tanah Rata or make sure with the owners that they can put you in touch with other options.

Review Body: Just finished my stay at Heahtitude with my boyfriend and could not recommend it enough 10/10!!
The hosts Bryan and Dennis couldn’t be more welcoming - incredible service! Bryan came and found us when we (somehow?!) managed to get lost finding the guest house and when we ran out of money he even drove us to the local bank to use the ATM - talk about above and beyond!
The guest house itself is REALLY cool with a big open kitchen and the toilets/ showers are super clean with hot water. The view from the river side terrace was my fave spot!
As other reviews state Kuala Terla is a bit outside of the main area of the Cemron Highlands attractions but it was perfect for us - so much more laid back after travelling in KL and Penang. Lovely smaller tea plantation with a cute tea room at the end and the Wednesday night market was really cool and felt like a real insight into local life!
We loved our stay here x

Review Body: This was a truely amazing stay and I was so sad to leave. Staying at this guest house was a wonderful experience, enhanced by the locals and Bryan, the host. I couldn't have asked for anything more. The location was easy to find and the journey time to this village (from ipoh) was shorter than staying at other locations. I had so much help from local people in this village. Here and one other guest house also run by Bryan the the team are the only two places for tourists to stay in the village and I would reccommend this authentic option over the bigger hotels in the neighbouring towns. There is a beautiful river flowing at the back of the house where you can sip tea and a place to book your trips just next door at a much cheaper option that what I had researched online. Bryan want above and beyond to make me feel welcomed and helped with many suggestions. I appreciated his kindness so much

Review Body: Heahtitude is a perfect retreat home from the hustle and bustle of city life. Located in the farmer's town of Kuala Terla, it is away from the commercialised parts of Camerons and hence is perfect for relaxing, having authentic local food and enjoying the sights and sounds of nature. Bryan is one of the most attentive hosts i have experienced and he strives to please. He gave us recommendations on where to eat, best places to buy quality and reasonably priced fresh produce (a must buy when visiting Cameron Highlands) and even pointed out some of the lesser known attractions of the town. Heahtitude is sensibly decorated creating a home away from home. This vintage home preserves many of the original furniture and fixtures, adding to a unique experience.
Room tip: The breakfast is light so do check with the host what is being served so you can plan ahead if you require something heavier.

Review Body: Liked · Dennis was an exceptional host, and went over and above to help us facilitate an honest taxi driver, and enjoyable activities to do during our short stay in the Cameron Highlands. The room was comfortable and roomy, and there were all of the facilities that you could hope for in a guesthouse, including good WIFI, and a modern washing machine. There was also a small but nice array of restaurants and shops around the town of Kuala Terla
Disliked · The location was very quiet and peaceful relative to Tanah Rata and Brinchang, although be prepared to be spending a reasonable amount on taxis if you plan on doing activities near there (around RM30 to RM40 per trip). The shower was a little bit cold even with the hot water on, although this could equally have been us not knowing how to operate it properly!

Review Body: Liked · Nothing short of brilliant. The host Bryan was amazing from the word go or infact even before we checked in he was already contacting me to inform the room was ready.
The place was just stupendous and sort of took us back in time with all the quirky and antique items. Loved the decor, especially the typewriter and the iron!
The river view just topped it off probably spent the most time there, sunrise and sunset is a must.
Bryan was very informative with places to go almost all the places we went was recommended by him and I can say each one we've been to was amazing. From places to eat (restoran nur iman, mama's cafe) and hiking trails.
He provided photos also to help us navigate our ways.
Fully recommended and will definitely come back again!
Disliked · Exceeded my expectations.

Review Body: The Heahtitude was a bit difficult to find, thanks to the help of the nice owner of the neighboring Indian grocery store, we got to our destination, the host Dennis was also quickly on the spot to meet us by phone. The entire accommodation is very original and stylish and also very clean and well-kept. The one with the "open top" rooms (dormitory-like) was not known to us beforehand. We were lucky with the other guests who were reasonably calm and considerate. There were some dogs in the neighborhood that barked for long periods of time at night, which could be heard despite earplugs. Breakfast is prepared in the communal kitchen, the choice is very limited. In the morning, however, sitting on the great terrace by the river with coffee / tea is priceless.

Review Body: Liked · The place itself is very stylish and the owner is very friendly. The terrace is the best where you can enjoy a nice view.
Disliked · There isnt much to do in the little town. You need your own transportation to enjoy the place fully.Unfortunately, the place doesnt provide motorbikes, which was a big downside. The owner can arrange a taxi, but it isnt the same.

Review Body: The guesthouse is tucked away from the noisy tourist crowd. Place is clean and you get the 'feel' of staying in a traditional village home. Plus Bryan is a warm host. The highlight would be the patio at the back facing the river and hills. 5 stars !!! We will come back again. Thank you.
