Review Body: It was a nice stay because we got a upgrade to the treehouse. Strangely enough we had yo pay for the lunch during the safari, in the program it was included. The drive was 12 hours, which is too long, so we shortend it.

Review Body: Our initial enquiries were dealt with swiftly and courteously, in a trademark Sri Lankan manner.On booking, the management heard that I was bringing my kid along to show her Sri Lanka, and within minutes were recommended that she stays in the Treehouse as a free upgrade - typical Sri Lankan generosity and kindness towards children. When we got there, the tree house was amazing, it was about 3 stories tall. We got the top floor built right into the trees. It had a lovely balcony where you could sit down and look all the mammals and birds that make the treetops their home - right in their beady little eyes! There were giant Squirrels, Chipmunks, Monkeys, a several species of birds which I was pretty illiterate about (definitely some stunning Golden Orioles) at that level. There were lots of waterbirds and Peacocks on the ground level as the place overlooks a Paddy field that was left disused(drought). The Treehouse is within about 100 metres of the Wilpattu Park itself. At night, elephants sneak out of the park and across the paddy field on their way to food sources outside the park, they "sneak" right by this place, they are incredibly quiet by the resident dogs will let you know when they are around. The rooms are equipped with very comfortable beds, with an effective air conditioner. There are also mosquito nets present. The shower has a water heater if you need it and was clean and well supplied. There was tea/coffee facilcities in the room too. Food: We went during the Sinhala New Year, and the place had lower numbers of staff than they would normally have apparently. I personally did not find anything wanting, The manager was hands on (Manoj) and seemed capable of dropping into any needed position in the place. The staff to a person were absolutely lovely in their care and contact towards my little girl. Being the little townie (UK speak for being a little City Rat!) was absolutely at sea in the wild surroundings, she did not cope well with the spices in the delicious Sri Lankan food presented, so they produced incredibly mild and gentle Western food for her to tuck into. It is a great place to get into the National Park, from. Being only a few meters away. Afterwards, you could take an afternoon walk along the Bund (dam) of the lake which forms one of the limits of the park. You will see deer, lots of birds (e.g storks, Paradise Flycatchers, Darts and Eagles) that visit the place. You will also find the places where the elephants have waded across to get out at night. There are electric fences along the Bund - just be warned, they dont look like the stuff that keeps cows out, (think more like something out of Jurassic park). Would I attend again? DAMN RIGHT Thank You for an amazing time, WILPATTU TREE HOUSE.

Review Body: Off the beaten track, nestled amoung the trees was our room for the night. My new wife and I (on honeymoon) were excited to experience a night in a Treehouse. We were given a very warm welcome from Sanjay and his team and were given a refreshing cold towel and a fruit juice whilst we were checked in. After a swift and hassle free check in we were shown to our room at the top of the Treehouse. Fortunately our bags were brought up for us as the stairs are very narrow. While there are rooms at ground level do try and book into the Treehouse if you are able as you can get a great view from the provided balcony. For anyone worried about insects etc in the room you do have a mosquito net the drapes over the bed so nothing will disturb you. Dinner was served at 7.30pm but before this Sanjay offered to take us to try and spot some elephants as they are so close to the park. With just a 5 minute walk we were walking down a path and found a couple of wild elephants on the opposite shore coming down for a drink. Elephants before our morning safari!! Dinner was a good buffet with enough choice bearing in mind the small number of guests. Overall a great place to stay and right on the doorstep of the national park so we didn't need to be up earlier than needed to make the 6am park opening time and of course a unique experience sleeping on a well fitted Treehouse.

Review Body: Best place this area can offer!We were staying two nights. Staff was very nice especially the young lady and gentleman. The lady talked to us long time and told us things about the place and stuff. We staid at the tree bed room which had a balcony. We saw an elephant from there. It was nice! The bathroom was very nice and clean. Quite amazing in the middle of a jungle. The room was spacious and had a comfortable bed. Be aware that frogs come at evening because of the AC. But there were only a few. Nice little friends :) At night you can hear the voices of jungle. Dogs bark to elephants. Food was okay and big breakfast. They also gave us breakfast and lunch with us to the safari. Go to the safari at 6am! We saw all the most interesting animals in two hours! (A leopard, a bear, an elephant, a crocodile...) The place altogether is very relaxing. Only minus is that there were no blankets :( only a sheet served as a blanket. A light blanket would be nice because with the AC it becomes cold but without AC is too hot.

Review Body: I'm always wary of giving out 5 stars, but between the super cool experience of spending a night in a treehouse in the wilderness and the amazing hospitality of the staff on site, I can't in good faith rate it any differently. The place is a bit hard to find (you need to drive down a pretty narrow and nondescript road), but once you arrive you are 2-minutes from the park and are adjacent to a rice paddy field through which elephants regularly wander. The convenience of getting to the park for a safari is hard to ignore. We arrive late on Saturday night with some dinner we got along the way. Chapa and the rest of the crew set up the dining room as we polished off our food. They were up at 4AM the next morning to put together a picnic basket for our safari adventure. Medicine was also on hand when one of us didn't feel so great. We were the only guests on site and we felt so well taken care of.

Review Body: I came from Colombo for a long weekend, meeting a friend at the tree house. Very good location to access the park. We arranged a morning safari through the hotel that was great, although we didn't see a leopard or a bear, that we were wishing for. We decided to try our luck in the afternoon and hung around the park entrance (5minute walk from tree house) to find a suitable group or individual to join in their vehicle, to reduce our costs. We indeed joined a lovely woman and saw three sightings of leopard and a bear loping and snuffling along side the cars. The evening meal was good quality local food, as was breakfast. Our room was a raised individual building, that was charming, with a good balcony to chill out and view the greenery. Very pleasant stay, made more special by the great young hostess,who was genuinely professional and very warm and welcoming.

Review Body: Wilpattu national park is one of the 2 best leopard spotting destinations in the world. Amazing place for wildlife lovers as hotel is full of wildlife. Included with our incredible safari ride, in which we saw 3 leopards and a sloth bear, we saw 71 species of animals in total at a two night stay in Wilpattu. The rooms are very reasonably priced for the amount of food given and the rooms size and comfort ability. The staff are nice and the manager is extremely informative and friendly. They gave toast instead of the regular buffet for my father who was sick. For people who have a special interest in birds there is a bunt you can walk along which is less than 5 minutes walk from the hotel. It is safe as it is surrounded by an electric fence and is 5 minutes walk from the entrance. The experience was the best ever trip I have had.

Review Body: Had such an amazing stay at Wilpattu Tree House! We stayed at the top storey of the treehouse and we were treated to a stunning view of the tree line. The balcony was perfect to soak in the serene and peaceful surroundings. There is literally a branch coming through the walls, so I would suggest using the mosquito net when sleeping. There were some mosquitoes and lizards in the room at night, but we weren’t bothered by them. All part of the treehouse experience! The toilet and shower were in good condition, and the air conditioning and appliances all worked fine too. We had the buffet dinner at the restaurant the two nights we were there. And the food was simply delicious! Do take a walk by the small lake near the compound, it was a nice stroll with stunning scenery. Saw some deer in the distance too!

We stayed on the top floor with the tree coming through our room. The room had two beds- one was a loft, a standard bathroom, mini fridge, kettle, water, etc. to make our stay comfortable. The room also had a great balcony for morning coffee and bird watching. We spotted lots of birds, including hornbills at the Tree House and tons of animals in the park. Staff are incredibly nice and accommodating and the food at the hotel restaurant was amazing.

Review Body: Lovely tree houses with the structure built around tree branches that add to the decor. A bit rustic but that makes it feel more authentic. Beautiful wildlife joins you on the balcony (lizards, palm squirrels, frogs and monkeys). The food was lovely and the staff are very good at catering to dietary requirements when given notice. The packed lunch for safari is also very nice. Be aware that the hot water comes and goes so sometimes you may have it and sometimes you won’t, but a cool shower is welcomed after a hot safari anyhow.

Review Body: We knew we wanted to visit Wilpattu National Park isn search of the leopards and were struggling with a place to stay until we found the Wilpattu Tree House. Right next to the Main (eastern gate) of the Park, we specifically asked for the Treehouse top room that we had seen images of online. The room was clean and comfortable. Arrive hungry in the evening! Dinner is a full spread feast and the chef is also able to provide you a packed lunch for the following day safari. We wish we could have stayed longer...
