Review Body: If you're looking for an INCREDIBLE surfing experience in Bali as a beginner or a seasoned pro look no further than Kisa's Fun Surf School! Our story - My fiancé Christian and I got to Bali for a 2 week stay, had no set plans on what we wanted to do and were just winging it. The first day we went to Legian Beach to take in some sun, read a book and relax. We soon realized that once we stepped foot on the sand (and anywhere in Bali really) that everyone and their mom was trying to sell us something, especially surf lessons. As we were walking down the beach literally every 10 steps we took another surfer bro came up to us asking, "surf lesson, surf lesson?" in a very aggressive manner, which kind of put us off to the whole idea of surfing. After a few days of relaxing on the beach we were pretty fed up with the locals trying to sell us anything and everything, and that's when we met Kisa. We had spent all day wandering around Kuta and Legian and, of course ended up on the beach and popped a squat a few yards in front of Kisa's Fun Surf School... THANK THE HEAVENS!!! As we were talking and watching the waves, Kisa came up to us and we thought, "Great, another local trying to sell us something, uuugggh". Instead, Kisa said something to the tune of, "Hey! I don't want to bother you, but just wanted to let you know that if you want to swim make sure that you do it between these two flags, otherwise you might get hit in the head with a surf board". He proceeded to give us all the pertinent information about the swimming and surfing conditions, as well as advice on what to do in Bali. He was full of information and never once tried to sell us something which was a breath of fresh air. As we finished our conversation he handed us his card and simply said, "If you're interested in getting a surfing lesson let me know". We knew at that moment that we had found the real deal as far as surf instructors go (someone who was passionate about the joys of surfing and teaching instead of trying to make a quick buck). Even though it was both of our first times to surf, with the brilliant instruction of both Kisa and his brother, Sufier, Christian and I both were able to actually stand up on our boards and ride some waves!!!! Besides being phenomenal instructors both Kisa and Sufier are great conversationalists. They told us all about the history of Bali, their homeland (a different island in Indonesia that's escaping my memory), their love of teaching and how realizing that being a good, kind person is more rewarding than trying to hustle tourists (which the majority of their competitors do). During our entire stay in Bali, Kisa treated us like family and made sure that we were having a great time, even when we weren't taking lessons with him. Not only did we get to meet Kisa and Sufier, but we also made a bunch of other great friends from around the world. Under the shade of Kisa's umbrellas we got to chat with many of Kisa's other students, a lot of which have been coming back to take lessons with him for the past 2-3 years. Today is our last day in Bali and I've already verbally told everyone about Kisa's Fun Surf School. Yesterday was our last lesson with him (we only took two) and I was walking back to the beach from the MiniMart and I made friends with an Aussie (Alex), who had just gotten to Bali. I asked him what his plans were and he said that he had no plans and he was just winging it. That brought a huge smile to my face and I asked him, "Do you want to learn how to surf?". He said, "Ya, maybe". I immediately took Alex to meet Kisa and after taking with him for a few minutes he booked a reservation on the spot for the next day. At the end of the lesson yesterday we gave our farewells to Kisa, asked him for his address so we could send him an invite to our wedding (even if he can't make it), and Kisa specifically asked us to stay in touch. We're not sure when we'll be in Bali next, but it'll definitely happen and without a doubt we'll be booking several surf lessons with our best bud, Kisa!!!! =) <3<3<3

Review Body: I surfed twice in Kuta with the help of Kisa. When in Bali, YOU MUST TRY TO SURF! You must try to surf in Bali because they have the best spot to try surfing; It’s beginner-friendly. So on our 6th day in Bali, we decided to get out of bed at 2pm and spend the rest of the day in Legian. Our hotel was just 5 minutes away from the beach. When we got there, we rented beach beds along Legian shore. Then, Steph and Camille decided to look for food. When they returned, it was time for me to look for my own food and found Indomie’s Mie Goreng, while waiting for it, I looked for a surfing school and my feet brought me to Kisa’s. Kisa was something else, he is not your average type of surfing instructor. He would try to pass on his knowledge and love of surfing. He taught me the proper technique in surfing even the proper handling of the board while in the water to avoid accidents. He taught me how each part of the board was called which I never learned before. His goal is not only for you to stand in the board but really learn the proper way of surfing. I was never confident being alone in the sea, I get panic attacks but Kisa... Kisa made me realise that the sea; the waves is not an enemy. There’s nothing to worry about, it’s all in the mind. His love and respect for surfing, for Bali, for his hometown and for nature is so infectious. For Kisa, surfing is not only about fun, surfing is a way to be one with nature— with this, I totally agree! Much respect to Kisa! If you ever find yourself in Bali, don’t think about it, TRY IT! Review Body: During our stay in Bali we were looking for a good surfboard rental just close to legian beach. We found the surf school by just walking down the beach and chose to go there as the prices were really good and the staff was super friendly and not intrusive like most of the people at the beach who would like to offer you something. We just rented some boards as we have already had some surfing experience, however we still got a small and excellent briefing before entering the water. We got advised which board to use regarding our surfing level and at the second day I was recommended to use a smaller board (level 6/7) and it worked out really well. Moreover we even got texted via whats app when the waves were good in order to make our day in the water as perfect as possible. Everyone there is very friendly and they treated us like family :) We would recommend this to everyone who is looking for a professional, friendly and helpful surfing school. You will experience more than just surfing but moments you will never forget just like having a chat with a few drinks at the beach during sunset together. Review Body: It was a last minute thought to fill our last couple of hours in Bali with a surf lesson for my 13 year old son. Texted Kisa’s for rates and availability The night before and his response was swift and accommodating. I told him and I wasn’t sure if I could confirm until the last minute and he ended off by saying just turn up as he wants to help anyone who would like to surf. Turning up after a long morning of diving was the best decision. Kisa is an amazing teacher. Someone so patient, passionate about teaching surfing while cheering my son on endlessly. His rates are very reasonable. I tried surfing on my own years ago and failed terribly. My son could stand on the board and ride the waves a mere 10 minutes after coaching. He is now in love with surfing and shares with everyone this was his favorite activity in Bali. He says he will be back someday to surf. Could not have asked for more. So blessed to have found Kisa in a short time and instill my son’s passion in the sport and started him on the right foot. Thank you Kisa ! You are the best !

Review Body: This was my third visit back to Legian and third visit to Kisa's Fun Surf. And I'm already looking forward to my next trip! With Kisa and his brother Saviour not only will you have experienced teachers, who put your safety first at all times, but you will gain good friends. With 25 years of experience you can feel confident that you are learning with the best. The lessons start on the beach with the basics and continue with your development in the water. I was able to try out level 2 this time after grasping level 1 and couldn't be more proud of what I achieved in the space of 3 lessons - with a huge thanks down to the advice and support of Kisa and Saviour. It was an absolute pleasure to surf and spend time with this family-such genuinely lovely people who are happy to share their culture and time with you whilst having great fun surfing. I couldn't recommend enough - looking forward to my next trip already!

Review Body: My partner and I were looking for some private surfing lessons. We came across Fun surf school on TripAdvisor and even with such late notice he was able to take us out on the water. He is priced well below the competitors and provides a personalised experience. Kisa really took the time to ensure we were comfortable and conditions were safe. After we had practiced on the shore we went into water and Kisa took my partner through every wave ride. We were able to stand on the board within a few attempts thanks to his amazing teaching. We spent close to 3 or 4 hrs surfing and he invited us to come back the following day to continue. He is extremely patient and kind and I couldn’t recommend fun surf school enough. This is somewhere I would definitely recommend and look forward to visiting again on future Bali trips.

Review Body: Kisa is a nice person. we met him at the beach randomly. we just happen to stay in Pullman and walked across the street and sat in his place. He is very nice, we just took 2 boogie boards for my sons and 1 surf board for me at the first day. he wasnt there when we took the board because he was with a customers, teaching surfing. the next day we went back and he teached us surfing. my teenager son was very happy. Kisa managed to help him to stand on his board in the first minute he jumped into the beach. he gave quite long instruction before he went to the beach to make sure all the safety and technic. it was an amazing experience for us. my son was happy he can ride the wave, and he made me a proud father. all the best for Kisa very recommended surf teacher..

Review Body: My friend recommended this surf school to me, and now I can in turn highly recommend it to other people. I had only tired surfing two times before (without instructor) and that didn’t go well. So I thought I give it one more chance and try with an instructor. My goal was that I would be happy if I managed to be able to stand up once or twice. But with the instructors help at fun surf I managed to stand up on the board every time. Also the instructors are very serious and passioned about surfing, and tell you to come and surf only when the waves are suitable for surfing. Which I think feels very serious and not trying to sell as many lessons as possible. They want you to have a good experience. I’ll be back for sure. Mikael

Review Body: The instructors are very knowledgable in what they do! They start with the basic on the sand and help build your confidence right up to the top. It was right next door to my hotel so I could easily just walk across the road. The best thing was the team at Fun surf school is that they're all so happy, positive and you make such good friends with them! I highly recommended doing surf lessons through with these guys! I had about 2 lessons with them before I had to go home and within the two lessons. I have learnt so much about surfing. I would deffs come back again with these guys! Thank you!

Review Body: Kisa and his nephew provided an awesome service for our two 16 year olds. The level of knowledge of local conditions and years of experience went above and beyond. The girls got a great understanding of the surf and the two hours started on the sand with exercises to get them used to the actions they would require in the surf. Within the hour they were both standing in the gentle surf. Both came away excited by their achievements and raving about their instructor Ravon (sorry if misspelt). Thank you Kisa for your exceptional knowledge and great service.

Review Body: Booked the 3 kids in for Surf lessons with Kisa after reading all the great reviews and we weren't let down. With 2 adults and 3 kids from 9 to 15, Kisa organised 3 instructors to help us learn the basics and assist us out in the water. To top it all of whilst we were having a ball in the surf, Kisa was taking a bunch of action photos for us to take home as proof of our newfound skills. I highly recommend Kisa and Fun Surf School if you want to learn to surf whilst your in Bali!

Review Body: I highly recommend fun surf school! The instructors are very good at what they do. We started on the sand where they showed us how to stand on the board. They took us into the water and I couldn’t believe it but I rode so many waves! If you ask me you should at least do two hours of lessons. After the lessons we had some delicious street food. We ate together and had great conversation. Not only did they teach us to surf but they were very hospitable as well! I give them 10/10!
