A Cat Tien homestay that supports local kids and feels like village life
If you want a Cat Tien stay that feels personal and purposeful, this is the one to book. More than just a base near the national park, this riverside homestay helps fund free education programmes for local village children, and its shared spaces are designed to bring travellers, volunteers, and kids together naturally. Just 6km from Cat Tien, it suits travellers who want forest time with real community connection, not a detached lodge stay. The social side of this stay is what makes it different. There are riverside chill spots, a communal dining area, a meditation room, a garden, and a children’s play area, so people actually spend time together instead of staying in their rooms. Past guests often talk about the warmth here, the chance to meet local children, and the feeling of being part of village life for a couple of days.It also goes beyond the usual Cat Tien itinerary. Alongside a guided bike ride or trek to the park’s ancient trees and Giant Tung tree, you’ll visit Stone Hill Farm, a hill that has been restored over 13+ years from barren land into a thriving regenerative forest. You’ll learn about permaculture, closed-loop farming, and land restoration, then try chocolate making there too. It’s a more thoughtful way to experience the area than simply passing through the national park. What to ExpectPrivate 2D1N experience near Cat Tien National Park1-night stay in a simple countryside room with fan, mosquito net, and private bathroomGuided trek or bike ride in Cat Tien National Park to see ancient trees and the Giant Tung treeVisit to Stone Hill Farm, including a look at regenerative farming and land restorationChocolate-making experience at the farmShared riverside and garden spaces designed for relaxing and connecting with the local communityGood to KnowTransport to and from Cat Tien is not includedBest for travellers who enjoy nature, local interaction, and a slower paceVegetarian meals can be arranged with advance noticeThe setting is riverside and near forest, so expect insects, fresh air, and plenty of natural soundsAccommodationThis is a simple, community-based homestay. Meet your host
Hang and her big-hearted team started this community with a simple mission: to use ecotourism as a way to support local children. Through the homestays and guided tours, they not only introduce travellers to the beauty of Cat Tien National Park, but also channel the earnings back into free education programmes for children in the village, helping them gain both academic knowledge and practical life skills. Guests are welcomed by a warm, joyful group of children who are happy to share stories about their village and culture. Past travellers have especially loved the local hospitality, peaceful nature views, and the eye-opening chance to connect with countryside children and see Cat Tien from a more local perspective.
