Review Body: Sincerely hope this place does well. It's the most charming village with staff who really tried their best to make our stay delightful. The art and puppet show have just so much charm and character, and clearly so much thought went through everything. With a tour, you get to know all the little unknown drinks, sites, and food about this town. The food is really really delicious, tho we do wish we got to select what we could have for lunch and dinner, such as the pork belly (next time!). The price is a little steep, but you really get a lot of people working pretty much just for a few guests (in our case, just us 2). We really weren't expecting to have the shadow puppet show and the Che Lam cooking all to ourselves. We recommend having some time to walk around on your own as well, it's a really beautiful place and we got to meet some amazing folks.

Review Body: Suitable for the whole family to experience in a day. Beautiful village, well-preserved ancient houses, many beautiful photo angles. Doai complex has full services for eating, resting and experiencing tile painting, making sweet soup, watching shadow puppets, very worth for parents to bring their children under 14-15 years old to explore

Review Body: This tour was incredibly enjoyable! Our tour guide, Quỳnh, was super enthusiastic and helped us learn more about Duong Lam ancient village. The experiences, from sightseeing and eating to watching a movie and playing with wooden fish, were all great fun. If I have the chance, I would definitely come back and recommend it to my friends.

Get hands-on with rice farming in an ancient village near Hanoi
Far from the noise of the city, this experience brings you into the fields to learn about Vietnam’s wet rice culture through hands-on seasonal farming activities. You won’t be watching from the side. Depending on the season, you may step into the rice paddies, learn how seedlings are planted by hand, or help with other farm tasks that families here have done for generations. It is a simple but unique chance to feel Vietnam’s wet rice culture through the work itself, not just through stories.Because the day takes place in Duong Lam, the farming still sits inside one of the country’s best-preserved ancient villages. After the fieldwork, you’ll slow down with a village lunch, a herbal foot soak, tea, and traditional sweet, then take a walk through the historic brick lanes, laterite houses, wells, and village landmarks that are still part of daily life. What to ExpectPrivate 6-hour farm-and-village experience in Duong Lam, around 50km from HanoiHands-on seasonal farm work with local farmersActivities may include rice planting, harvesting, groundnut digging, cassava harvesting, or other field tasks depending on the time of yearLearn how traditional rice farming is done and how it shapes village lifeLocal lunch with home-style countryside dishesHerbal salt foot soak, hot tea, and che lam after the farm sessionGuided walk through Duong Lam Ancient Village, with stops that may include the village gate, communal house, Mia Pagoda, old houses, and other heritage sitesGood to KnowDuong Lam Ancient Village is located about 50km from Hanoi. Meet your host

Based in the heart of Duong Lam ancient village, this local collective is made up of people who actually live there. They create experiences that reflect everyday village life in the Red River Delta, from folk art and cultural activities to small moments that show how old customs still shape the community today. What makes them different is their shared approach: local residents work together to host visitors, protect the village’s character, and keep traditional culture part of daily life rather than something staged for show. They also open their space to artists and community events, making it a living, creative part of the village.
