Meet your host

Tuan is an architect based in Hanoi, with training in urban design, heritage and ecological architecture from Hanoi, Toulouse and New York. Before coming back to Vietnam, he spent nearly ten years in the US working on housing, public buildings and urban planning. That mix of experience shapes the way he sees Hanoi today. His work looks closely at how people actually live in a space — how buildings change over time, how communities adapt them, and what local materials and conditions can offer. On his walks, he brings that same lens to Hanoi’s old collective housing areas, helping guests notice not just the design, but the shared routines, memories and history held in these neighborhoods.
