Craft your own mosaic art piece in Vietnam's oldest pottery village
This artsy mosaic workshop in Hanoi’s famous 600-year-old Bát Tràng pottery village is a lovely way to spend a relaxing morning or afternoon in Hanoi. The workshop is set in a peaceful, beautiful space where you’ll design and make your own mosaic art on a wooden frame. A mosaic artist will be there to guide you step by step if you need help – from how to place your mosaic pieces to tips on colour and composition.Mosaics in Hanoi are more than just a pretty art piece - there's a long history behind it, dating all the way back to the French colonial era. You might have also seen the 4km long mosaic mural along Hanoi's main streets. It's actually a concrete dyke that was built to protect Hanoi from floods, and was turned into a beautiful work of art to commemorate 1,000 years of the city's history - using mosaics. Every section tells a story - from celebrating local crafts and key moments from Hanoi’s past.By creating your own little mosaic art piece in one of Hanoi's oldest handicraft villages, you’ll not only take home a beautiful piece of art, but leave with a deeper appreciation of Vietnam’s traditions. What to ExpectYou’re welcome to walk around, look at finished mosaic pieces, and quietly observe how the space feels. Let the colours and textures inspire your own design. Our mosaic artist will be there to guide you step by step if you want help – from how to place your mosaic pieces to basic tips on colour and composition – but you’re always in control of your artwork.Create your own mosaic: you’ll design and make your own mosaic on a wooden frame, and leave with a finished piece you can take home as a personal memory of Bát Tràng.

Meet your host

Founded by a team of young artists eager to share the beauty of ceramic mosaic art, this artspace offers inviting and hands-on way to explore mosaic art within Bat Trang, the famous pottery village just outside Hanoi. Unlike traditional methods that involve breaking materials, our ceramic pieces are precisely cut and rounded, making it safe and effortless to create. With over 100 unique shapes, sizes, and colors, assembling a mosaic here feels like putting together an intricate puzzle, making it a delightful activity for all ages, including children as young as four. As a proud supplier for Hanoi’s famous Ceramic Mosaic Mural, the hosts continue to honour Vietnam’s rich artistic heritage while introducing a modern, hands-on approach to this ceramic mosaic craft. Whether you're an art lover or simply looking for a hands-on creative experience, this is a great chance to immerse yourself in the joy of mosaic-making.
