Highlights
  • Gorgeous mangrove views to get upclose to nature
  • Heartfelt kayak guides
  • Rare chance to see local kelongs from upclose (floating fish farms)
  • Beginner & child friendly
  • Pet-friendly
  • Specially designed for all adventure seekers, this kayaking trip is the perfect introduction to the Pulau Ubin mangroves (no kayaking experience required)! Suitable for kids 4+ and up, under their parents' supervision. This experience is also pet-friendly (so long as your pet can fit in the kayak - ~20kg is still ok!).What to expect This option is one of the most comprehensive out there and good for kayakers of all levels (beginners welcome!). Halfway through your journey, you will beach up and get the chance to hike up to the tallest point in Pulau Ubin, Puaka Hill! For those who enjoy a great view in the morning and fancy instagram worthy pictures, we got you.Arrangements can also be made to purchase freshly caught seafood from a local Kelong! Just ask your guides on the day of your trip for the available seafood for purchase. Please Note: SerendipET provides open double kayaks, and has a limited number of single kayaks which are used only in the event there is an odd number of participants. Due to the nature of this activity, it's almost 100% chance you will get wet (including your trousers and shoes!). Please wear clothing that you don't mind getting wet.Child-FriendlyThis experience is suitable for children from the age of 4 and up, provided they know how to swim. Child life jackets will be provided.Pet-Friendly You can bring your pets on the kayak with you. Please do let us know when you book if you intend to bring your pet. Depending on the size of your pet (ie whether you’re ok squeezing with it on a kayak), you can have two dogs on a two person kayak. We have had customers bring their dog around 20kg on the kayak before - the general rule of thumb is that if you don’t mind squeezing with your dog on the kayak, it’s ok with SerendipET.Note: when bringing your pet across from Changi Ferry Terminal to Pulau Ubin Jetty and back, you must have your pet in an enclosed carrier while onboard the bumboat. Otherwise you may be denied permission to enter or be required to charter the entire bumboat rather than pay the usual per person fee.Frequently Asked QuestionsAre there crocodiles in the mangroves? There are usually no crocodiles towards the eastern side of Singapore, especially due to the high amount of traffic along the channel you will be at. Crocodiles spotted tend to be at the northern side of Singapore like Sungei Buloh as there is far less traffic in the water and the water is usually empty from human activities too.Where and What time should we meet?SerendipET's kayaking guides will meet up with you at Changi Point Ferry Terminal at 0800am by the flagpoles, and they will head into the island together with you to begin the expedition. Are there lockers to store my belongings? There are some public lockers near the jetty on Ubin, however please note they are payable and only take coins. You can also choose to store your belongings with the staff which will watch over your things.

Can we choose a sit-in kayak or are we only allowed sit on top kayaks?
    Claudia, 27 Sep 2023
Hi Claudia, you will be provided with double sit on top kayaks :) Hope it helps!
Hi is there a place we can wash up/clean up after the activity? How wet would we get?
    May, 21 Aug 2023
Hi May, there are toilets with taps on the island for them to wash their feet. No shower facilities, the nearest shower facility will be at Changi beach park. The host usually let customers know to prepare to get wet. But you'll get wet specially the lower half of your body!
Hi we have 4 adults and 2 kids. Can the kids share a kayak with each pair of adults and do they pay the same price?
    En, 11 Aug 2023
Hi En, yes kids can share a kayak with an adult and for price yes they're counted as normal headcount.
Do you need to know how to swim?
    Jessie, 08 Mar 2023
Hi Jessie, We understand that you may be concerned about your ability to swim and we wanted to reassure you that it is not mandatory to be able to swim to participate in our kayaking trip. While the ability to swim is beneficial, we provide life vests to all our customers for their convenience and safety. Hope it helps :)
