4 Days in the Northern Andaman – Thailand’s Best Dives on a Comfy Liveaboard
This 4D3N liveaboard on the Manta Queen 2 lets you explore the northern Andaman Sea without committing to a full week at sea. Cruise through the Similan and Surin Marine Parks and dive at three of Thailand’s most legendary spots: Koh Bon, Koh Tachai, and Richelieu Rock. If conditions allow, you may also visit the hidden gem Boonsung Wreck. In just four days, you’ll enjoy 10 incredible dives, abundant marine life, and top-notch training—all with comfort and safety fully taken care of.What makes this trip stand out? Not only is it one of the more affordable ways to access Thailand’s top dive sites, but it’s also run by one of the most experienced and award-winning dive teams in the region. Their dive centre isn’t just about trips—it’s a PADI 5-Star Instructor Development Centre with over 20 years of experience, multi-language instruction, and top-tier safety standards. Whether you're keen to spot elusive critters like ghost pipefish and ribbon eels, or you're chasing big pelagics like manta rays and whale sharks, this dive crew knows exactly where to take you and how to make every dive count. This trip is best for certified advance open water divers who want a smooth, well-organised diving holiday with loads of marine life, comfortable accommodations, and a lovely crew who’ll make you feel like part of the family. It’s also great for adventurous travellers looking to try their first liveaboard without committing to a long itinerary. What to Expect10 guided dives over 3 days at Koh Bon, Koh Tachai, Richelieu Rock, and possibly Boonsung Wreck (Depends on weather condition)Small dive groups (4–5 divers per guide) for easier pacing and more personal attentionAll essential diving gear and marine park fees included—just pack your swimsuitIncredible biodiversity from nudibranchs, frogfish, ghost pipefish to manta rays and whale sharksCrew with decades of experience and strong focus on safetyComfortable, air-conditioned cabins (twin, double, or 4-bed shared)Freshly cooked Thai-European fusion meals, plus fruit, snacks, and drinks all dayFriendly atmosphere onboard with relaxing common spaces and crew who feel more like familyDive Sites & Marine Life HighlightsKoh Bon – Manta Ray Hotspot: Famous for its manta ray cleaning station, Koh Bon is the top site for spotting Oceanic Manta Rays, especially from February–April. Divers can also encounter leopard sharks, reef sharks, moray eels, octopus, cuttlefish, and vibrant reef fish such as sweetlips and trevallies. The site features a dramatic wall and ridge covered in soft corals and sea fans.Koh Tachai – Big Schools & Pelagic Action : Known for its strong currents and impressive underwater pinnacles, Koh Tachai offers exciting dives with large schools of barracuda, trevally, fusiliers, and other hunters. Occasional sightings of manta rays and whale sharks occur during the season. The site also hosts nudibranchs, shrimps, and healthy soft coral formations around massive granite boulders.Richelieu Rock – Thailand’s Best Marine Biodiversity: Richelieu Rock is one of the richest dive sites in Thailand, renowned for its extraordinary diversity of marine life. Expect huge schools of fish, barracudas, snappers, trevallies, and seasonal encounters with whale sharks. Macro lovers will find ghost pipefish, seahorses, harlequin shrimp, frogfish, nudibranchs, and countless critters hidden within soft corals, anemones, and sea fans.Boonsung Wreck – Fish Clouds & Macro Haven: This shallow wreck is packed with marine life, often so dense you can barely see the structure beneath the schools of snappers, fusiliers, batfish, and trevally. The wreck is home to moray eels, porcupinefish, lionfish, scorpionfish, rays on the sandy bottom, and a wide variety of nudibranchs and small critters — perfect for photographers and macro enthusiasts.Good to KnowDiscover the best of the Similan & Andaman dive sites, where vibrant reefs, big fish action, and stunning pinnacles start from 20–30 meters. To enjoy every dive to the fullest, we recommend having your Advanced Open Water (AOW) certification and don’t worry if you’re Open Water (OW), you’re still welcome on board! You can easily upgrade during the trip with a Deep Adventure Dive (valid for 1 year) or the full Advanced Open Water course. It’s a great way to level up your skills while exploring some of the most beautiful dive sites in Thailand.Dive computer and torch provided; Nitrox, 15L tanks, and 3mm long wetsuits available as add-onsRefresher pool session required for divers with <30 dives who haven't dived in the past year.
