Bring along a family of experts for your Khao Yai wildlife adventure
This family-owned wildlife safari was started in 1995 by a gibbon researcher who worked with Khao Yai National Park and Mahidol University. Now, led by the founder's daughter, Joana, this family owned business still runs with the same rule: no bait, no artificial bird calls, and no rushing. It’s a strong fit for wildlife lovers and families who want a more ethical, knowledgable and flexible way to explore the park from day into night.Because the tour is 100% private, the day moves at your group’s pace instead of a fixed group schedule. You’ll drive slowly in an open-air safari truck, stop where animals are active, and trek 2 to 3km on a route known for wild gibbon sightings. The day also includes the scenic Haew Suwat waterfall and a late-afternoon search for elephants around grasslands and salt licks. After dark, you'll switch to a dedicated national park vehicle. Your guide comes along with a park ranger to look for nocturnal wildlife in key zones like Thanarat and the old golf course area. While wild animal encounters are never guaranteed, the night safari offers an exciting opportunity to look for active nocturnal wildlife like porcupines, nightjars, and even a roaming wild elephant. What to ExpectPrivate full-day Khao Yai safari from around 8:30am to 8:00pm, including the night safariHotel pick-up and drop-off on the Pak Chong side in an open-air safari truck with a roofSlow wildlife spotting drive, viewpoint stops, and a 2 to 3km jungle trek on Trail 3Visit to Haew Suwat waterfall and an evening search for elephants in grassland and salt lick areasNight safari in a dedicated national park vehicle with your guide and a park rangerIncludes park entrance fees, English-speaking guide, lunch, snacks, drinking water, anti-leech socks, raincoats, and accident insuranceGood to KnowWildlife sightings are never guaranteed. The experience follows a strict no-bait, no bird-call approach, so all sightings are naturalThe jungle trek takes about 2 to 3 hours over uneven forest trails. Proper walking shoes or trekking shoes are importantBring long trousers, long sleeves, insect repellent, hat or cap, sunscreen, sunglasses, and any personal medicineThe tour is private, so pacing can be adjusted for families, children, and slower walkersThe night safari follows national park rules, so guests change into a park vehicle before the evening drive and are accompanied by a park ranger in addition to their guide

Joana now leads this family-owned business, continuing a legacy rooted in Khao Yai since 1995. The journey began with her father, a dedicated gibbon researcher who spent years working inside Khao Yai National Park and came to know the forest intimately. He originally founded a small company to help visitors experience the area quietly, observe wildlife in its natural habitat, and truly understand the ecosystem rather than just pass through it. Today, Joana honors that exact same approach. Under her guidance, the focus remains entirely on peaceful, ethical time in nature, driven by a deep respect for Thailand’s wildlife and the natural habitats they call home.
