See a deeper side of Komodo that 99% of travellers miss
[14-21 May 2026 only - 3spots left] Most travellers go to the Komodo islands for the boat trip and do the same itinerary as everyone else. But there's so much more to Komodo. If you're the kind of traveller who wants to go deeper, wants to see what really makes a place tick - this Seek Sophie exclusive trip is for you.During this trip, you'll still see the icons like Padar Island, Pink Beach and the Komodo dragons, but with fewer crowds. You’ll also spend time in places most itineraries don’t include. At Gili Lawa you'll see a hidden savannah viewpoint that is more gorgeous than Padar Island. In Kerora Village, you’ll see how a small, community-run yellow boat programme gets kids to school each day. You’ll take part in coral planting and see how local initiatives are trying to restore reefs that tourism has impacted.Other than the Komodo boat trip, you'll also hike to Wae Rebo a UNESCO village in the clouds, which cannot be reached by cars. Here you'll get to meet with the village elders, learn their traditions and see the most incredible starry night view. It is reminder of a simpler bygone time.To wrap up the trip, we have one of our favourite experiences - a farm-to-table tribal private dining experience. Your host spent years learning from different tribes across Flores, and at her home you’ll walk through her garden, learn about medicinal herbs, and share a simple wood-fired tribal meal made from what’s grown around you (even the tea is brewed from pineapple peels as part of her zero-waste ethos). This 8D7N experience will change how you see not just Komodo, but the world around you. What Makes a Seek Sophie Community Trip Special? We've been to Komodo 25+ times and no one knows Komodo better than us. We wanted to design a trip for curious travellers like us - travellers who don't just want to tick off a bucket list, who want to go much deeper. We planned every tiny detail of this trip for months. What are the existing Komodo itineraries missing? What are the truly special people who are re-imagining Manggarrai culture and cuisines? How do we make sure our travel gives back in a meaningful way to Komodo? This trip is honestly the most special way you can ever experience Komodo. And when we say once-in-a-lifetime, we really mean it - because we may not run this again! Meet your host
Hi, we're Seek Sophie :) We created Community Trips because we’re always on the ground meeting cool people, hearing local stories, and stumbling onto hidden spots. At some point we thought: why not use all that insider knowledge to create the dream trip we’d show our own friends?
Think of Community Trips as a Seek Sophie omakase. We get to go a little wild with our ideas, bring you to places that aren’t usually open to the public, add the thoughtful touches we’ve always dreamt of, and make it feel genuinely special for you.
Every trip also gives back, so your adventure makes a direct impact on the communities and environments you visit.
We’ve loved crafting these trips for you, and we can’t wait to explore with you :)
