A secret Rinjani route, a cosy farmstay, and a whole lot of heart.
[SOLD OUT: 27 May - 2 Jun] If you've been telling yourself "I'll climb Mt Rinjani one day" - let this be that day! This 7D6N Community Trip experience takes you on a slower-paced Rinjani trek with a secret Jurassic Park-like route, and ends with a cosy farmstay where you'll see the real heart of Lombok.Mt Rinjani is known as Southeast Asia's most beautiful climb. But this secret less-crowded route we found is on a whole other level, with incredible Jurassic-Park views. We've also chosen a 4D3N trek for you to take it slow and enjoy the views properly. You'll be led by one of the best guides in Rinjani who prioritise safety over everything and are super encouraging - they believe in you even if you don't believe in yourself. Beyond the epic views and conquering the summit, the food alone (cooked by your porters) is a real highlight! It's easy to just climb Rinjani and leave, but we really want to show you the real heart of Lombok that most travellers don't see. After the climb, we’ll take you to a cosy regenerative farm where locals are healing the land & making a seriously big impact in the community (more below!). It’s the perfect spot to unwind and enjoy yummy meals made from ingredients straight from the garden. You’ll even get a chance to learn cooking from them (their sambal is really good!).One-Off Trip in 2026This Seek Sophie Rinjani Community Trip is happening only once in 2026 [27 May - 2 Jun]. We’re keeping it small at just 10 participants, so it stays personal and intimate, and you'll get to connect with other like-minded travellers! Why We Created Community TripsWe created Community Trips because we’re always on the ground meeting cool people & finding hidden spots. So we thought: why not use all that insider knowledge to create the dream trip we’d take our own friends on? Think of Community Trips as a Seek Sophie omakase. We get to go a little wild with our ideas, bring you to places that aren’t usually open to the public, add the thoughtful touches we’ve always dreamt of, and make it feel really special for you. Every trip also gives back, so your adventure makes a direct impact on the communities and ecosystems you visit. What Makes This Seek Sophie Community Trip Special?1. Climb Mt Rinjani via ToreanTorean is much more beautiful than the usual Rinjani routes (though you'll get to see those too!), and far less crowded. You’ll hike through dramatic cliffs, waterfalls, and hot springs that feel straight out of Jurassic Park. One of the best parts of this route is that you’ll actually hike down and camp by Segara Anak Lake, instead of just seeing it from the viewpoint above.2. Hike with The Best Guides + Amazing FoodYour guides know Rinjani inside out and they will make you feel very safe. Other than the epic views and summiting Mt Rinjani itself, a big highlight of the trek for us is the food that your porters will cook! Everything from Indonesian food like nasi goreng, satays, lontong, to Western cuisine like smoked pasta, burgers and fries, and beautifully cut fruit platters. When we hiked with this team, our food was WAY better than the other hiking groups, and we felt very cared for!3. Zero-Waste Summit InitiativeYour trek directly supports Rinjani’s environment. On every climb, the porters bring down as much trash as they can from the mountain (sometimes even picking up trash from other groups), and they even get paid for the trash they collect. This gives them extra income while encouraging responsible waste management. They are currently the only ones with this initiative, so your climb really does make a difference.4. Cosy Farmstay That Gives BackWe chose this farmstay not just because it's a nice place to say at and the food is good, but because of the impact they are creating. The owners are deeply intentional about using this farmstay as a safe space for kids to hang out, learn organic farming techniques while learning English. They also have bold plans to build a shelter for women which is a huge step in Lombok’s traditional patriarchal society. Here, you'll get a real chance to go deep and connect with locals and understand the complexities of Lombok's culture and traditions. Chat to your hosts about topics from the local sasak traditions, to how child marriages are still prevalent in Lombok today. While you are here you will also get to learn about organic farming techniques while touring their farm as well as partake in a traditional cooking class, where you will learn some delicious local recipes.5. Stress-Free AdventureEverything is taken care of - from transport and meals to experienced local guides and camping gear. All you need to do is enjoy the climb. You will also be accompanied by two Seek Sophie Hosts and experienced local guides throughout the trip.Accommodation All rooms are shared. We’ll group guests by the same gender.Cottage in Senaru (1 night before the trek)You’ll be staying in a cosy guesthouse in Senaru. We will be pairing the same genders together.Camping (3 nights on the mountain, at different spots each night)Spend three nights camping on the mountain under the stars.
