Review Body: We enjoyed a magical three days on the boat tour of Komodo National Park with Perama. We were a couple and were surprised to find that we were the only passengers on the boat, along with our guide and the three boat crew. Everyone on the boat (in our case the crew of 'Alila', captained by The Master) was very welcoming and experienced at their job. We paid about 10 million rupiah for the 2 people, which I thought was great value. We chose this particular itinerary because it included Padar Island, which was a highlight. Other reviewers here complain about the time spent on each island and at first it surprised me too. The islands are strictly controlled - much more so than national parks in Australia. The guides are instructed to bring their guests to the islands for no more than about 2 hours, so be ready for this. The contact with the dragons is also limited. They are wild animals, and they have a big island to hang out on. The walk along the designated track may or may not find many or any dragons, and the ones that hang around the village are lethargic and a bit sad. If you want a longer hiking experience on Komodo, and a better chance to see the dragons, you'll need to arrange for 'adventure trekking'. It costs more of course, and will alter the itinerary. That said, once we'd accepted the limitations of the trekking, we were able to enjoy the experience on offer. The boat was slow, which meant we got to enjoy the beautiful scenery slowly moving by. The swimming was so great, as well as the snorkeling. We were lucky to have a great time swimming with the Manta Rays, and our crew we by far the best at finding them. This itinerary is used by many different companies, so you'll see a lot of other boats moving around the islands in a similar way. We found the whole experience deeply relaxing, in a way that we didn't expect. Spending three days at sea, with beautiful scenery and great food. Nothing to do except the occasional swim or trip to shore. We visited a number of islands in Indonesia on this trip, and our time with Perama in the Komodo Islands is probably the most memorable.

Review Body: We booked directly with Perama following some questionable reviews about third party operators and they answered any queries we had leading up to the trip professionally. We did the 5 day 4 night Komodo tour and it is one of the best things I've ever done. The crew are awesome, they all seem like one big family and are always laughing and having a good time which it contagious. The party at the start was great fun, make sure you join in! Every stop was incredible. The snorkeling at the pink beach, the swimming in an old volcano, the baby white tips, the waterfall jumping, many beaches, sunsets, cave tours, botanical gardens and one of the best experiences was having lunch at a homestay with a lovely family who were so welcoming. Then of course the Komodos. We were incredibly lucky to see 12 on Komodo Island (including a Figg between 2 big ones) and another 6 or 7 on Rinca Island. I saw some of the best views of my life on this trip but be prepared to hike for them. There were some long sails on the boat but it's good to have time to relax. I often get travel sick but only felt sea sick once on the ride back as the wind was really strong, making it very choppy. Food was amazing and traditional. Honestly couldn't sing their praises enough, I would definitely recommend to anyone visiting Indonesia.

Review Body: We booked the boattrip from Lombok to Komodo Island. The crew was super organized and friendly. We felt directly welcomed and cared. Our desicion was to sleep on deck and we don't regret anything. They gave us, for every night, a fresh washed blanket and cleaned the floor/toilets and showers when we made some landscape visits. There were always some sweet little attentions when we came back to the boat, like fried bananas or a refreshing drink. We enjoyed the food as well, diversified, fresh and always delicious! (unfortunately we gained some weight because we liked it so much :)) The program we went through was never boring and we got some interesting facts and informations about the Indonesian culture. Sadly I became sick on the way back to Lombok. In the middle of the night they helped me to get to the next hospital and back. It all worked out so well, only because they didn't spare some Effort for me!! All in one we only can recommend this lovely company, our crew helped us in every situations, we definitely would book this again! Especially Tomy and Iron, our tour guides were really competent and spoke perfect English. Review Body: I went on the 4N 5D Hunting Komodo by Camera round trip with Perama and this was one of the best trips I have ever taken. Being away at sea and living on a boat was so refreshing. The staff were professional and worked extremely hard to make sure everyone was happy. The food was wonderful with more than enough for everyone. There were showers on board too. We got to see many highlights along the way to Flores and back, including of course the komodo dragons but also various beautiful snorkelling spots and treks through islands to breath taking views. Often our sailing trip was the only group of tourists there at places we visited, making it feel like a really personal and private experience. On one particular evening we stopped at Kila beach in Sumbawa to watch the sunset around a bonfire eating roasted corn, whilst we spent one morning rope swinging down waterfalls in the jungle on Moyo island. We saw so much of the beauty of Indonesia in a short space of time. I would highly recommend this trip to anyone who wants a trip with a combination of adventure and relaxation with fun and friendly staff. This will be an experience you will never forget.

Review Body: We took the 3 days / 2 nights trip around the Komodo National Park and it was in general very enjoyable experience. Perama agency arranged the pick-up for us in the hotel in Labuan Bajo and it was on time. We visited Rinca island and we saw Komodo dragons not just near by the main entrance but we were lucky to find them during our 2hours trekking as well. We have seen flying fox by sunset and enjoyed snorkling first day too. Second day we climbed up to the top of the Padar island where view is breathtaking. We continued to Komodo island where we enjoyed snorkling and sunbathing on Pink beach. We decided to not go to see Komodo dragons there once again as we were lucky the first day in Rinca island. Third day we enjoyed swimming and snorkling on Kenawa island once again. The crew and our tour guide were really nice, funny and helpful. The food was delicious, fresh fish, chicken with rice and vegetable, fruits. So even though the eguipment on the boat was basic we didn't expect any luxury and as we are more adventurous nature rather than resort type of travellers we liked it very much.

Review Body: Just got back from an amazing 4n and 5d Komodo tour from Lombok to Flores and back. I highly recommend it, you get to see some incredible parts of Indonesia that have been untouched. I couldn't fault anything with the tour the staff were exceptional and helped you with anything you needed, the food was also amazing and the chef wasn't too bad to look at as well ;) the party they have on the third night was also a highlight and all the staff joined in and got everyone up dancing. The Komodo dragons was the main highlight of the tour and as scary as they were they were fascinating animals and we got great insight on how they live from the Rangers. Some of the islands we visited were amazing and we also got to visit a waterfall and a salt water lake. The sea was fairly calm so managed to sleep well most nights. After seeing some of the reviews of this tour we were very apprehensive, but there is literally nothing we could fault. Massive thank you for the staff at perama tours that made our experience lots of love Rachael and Elizabeth xxx

Review Body: We had an amazing time during the 5 days tour exploring Komodo and different islands on the way. The crew is super nice (especially Edy and Hondra who spent the most time with us) and made us feel welcomed and comfortable during the trip. The food was really tasty and everyday was slightly different which was a great touch. We enjoyed all the stops during the trip, some of them are more beautiful than the others but definitely a good mix of places to see. Keep in mind, the first day leaving from Lombok, the tour is mostly around Lombok island so not really on the boat. We stayed in the cabin, which was comfortable and more private, but deck seemed pretty good as well. The only thing that could be improved is the snorkelling equipment. It’s pretty used so we were struggling with it at some points. Hopefully they could get some new ones. In case, bring your own.

Review Body: Had a wonderful trip with Perama. Stella in main office had everything well organised before the trip. Really appreciate her patience in responding to all my enquires - believe me, i had tons of 'what if' questions and she patiently answered all my queries. Upon arrival in Flores, all local team was exceptionally experience and helpful. We went to Rangko Cave on Day 1, Komodo and islands around on Day 2 and stopped by local market and Mirror Cave before airport on Day 3. Special thanks to Ms Ningsih, the tour guide, the driver and Jarvis - the speedboat captain. Will highly recommend to anyone who is planning a trip to komodo!

Review Body: I had an amazing experience on the Lombok-Flores-Lombok (5 days 4 night) boat trip. The staff and guides were all very friendly and spoke good English. The food was very yummy and there was always fresh fruit. We visited amazing quiet islands, beautiful beaches and saw many Komodo dragons on Rinca Island. The facilities are basic but decent. It makes for a memorable experience. The snorkelling is insane. The corals and fish are all so colourful and the water was crystal clear. Perama brings you to some very cool islands where no other boats go.

Review Body: We did the explore Komodo National Park tour (3 days) we were hugely impressed by the value and professionalism of Perama tours and would recommend them to anyone. The boat was very comfortable we had a private cabin with fan, a fully outfitted bathroom, excellent food and free tea/coffee any time we wanted. They provided a cool box with ice to keep beer and snacks in. Sten Gusdin was our guide and he was not just highly knowledgable but very entertaining and a super photographer. Review Body: We stayed 3 days 2 nights on a boat with Perama Tour and our guide was pak Dedi. He had a very good time with him and the crew. The crew were very attentive and very good cook. Pak Dedi had really good advices and was interesting. The cabins and the shower on the boat were really basic no comfort but it was ok for few days. We strongly recommend this trip in flores Komodo. Pink Beach Ringga the manta point are very nice. Komodo island is less interesting than Ringga you can skip it if you don’t have time.

The food onboard was really good and different for each day. The crew were really helpful and funny. We visited many islands and saw the Komodo dragons on both Komodo and Rinca Island. Review Body: Got back from the five day four night tour and figured I'd give my honest review as there only seem to be a few. We booked the deck as the cabins were far too expensive The first day we departed from Lombok and traveled by bus. The transportation picked us up from our hostel early and took us to the Perama tour location where we waited roughly an hour for others so we could all board the large bus. The only thing I wish I had known was that the park entrance fee (roughly 1,400,000 for the two of us) was NOT included in the cost of the tour (which I found a little ridiculous). All meals WERE included and freshly cooked, including vegetarian options. They also had coolers that had fresh water and beer/coke/sprite if you wanted to purchase for a reasonable price. We set off first to a "local market" which had some monkeys that we fed some candy to. Seemed a little gimmicky and random and out of place, but whatever. Spent about 30 mins there and then headed to a local garden that Perama has helped with their money that was pretty informative. THe guides at the garden were informative and friendly. Then headed to a local village where we learned about rice farming and enjoyed a freshly prepared meal. Afterwards headed toward the port of the eastern side of Lombok and played some games with the locals and had dinner prepared for us on one of the decomissioned ships. We then boarded the boat around 2100 and set sail. Keep in mind if you sleep in the lower deck like we did, you will occasionally get wet from the waves. The crew attempts to help by lowering the tarp but occasionaly you will get some splashes. The next day we headed toward a small island where we saw a fresh water lake in the middle and snorkled for about two hours, and then set sail again. The third day we hit Komodo Island, where we saw several komodo dragons. However, we only spent about two hours here, which was kind of a bummer. It seemed like the tour was rushed and we spent more time in the gift shop...Afterwards we headed to a pink beach which was beautiful with some great snorkeling. Unfortunately it was also filled with a few other tours so we didnt get to enjoy any privacy. Afterwards we headed to labuan bajo for a few hours and then said farewell to those who didnt do the return trip. Here we greeted new members and had a "party". While the party could indeed seem awkward, I think it depends on the other travelers. This boat was filled with all late 20s to early 30s backpackers so we all got along and the party was quite fun. Also the crew members were amazing and made it an even more enjoyable experience. To all the people saying its awkward and weird, keep in mind the party is just part of the itinerary and has to happen. These guys have to do the same dance and same weird party every trip. Why not just make the best of it and enjoy it? We had a blast. The next day is spent sailing and rinca island to see more komodo dragons, then to another island to snorkle, all which was great as well. You could also hike roughly 15 minutes to a great viewpoint. The 5th day was spend mostly sailing and then to a small village with a waterfall and a rope swing and a private island which takes roughly 15 minutes to walk around. This island had the best snorkleing of the entire trip with beautiful reef everywhere. Me and my gf loved the trip. The crew was amazing, the food was excellent and fresh, and the stops were beautiful. The only downfall was that we only spent about an hour or two at each location, and then spent 5-7 hours sailing again. The sailing can get a little rough and boring, especially if everyone doesnt really interact. No activities are planned for sailing so most people occupied themseves sleeping, sunbathing, reading, drinking, etc. Honestly this trip was one of the highlights of my two months in Indonesia, and I would certainly do it agian.

Review Body: We had booked an early flight ourselves to be on time for the punctual 9am pickup by our guide Stanislaus. We drove to the harbour, stopping for snorkeling equipment (I must say, it was rather unexpected, that we had to pay for it!) and ATM to make sure, we have enough cash for the entrance fee to the park (two days, 350k p.p./per entry). The boat was the typical local trip boat with three staff. Captain Andri (?) steered us safely to a nice viewpoint (small, but steep hike) and then to the first snorkeling spot with very nice corals! Then followed Rinca Island and the first dragon encounter. A few of them were close to the village, attracted by food (smell)... We saw some juvenles in the open space as well as a female waiting to lay her eggs. Truly impressive, however the absence of the males due to mating season (June to August) was obviously a bit disappointing, but that's nature. We continued to see an awesome sunset nearby and observed many thousands of fruit bats flying off, which was stunningly beautiful. Overnight we got to experience our cabin, which was truly basic and it felt a bit exposed (no curtains). Also the engine noise for teh generator during the night was really loud. The food was soso, just always a lot of greasy stuff, they did cater for a vegan though, which was ok. I informed Perama about the standard on the boat and they will look into it for the future. The second day started with an early hike, again rather steep, but rewarded with a stunning view (Pulau Padar). We continued to the Pink Beach, but stopped on the way at a much pinker beach for a snorkel, which was great. Pink beach self was ok, nothing to write home about. On Komodo Island we tried our luck again to find dragons. This was firstly disappointing, as there were zero dragons visible (also due to much denser vegetation on this island), not even close to the houses. At the end however we did see three dragons from close near some other houses and another one by accident free roaming (or rather just sitting there, motionless and looking like a root of a tree, as they do) by the sea. We managed to shoot great pictures:-) Another greasy dinner. As my stomach had a problem, I opted for plain rice and bananas. And another night in the cabin on the hard bed with very basic water supply. Happy to get up in the morning, I jumped in for a swim to stretch my muscles, before we headed for Manta point through a crazy current, which Andri mastered very well. Manta point was fantastic, we saw 4 Mantas and a turtle, but the current was strong and exhausting. Very worth while! But again, we were lucky to see them, it's not a zoo;-) We then continued to Kanawa Island for snorkeling, again beautiful coral, we loved it. The trip back to Labuan Bajo was very shaky due to wind and waves, but we made it safely back. Thanks for a great experience! A few hints: - make sure you are fit for this trip, without the hikes and snorkeling, it isn't the same - inquire about the boat, the cabin and the food, so you know what you can expect - inquire about the extra cost (e.g. snorkeling gear, entrance fees) and what to bring with you (sunscreen, hat, swimming gear, maybe towel)

Review Body: My friend and I booked the 2 Day/ 2 Night boat tour from Komodo (Labuan Bajo) to Lombok. The tour itself was great! We booked the deck class. The mattresses and sheets/pillows were sufficient and what we expected for the "backpacker" class. The first night you sleep out in the harbor so the boat can leave around 5 am to get out to Rinca Island by 8 am. We arrived a little late, we had booked dives and weren't able to meet at the official starting time but this wasn't an issue. The boat was still at the pier when we arrived and dinner was still available for us as well. The welcome party was pretty entertaining. The customers on the boat weren't all that into it but the crew and the staff from the office in town had a great time and were very entertaining, doing line dances and trying their hardest to get the rest of us on the dance floor. Sleeping was fine. Even the second night when you're traveling across open water, in our case wasn't rough (though we heard it can be), they lower plastic shades to block the wind which kept us from freezing on the deck. The stop in Rinca is optional. It's an additional fee and we had already done the dragon trekking on Komodo so we skipped it. The other snorkeling stops and the waterfall was good fun. There's a rope swing at the waterfall and you can jump off one of the platforms off the boat as well. Nothing felt rushed as there is ample time for the activities. The meals were pretty tasty - local Indonesian fare - and plenty of food. The bathrooms were the only downside, but it's to be expected on a boat. Everything is just always wet in these combined toilet/shower rooms. The only issue we had was when we arrived at the port in Lombok, they told us they couldn't drop us at our accommodation even after we had confirmed with both the office in Labuan Bajo and the crew on the boat that it shouldn't be an issue, Transportation to the west side of the island is included in the trip which is a 3 hour drive from the east side of the island. Our accommodation was a 10 minute drive from the harbor and therefore not included. There was a lot of arguing back and forth (some of the first "not nice" Indonesians I've come across) resulting in one of the staff charged us an additional 100,000 Rupiah to personally drive us to our accommodation. I thought is was a little unprofessional. Too bad this is how the trip ended.
