Review Body: The hosts were very welcoming and warm, and the place was really quaint and nice! The whole family helps out with the place, and it just felt so cosy and nice. Everyone was so sweet and kind, and the food and drinks were also so good. The stay had a menu for other services like nails and massage as well. They also have quite a few thoughtful notes about being sustainable and intentional with what they chose for the stay. The stay had a lot of mosquitoes but they provide mosquito repellent lotion and a mosquito netting over the bed! In the toilet there’s also a sign that says to cover the mirror after use with the cloth they provide because they have wildlife that come in and peck at the mirror if they see their reflection. Little things like that make the place seem very homely and well thought out. The tour brought us to a different side of Mekong, which was really interesting to see. We got to see the pottery kilns, learn how to weave baskets with water hyacinth, and had a delicious meal at a local family's place.

Review Body: 3 of us have had a great experience in Vinh Long and especially at Mekong Pottery Homestay. Although we only stay at homestay, there are 2 D1n (20-21/06/2020) but we like our belly so much that we should nominate a little bit for reference, otherwise people think that all foreigners are shy hehe :D * Back to the position: Homestay near Dinh Khao ferry so it's convenient to go to Cu Lao, and this area is still in the city. Vinh Long so even though the evening around is quite quiet but want to run into the center of the city to play for less sadness, it's also carefree. I see that instead of staying at the central hotel, it's more air to stay like this :)) * About space: this is the best. Walking into homestay is only able to admire ?? Oh my God, why so cute <3 ?? See the previous picture and you can imagine it but it's more beautiful than the picture. From the cool green garden, wide patio, super nice decor room, bright to the WC can see the clouds and also beautiful. Most especially being decorated by the mother and sister - a normal person who doesn't specialize in art architecture - but is super good. The common concept is to be decorated with brick, ceramics and intimate nature. If it's raining, I'm afraid to go out on the street, I'll make a nest at homestay for one day. I will put some pictures in the comment to say more carefully. * About service: this is also very satisfactory, mommy, the boss is so cute with dimples and the mother is so gentle and good in the West. The family welcomes me from the time I inbox to book until we send us off to go to Sai Gon, it feels like home here. Homestay carefully prepares full towels to wash shampoo and shower gel anti-mosquito blabla. If you need advice on what to eat, just ask the mother and daughter of the owner. Well even homestay provide some services such as car rentals, tours to experience what only native people know... We don't have much time so we can't go but if possible Everyone remember to try. The boss has full career in tour guide (specialized in only Asia's university) and is super mindful of Vinh Long homeland so you won't be disappointed :)) Ah the most surprising thing is that homestay will give each Guests have a very meaningful memory bandana, lol very thoughtful :" > * Price: With a lot of super cool things but room price is very pleasant. We ordered at 20 % promotion so the room price of 3 people is only 507 k / night, separating each one super cheap (even though we haven't had promotion, it's still cheap :))) Time Check-in time is 14 g and check out 12 pm the next day but we arrived early at 11 pm the other day and paid late (17 pm the next day). Despite this, the room is empty so homestay still lets us get room early and the colonel pays late without collecting anything :" > Motorcycle rental price is 170 k / motorbike and 120 k / bike scared. Room price will include breakfast but we like to go to the restaurant so the owner invited me to eat tea at noon hehe :)) * The whole long thing on the skillful people read that I am a homestay owner who is invisible advertisement or something but I'm really just a customer, like flying dancing also because of vivid places in Vietnam and stop in many homestay but to If you like your belly, you will write a long review, there are only a few places left. Objectively, there are also things you should consider when visiting Mekong Pottery: - Homestay only has 2 rooms (1 rooms 3 persons and 1 rooms 2 persons) so if people go out of 5 persons or want to be in the same room, there are more than 3 persons This place is not suitable. Even because it's cute, but there's too little room, it's easy to run out of place soon. - Due to the garden space with many plants and characteristics of the West, mosquitoes often invite each other to dance, everyone should apply cream or mosquito spray and night then remove the screen (princess style is also pretty) Let's talk to each other. It's not the insects from mosquitoes to strange creatures that keep coming back or where flying into bed all the time >.< That's it, we are enthusiastically nominating Mekong Pottery Homestay

Review Body: Liked · If we could rate this homestay with an 11 we would. Yennie and her mom just started this homestay so all is brand new. So much positive things to say so here is a recap of our experience. But let’s start with one of the best things (besides feeling at home) : - Yennie is a real local so she knows everything about the area. But she also has a degree in tourisme which she got at Saigon University. During her study she was also working as a tour guide. It’s not very hard to understand now why you’ll get the best of the best local experience. To make it even better she designed her own tour/experience for you. Which includes a bike tour through the Mekong Delta area, a boat ride with a local and a lunch at locals. You’ll never get this with a regular tour agent and you won’t experience this when you get out there by yourselves. Take the tour, you will not regret. - they are the most kind and best hosts we’ve ever met. - On their property they built 2 lovely rooms with each their own bathroom and little terrace in front of the rooms. Everything is decorated really nice including the garden. Their eye for detail is beyond. Even the soap in the bathroom is handmade by them. - the home cook meals by mom are the best. Everything is daily fresh from the market. Try the fried fish. Breakfast is great. You can choose daily from their homemade (vietnamese) menu. - in front of the house mom has a coffeeshop. So she will make you a killer coffee. Any style! - you can use the bikes for free. Renting a motorbike is also possible and arranged within a second. - the location is perfect: 10 minutes biking to the city, 10 minutes biking to the rural villages. And the home and garden itself are very peaceful as well. - everything is really clean. - Yennie and her mom where very helpful. We got tips for other city’s, they arranged us bus tickets etc. - value for money? You’ll get more than you pay for. We would recommend this homestay anytime to anybody. Disliked · -

Review Body: Liked · I loved everything about this place. It truly delivered the real family vibe of the local without lacking a genuine privacy. The location is super convenient. In between of everything. Free bikes are always available to reach anywhere I want. They also have rental scooters for those in need. Compared to other lodges on An Binh island, this place is super easy to reach (not relying on river to arrive) as it's right on the main street. Yennie and her mom are the best hosts that I've ever met. Her English is incredible, which helped me learn a lot about the culture and history. I was lucky enough to book her cycling tour. This is literally the best tour I have ever joined so far. Love the boat trip (totally private with Yennie), she showed me a lot about all kinds of plants along the river. We made our way to a local market in the middle of the river and got interesting insights about a typical wet market in Vietnam. I truly adore the architecture. So elegant, innovative with lots of details and charming touch. All the plants, the puppy, the flowers made the place such a lovely and sweet accommodation. It's very peaceful watching the life go by in her mom's coffee shop. She made the best Vietnamese coffee ever (trust me, I never had such amazing drink before). And also their home made dinner. The fried chicken wings is hands down, omg, like addictive!!! I really recommend this dish!. The design in general is very thoughful. Beautiful and practical at the same time. I actually scanned through other homestays in the area and decided to book with Mekong Pottery Homestay for a reason. This is the best place that ever hosted us! And for those afraid that Covid 19 is spreading, the tropical heat and airy atmosphere here make it the best hideout in your vacation! So book it right away! Wish I could stay more with Yennie's family. Bit Ill definitely come back and recommend for anyone needed! Disliked · Dont even have one to hate!

Review Body: Liked · - Location: Excellent location if you want to see the island and city center with a snap of a finger. The homestay is in between a less-touristy island (like right next to it, really); and very close to downtown, which is 5 mins on scooters. Very serene surroundings. I felt very secured and peaceful. There's a coffee shop of Yennie's mom at the front for 20 years! Her coffee is so tasty and strong, with lots of other drinks to choose from. - Room: I've never seen such an innovative and thoughtful decoration. Yennie and her mom put a lot of effort and time into the decoration. Like literally every corner I look at is beautiful. The garden is so breezy, lots of petals and fresh. And the bathroom!!! I mean you won't even find this kind of bathroom in a five-star hotel. Open-air with lots of greens inside, even the mirror, the pottery! And of course you still feel secure and private! - Staff: Yennie and her mom are the nicest people I've met in Vietnam. Yennie's English is incredible, which makes everything easy to communicate. They showed me a lot of cool places to eat and drink. They took time to accompany and talk to me, which never made me feel alone. I also learned a lot from her. Before arriving I asked quite a lot of questions regarding transportation, and Yennie arranged everything for me! - Food Breakfast is very diverse with lots of choices. Unlike other places they treat you like basic bread and egg. Here Yennie gave us many options to meet our needs. That's thoughtful! - Tour: Yennie is a licensed tour guide who left Saigon to be here pursuing her dream! I joined her self-designed cycling tour to the river and island. She showed me a lot of things during the tour (her granduncle's pottery factory, all the plants along the river, the local market and we ended up eating pancake?? like Vietnamese banh xeow? (sorry I may get it wrong). But it was so yummy. Disliked · Nothing! The whole stay was absolutely perfect!

Review Body: I am making a recommendation for anyone who wants an authentic visit to the Mekong Delta. We have had 4 nights at the @MekongPotteryHomestay in Vinh Long The homestay is run by Yennie who speaks perfect fluent English, the 2 rooms are beautiful and her mum cooks authentic Vietnamese breakfast and dinner here , which are wonderful. We did 2 trips out with Yennie, a street food tour in the evening by bicycle and a bicycle trip around the area which took in a pottery factory, visit to a local family with banana tasting, a trip down the river in a wooden rowing boast, visit to the market and finishing with lunch in a family run restaurant on a plantation. Yennie is very knowledgeable about local history and she is fun to be around. Her communication is perfect and she helped us organise our bus and taxi transport to Vinh Long and from here to HCMC and other places we wanted to go ( booked us in the spa, called for taxis). We have learned some Vietnamese phrases from her and also about the food and what to order. The whole experience has been amazing, the best thing we have done in 2 months of travelling. I found this homestay from a recommendation on this group, so I am passing on the favour. Yennie is a member of this group — at Mekong Pottery Homestay

Review Body: Liked · it was our best stay since we arrived in Vietnam. We were greeted with a juice. The room is beautiful, decorated with great taste, there is a fan and mosquito net. The large bed has pillows all soft (a real joy). The private bathroom is also very well decorated. The whole thing corresponds exactly to the photos. We had booked dinner on site and it was so good that we then had all our meals too. For breakfast, you ask what you want and we got extra homemade cakes. Also throughout our stay, lots of little touches to try the local fruits. We took a bike ride with Yennie, the owner, who is also a guide and she took us to the Mekong riverbank by boat. What was great was that we were alone with her and the batelian. It was fantastic. We crossed the Mekong by ferry with all the local workers. The captain invited us to the flight deck! We felt like VIPs----A lovely off the beaten path experience, in the heart of Vietnamese life. Disliked · nothing, everything was perfect

Review Body: We stayed at the Mekong Pottery Homestay for a couple of nights and felt very comfortable with Yennie, her lovely mother and family. We really liked the loving design of the garden and rooms. Yennie speaks very good, understandable, fluent English and has helped us a lot with our trip through Vietnam and made our stay extremely pleasant. We were able to approach her with many questions / concerns at any time and she gave us the best advice and support. The trip with Yennie by bike and by boat through the Mekong Delta was really great, very interesting and educational. We were also allowed to visit the family pottery and learned a lot about clay/pottery, the country, the people and also the delicious food. We would love to come back, the homestay is highly recommended. Thank you for this vacation experience and enrichment. Kind regards Sascha&Marie

Review Body: Liked · Lovely and intricate architecture. - Excellent location, no travelling hassle. The host provided me with detailed instruction regarding transportation and things to do around. - Hospitable host family. I lived right next to the host's house which is great for a real homestay experience without lacking privacy. - Food is amazing in general, they offer many choices. - Very peaceful and secure neighborhood. Disliked · - The roosters coo early in the morning, we are not used to it at first but it's fun to experience that local vibe. - We were afraid of mosquitoes at the beginning but it was not a big deal since they provided us with a mosquito net and anti-mosquito lotion as well. So all in all it was a pleasant stay!

Review Body: I've never seen a unique architecture in a homestay like this. That's why we decided to stay for a night and even extended to 2 nights before heading to Can Tho. The open-space design lets us connect more with the nature. The garden is super stunning. I love the cool bathroom. They make excellent coffee and food. The host and her mom are so kind, especially the girl with great English and a humorous dog. Highly recommend!

Yennie and her mother were wonderful hosts and Tom the dog was the cutest. Disliked · There was not a store nearby to sell ice cream, but that was also nice to be out of the city center.

Meet your host

Yennie is a warm and thoughtful host who left the busy streets of Saigon in 2019 to settle in the peaceful Mekong Delta with her mum. Together, they’ve created a cosy homestay that truly feels like visiting family. With years of experience as a local guide, Yennie knows the region inside out and enjoys helping guests see the real South Vietnam. Their home isn’t just a place to sleep — it’s where visitors can share meals from their garden, try traditional pottery, and learn about local life firsthand. Built with care using local materials and powered by solar energy, the homestay reflects their deep respect for both the environment and their culture.
