Before I experienced Malihom myself, I've read multiple positive reviews on the service and place overall. In preparation to the estate, I packed some food and drinks, worried I might not have access to enough food due to the secluded location of Malihom. However, I cannot be more surprised by the generous servings of food (prepared so deliciously and healthy too!) and the service which was provided by the staff. Shoutout to Masud for going above and beyond to provide us assistance in any way possible, and the receptionist staff (did not get his name unfortunately) for being so helpful during our check-in process. Disliked · If they could offer lunch &amp; dinner for a cheaper price it would be certainly better &amp; more guests would opt to eat at the property instead of going out of the property.

Malihom offers a terrific way to experience the sheer beauty of this special part of the island.

Having read the reviews, we were prepared for the (very) steep drive up the hill, but felt comfortable with the ability of the driver - who was arranged by Malihom - to deliver us safely. In fact I would say that the journey there is part of the experience, marking the transition from the busy urban development of Georgetown and the main highway through to the airport, through to a uniquely imagined and realised escape.

We were lucky enough to be the only guests for the two nights we were there, and we revelled in the chance to soak up the many qualities of Malihom - its lovely rustic accomodation, the beautifully designed and maintained landscaping, the pure air and water, and the host of peaceful spaces in which to lounge, relax and dream.

The staff are special too. They clearly share a love and commitment to the place while also demonstrating warmth and professionalism. It was a privilege to be looked after by Rana in particular, who is a lovely person and did an excellent job of anticipating and looking after our needs.

The food was a perfect match for the surroundings - honest and healthy, homey but also refined, with large servings that were meticulously prepared and presented.

The pool is crystal clear and the gardens are meticulously kept, full of plants that are an absolute joy for any horticultural enthusiast. So even before you settle down to a meal in the lovely, open-sided restaurant, you feel relaxed and at home - and that feeling is only enhanced by the charm of the people looking after you.

Liked · Stunning setting. Mixture of luxury and simplicity. Breakfast was outstanding, there is only a set menu for lunch and supper; delicious even if not very varied. Beautiful swimming pool, enough space between the barns. It seems that each barn had something amazing in it's own right (sunset, sunrise, bath outside, stunning view, etc.) The beds were very comfortable.

 Difficult to contact, the main number always reaches an answering machine with no recording facility, emails are answered the next workig day.

Liked · Incredible location. Quiet, far away from everything. Lovely swimming pool to relax, very relaxing chairs at your room / cottage where you can enjoy the view. Good (Chinese) food and super staff.

Disliked · The location is fantastic, but far away from everything. A ride to Georgetown takes about an hour. So you don't go to town for a while. The food is really great, but I have been there about 4 whole days and then it is always the same. Breakfast changed, but lunch and dinner can be more varied... (Which does not alter the fact that it is not delicious! :)

Everything is a plus here. You know you are in for a treat when you get an informal, friendly welcome as though you are walking into a friend's house. Every staff is trained to go above and beyond to give the best of hospitality. My son felt at home during our short stay here. The valley view from the property is a must-see. A special shout out to the manager.

Liked · The rooms are amazing, amazing views from all angles of the property. Pool is amazing. Nice, quiet and relaxing and staff were very kind and helpful. It was just what we needed after a lot of travelling.

Disliked · It was all great, the food was nice but could be improved as it was all quite basic and needs more variation.

This is a very isolated resort however, so keep this in mind if you’re wanting options for food and things to do. As a resort to relax and take in the scenery however, I couldn’t ask for anything more.
