Spacious diving liveaboard with private cabins & top Thai dive sites
If you’re an experienced diver looking to tick off Thailand’s most iconic dive sites in actual comfort, this 5D4N liveaboard on MV Gentle Giant is the dream. While many Similan boats cram you into tiny cabins and shared bathrooms, Gentle Giant spoils every guest with a private en-suite cabin, full AC, and space to actually stretch your legs.Across five days you’ll hop between the gems of the Andaman Sea—Similan Islands, Koh Bon, Koh Tachai, Richelieu Rock, and Boonsoong Wreck. Think manta rays circling Koh Bon, trevallies and barracudas going full National Geographic at Tachai Pinnacle, and maybe even a friendly whale shark cruising past Richelieu Rock. Add in ghost pipefish, harlequin shrimp, turtles, batfish squads, and coral gardens bursting with colour—it’s basically underwater chaos in the best way. You’ll be guided by seasoned divemasters who know every nook of these sites, leading you through 14 epic dives on a perfectly planned route. This trip is built for Advanced Open Water divers who want variety, comfort, and zero stress. If you like having your transfers, meals, snacks, Wi-Fi, and everything else sorted—while you focus on diving and living your best boat life—this is 100% your kind of liveaboard. What to Expect14 dives at the best sites in Thailand, including Similan Islands, Koh Bon, Richelieu Rock & Boonsoong Wreck1 divemaster for every 5 divers—so you’ll get tons of personal attention, whether you’re exploring open walls or hidden critter spotsEnglish and Chinese-speaking dive masters to guide you through every diveExpect vibrant reefs, turtles and reef sharks, vibrant corals, the chance to meet manta rays and whale sharks, massive schools of fish, plus incredible macro life around a wreck.Private en-suite cabins with air-conditioning—no shared bathrooms!Spacious boat with large sundeck and comfy air-conditioned loungeAll meals, snacks, soft drinks, Wi-Fi, and transfers includedFriendly, professional divemasters and a well-known among the Thai diving communityDive Sites & Marine Life HighlightsKoh Bon – Manta Ray Hotspot: Famous for its manta ray cleaning station, Koh Bon is the top site for spotting Oceanic Manta Rays, especially from February–April. Divers can also encounter leopard sharks, reef sharks, moray eels, octopus, cuttlefish, and vibrant reef fish such as sweetlips and trevallies. The site features a dramatic wall and ridge covered in soft corals and sea fans.Koh Tachai – Big Schools & Pelagic Action: Known for its strong currents and impressive underwater pinnacles, Koh Tachai offers exciting dives with large schools of barracuda, trevally, fusiliers, and other hunters. Occasional sightings of manta rays and whale sharks occur during the season. The site also hosts nudibranchs, shrimps, and healthy soft coral formations around massive granite boulders.Richelieu Rock – Thailand’s Best Marine Biodiversity: Richelieu Rock is one of the richest dive sites in Thailand, renowned for its extraordinary diversity of marine life. Expect huge schools of fish, barracudas, snappers, trevallies, and seasonal encounters with whale sharks. Macro lovers will find ghost pipefish, seahorses, harlequin shrimp, frogfish, nudibranchs, and countless critters hidden within soft corals, anemones, and sea fans.Boonsung Wreck – Fish Clouds & Macro Haven: This shallow wreck is packed with marine life, often so dense you can barely see the structure beneath the schools of snappers, fusiliers, batfish, and trevally. The wreck is home to moray eels, porcupinefish, lionfish, scorpionfish, rays on the sandy bottom, and a wide variety of nudibranchs and small critters — perfect for photographers and macro enthusiasts.Similan Islands: Feature multiple world-class dive sites such as Elephant Head Rock, West of Eden and Christmas Point. Expect colorful soft & hard corals, turtles, reef sharks, barracuda, trevally, moray eels, and plenty of macro creatures like nudibranchs and pipefish.Good to KnowWe welcome guests with Open Water certification on this trip. However, the dive sites on this route including the Similan Islands, Richelieu Rock, Koh Bon, Koh Tachai, and the Boon Sung Wreck — typically range from 20–30 meters in depth with moderate currents, making them perfect for deeper and more advanced diving.
