Step inside Singapore’s hidden seafood world before dawn
This is a super rare chance to step inside one of Singapore’s most restricted and least-seen spaces. You’ll step inside Jurong Fishery Port, one of Singapore’s most restricted spaces, during peak market activity. Instead of seeing seafood at the restaurant or wet market end, you’ll be at the source, watching how it is landed, traded, priced, and sent across the island before the city fully wakes up.This is not a polished food tour. It’s a behind-the-scenes look at the hidden system that quietly feeds Singapore every day. You’ll see how seafood is received, sorted, and sold in a real wholesale environment, and hear the stories of the merchants and distributors who keep it moving. The tour also connects the port to Singapore’s wider food history. You’ll trace the fish trade from the old Ellenborough Market to today’s wholesale hub, uncover lesser-known heritage stories, and hear a few true-crime tales along the way. There’s free time at the end if you want to try buying seafood yourself. What to expectWitness the fish landing and peak market activityHeritage Insights: Trace the roots of the fish trade from Ellenborough Market to the present-day port.Behind-the-Scenes Access: Learn how seafood is received, sorted, priced, and distributed throughout SingaporeAtmospheric scenes of this bustling siteTrue crime storiesFree and easy time to have a go at purchasing your seafoodGood to knowWe'll be walking through the wet and slippery Jurong Fishery Port market, so please be fit, bring an umbrella in case of rain, and wear covered shoes with good grip that you don't mind getting dirty. Remember to bring your IC, Work Pass or Passport (for foreigners and tourists) to enter this secured area. It'll be fun!
