Handcraft delicate Japanese sweets, sip on matcha, and slow down together
This private Nerikiri workshop is a peaceful pause from daily life, where you’ll learn to craft delicate Japanese sweets by hand. Perfect for celebrating someone special in your life, or a meaningful way to bond with your team.Nerikiri are traditional Japanese wagashi - delicate, plant-based sweets made from white bean paste and glutinous rice flour. They’re crafted to resemble elements of nature like flowers, leaves, or seasonal motifs, and are often served with matcha during tea gatherings. Each piece is shaped and coloured by hand, turning humble ingredients into edible art. What makes this experience so special? It’s fully customised to your group - from a fun birthday theme, to something more reflective for team wellness. The lovely hosts will tailor your Nerikiri designs just for you. Plus, you’ll enjoy them after with a warm cup of matcha in a quiet, welcoming space. The beauty of this experience is that crafting Nerikiri is a form of work meditation – slow, mindful and creative. Rooted in centuries-old Japanese tradition, it invites you to stay present, notice the details and appreciate the passing seasons. Guided by warm and experienced hosts, you’ll learn to pause and find stillness through the gentle rhythm of making something with your hands. What to ExpectDesign and create 4 customisable, beautifully handcrafted Nerikiri sweetsPrivate workshop tailored to your group’s theme or vibeSlow-crafted experience with cultural insights into the mindful art of wagashiEnjoy traditional matcha tea with your finished creationsGuided by warm hosts in a tranquil and cosy studio Good to KnowPlease book at least 3 weeks in advance so your designs can be customisedThis is a vegan-friendly workshop – all ingredients are plant-basedIdeal for small private groups (up to 6 people)Not a cooking class – you’ll be using pre-prepared dough and fillingsTransport to the studio is not included, details shared upon booking

Cindy and Geri run a cosy little studio where they share their love for crafting Nerikiri – a delicate and beautiful Japanese sweet. Starting in 2025, they’ve created a space that’s all about slowing down and enjoying simple moments. Their workshops aren’t just about the sweets – they’re a quiet chance to step away from the rush and make something by hand. Thoughtful and down-to-earth, Cindy and Geri welcome everyone with warmth, making it easy to feel at home while learning something new.
