Gastrogeography of Singapore
Founded in 2015 by two creatives, this host grew out of an art collective project for the Singapore Arts Biennale. After the installation ended, they kept exploring what grows and can be eaten on Singapore’s streets and green spaces. Working with urban farmers and public parks, they often received surplus produce and turned it into sauces, dips, jams and drinks before it went to waste. One founder came from business, consulting and behavioural science, but found recipe-making through memories of a grandmother who cooked cleverly and wasted nothing. Today, they help people see Singapore’s edible landscape differently, while sharing food and supporting others doing similar community-based work.
