<p>Chai has spent about 15 years guiding travellers through Khao Sok’s rainforest. He grew up nearby in Surat Thani, so the park’s trails, lake and wildlife are part of what he knows best. After many years guiding for other companies, he set out on his own so he could shape trips in a more thoughtful way — slower, more flexible, and focused on really understanding the forest. He mainly leads trips himself, including an overnight trek on a deeper trail that few guides use. He also trains young guides from the local community, passing on the same careful, unhurried style.</p>
