Selva's Untold Stories
Selva is a self-taught naturalist and one of Langkawi’s most experienced nature guides. Having spent decades exploring the island, he has witnessed its landscapes, wildlife and communities change over the years — giving him a rare perspective on Langkawi’s natural and cultural heritage.
With his deep knowledge of plants, wildlife and local history, Selva brings nature to life through stories and observations, helping guests notice the details they would otherwise miss. His daughter, Dharkshen, adds her own perspective through her work in communication, diving and marine conservation in the Celebes Sea.
Together, they create experiences that encourage people to explore with curiosity and care. Selva also believes in leaving nature better than we found it — he regularly collects litter while paddling and encourages guests to help care for the waterways too.
