FIELDNOTES

About me
I've travelled to over-60 countries, and my favourite places are always a bit dusty and have a lot of soul. I started Seek Sophie because I couldn't find the heartfelt experiences that I loved online. Like hiking with conservationist guides, or cooking with a granny who has been making the yummiest sambal for 50 years. I believe that when we travel, we have to leave places better than we found them. My hope is that through Seek Sophie and through my own travels, I'm able to help build a fairer, and more heartfelt world. One where wildlife thrives, local communities are uplifted and we leave with our souls full.
A lifechanging trip for me was...
My favourite trip ever was in Uganda. It was the first time I travelled solo, and I basically camped and stayed in national parks for almost two weeks. There was a national park I stayed at, where my tent was just by the river where lots of hippos lived. I went to sleep with the sounds of hippos all around me. That trip changed me. I realised that I didn't need a lot to be happy. All I needed to be really happy was a tent out in nature, and that was enough. That realisation was hugely freeing and it gave me the courage to quit my job as a corporate lawyer in London and start Seek Sophie.
