About me
I’m Jialin, but you can call me Jials! When I was young, I used to love watching Animal Planet, listening to David Attenborough tell stories and dreamed about becoming an ecologist. That didn’t quite happen, but I did also fall in love with films and meaningful storytelling. And I’m so glad I get to do what I love at Seek Sophie - travel, wildlife, meeting really cool people along the way and telling their stories with care. Hiking Mt Rinjani was one of the most life-changing trips ever. It was the most difficult hike I’ve done but also the most rewarding - more of a mental game than physical! The biggest thing it taught me is something so simple that we’ve all heard a million times before, but maybe don’t fully believe - that you are so much stronger than you think you are. After I summited, I felt a raw, immense feeling of relief and disbelief “Wow… I did it”. The biggest learning: If I can hike Mt Rinjani, I can do hard things - I just have to I believe I can.
