Learn "heating" & "cooling" through TCM-inspired teatime
Think TCM is all bitter soups and herbal brews? This personalised TCM-inspired teatime experience will completely change your mind.Led by a local TCM practitioner and trained chef, this hands-on session reimagines traditional Chinese medicine through food and drink that are as delicious as they are nourishing. You’ll make one beautifully crafted mocktail and one teatime dish — either a yoghurt parfait or yam pancakes — using everyday ingredients such as yuzu, pear and yam. You’ll also be guided to explore your body’s “hot” and “cold” tendencies, making it easier to relate TCM food principles to your own life. Along the way, you’ll learn about “heaty” and “cooling” foods, and how to put these ideas to practical use with ingredients you can easily find in Singapore. What to ExpectLearn tips from a TCM-trained practitioner and chef on how ingredients are selected for their health effectsGet a guided assessment of your body's hot/cold tendenciesGet hands-on and create your own beautifully layered TCM-inspired mocktailChoose to make either Chinese yam pancakes or a Chinese yam parfait (contains dairy)Recipes and practical takeaways for using TCM food principles at homeGood to KnowAll drinks are non-alcoholic and suitable for all ages
