Ferme Liotard
Mission Liotard is based in Shangri-La, in the northwest of Yunnan Province, near the border with Tibet. The area sits on the edge of the Himalayas and is known for its high-altitude landscapes and strong Tibetan cultural influence. Founded in 2010 by French writer and traveller Constantin de Slizewicz, the project grew out of his time exploring this remote region and the historic expedition routes that pass through it.
The idea behind Mission Liotard is to share this landscape in a way that respects both the environment and local communities, while supporting the development of people living in these high-altitude valleys.
The experiences are inspired by the old Tea Horse caravan routes, combining real outdoor exploration with a level of comfort in the wild. Each journey is supported by a mule caravan carrying supplies, making it possible to enjoy well-prepared meals and a comfortable camp even at high altitudes, while staying closely connected to the natural surroundings and local culture.
