Heron House

The hosts of Heron House are in many ways a reflection of the uniqueness of the house. Van Anh is a native Hanoian, and Manhattan-born-and-bred Loïc met at a wedding in the south of France where Van Anh was cooking just over a thousand spring rolls for the guests of her cousin’s wedding. Three months later, he left the Netherlands to join her in Vietnam. A few years down the road they got engaged in Crete, quit their jobs in Hanoi, got married in Naxos (in true Cycladic style), and moved back to Europe to pursue masters in hospitality. With their diverse backgrounds and a shared love of travel, food, people, and hospitality, Loïc and Van Anh wish to share with you an amazing experience in Heron House, a reflection of their personalities and a place where guests can feel truly at home.

Peaceful and chill. Gorgeous, atmospheric rooms. Right in front of large rice fields. Great breakfast and we ordered a special BBQ for tonight. Love the fact that it feels and is authentic as well as personal.

Many visitors to Hoi An want to find a quiet place to rest and Heron House is the ideal choice. However, the peaceful space with surrounding rice fields is not the only attraction of this resort to visitors. The house was redesigned on an ancient French building. Only 3 rooms but each room is spacious with 65 m², balconies overlooking the outside and many windows to catch the wind and sunlight. Sun loungers, coffee tables and hammocks are also fitted on the balcony for those who prefer a lazy day.

It was an execellent stay with the most chilling place in Hoi An! Loic and the team was more than supportive during my stay here. Highly recommend for anyone would like to take a hide-away trip and enjoy the peaceful Hoi An scenery which is definitely unique to other accomodations.

Liked · Breakfast are really tasty. Fresh passionfruit juice and fresh fruits everyday. The bbq at night was good especially the dessert was spectacular. Selection of craft beers are very good. Rooms were spacious and beautiful decor. Staffs are nice and friendly. Disliked · + Wifi is weak + not clear when mention about damaged charge. We were charged for few small shallow scratches on the wood table that are very hard to see. The house should have put a sign on the table or put a glass on top of the wood to protect it. We would have taken pics of the condition of the table when we check in if we knew. The minimum charge for bringing the woody man to fix the table is 650.000. +there should be a specific menu for bbq with prices. And the price should be fix. We know it based on the ingredients but there should be a fix amount so guest will know exactly how much they gonna be charged for the bbq. Eventhough the food were delicious but seeing the bill is way up than the number we were told in the beginning really shocked us. +guest should check very carefully the snack offered in the room when check in. We were charged for the nut box which foil seal is slightly broken when we did not even use it. And the expired date is on oct 2019. +the valves to open water in yellow and red room are really hard to open and close tightly. +take note to guest who gonna pay by credit card will be charged 3 percent credit card fee. We’d stayed at many airbnb around the world but first time got this charge.

A very good memory, our family of six traveled, breakfast was different every day, and all the staff at the homestay made it for us, especially delicious. We also set a new year BBQ dinner at the homestay. Every ingredient is particularly fresh, especially squid, which is the best I have eaten in my life. The homestay is very quiet, especially in the middle of the paddy field, where no outsiders can be reached. Because we are a plane in the early morning, the homestay also specially helped us to delay our check-out by two hours. Respond to every request, and answer every question. In short, thank you staff for the wonderful memories that we left.
