Review Body: My second year in a row in Nusa Lembongan, I've been just salivating, watching all the really talented surfers riding Shipwreck and Lacerations wondering should I give it a shot?! It's been 20 years! Knowing it's all reef breaks with which I have very limited experience I was very apprehensive but soon drawn to Thabu by that huge smile of his,we started talking of course about surfing. His knowledge of local breaks is second to none! First of all location, location, location! His shop is right on the beach in front of Shipwreck and there is a nice little break called Razors just right of Shipwreck. Thabu set me up with Loxy a truly wicked surfer! I learned so much just on the beach before we left and out on the break (reef) he instilled confidence and with a smile almost as big as Thabu's he taught me so much! There were only 4 of us taking lessons but we had 2 instructors! (Agus was the other very talented dude). These guys love to surf and share their knowledge-with a great attitude! You could feel their pride in us as we all improved with each wave. Just a great experience in every way! A great selection of boards and a few breaks (known worldwide) for every level right out front of the shop! I can't say enough about these great guys and better yet, now I can't stop surfing!!!! Just a great thanks to you and your crew Thabu! Sukseme bro!

Review Body: We've never been surfing before (they teach from beginners to professional surfers) and they prepared and taught us everything important in a short theorie lesson on the beach and afterwards we went out on the water. There they did help us to find the right position to catch the wave, accompanied us during the stand up and gave all the necessary commands in the right moment, so that we were able to quickly achieve success. In between they gave constructive feedback and tips what we could further improve , in order to cheer one on again during the next ride of a wave an to share our excitement. From the beginning of the lesson it was a relaxing and comradely atmosphere, not meaning that they acted inconsiderate. The material which was given to us was in a good condition and very hygienic in terms of the shirts and shoes. So to sum up, I can totally recommend Thabu Surf Lessons and I am looking forward to tomorrows next lesson.

Review Body: My husband has always wanted to surf and so we had a lesson for his 30th birthday along with my sister who had flown out from Sydney to meet us in Bali. We saw Thabu Surf had excellent reviews via Trip Advisor and we were not disappointed! My sister had a couple surf lessons in Oz but me and my husband were total beginners. Our teacher, Agus, was brilliant. He was professional but friendly and spoke great English, such a good teacher in fact that me and my husband stood up several times. We felt safe at all times in Agus' supervision and the rest of Thabu's team were great too - very fair and professional. My husband even went back the next day for another lesson. Surf clothing is provided should you need it and there's lockers too. Although it may give tourists peace of mind to upgrade the lockers to a more secure version whilst they're out surfing. Thank you again for such a brilliant day that we will never forget.

Lessons are so much fun and i improved rapidly with personalised coaching The teacher Agus is great and always explains technique, safety and makes you feel reassured about the conditions Agus and all the teachers give helpful tips to help improve your surfing, read the waves and understand the conditions Everyone at Thabu Surf is friendly, encouraging and calm and ensures everyone is okay out in the surf. Everyday was so much fun. Locally and professionally run and as a solo female I felt very comfortable Great if you are an intermediate wanting to improve and fun for beginners. My friend who was a beginner was shredding in no time. You are also given a rashy, booties and pants if needed They take all the worry out of surfing. Sing Ken Ken! Thanks to everyone at Thabu Surf!! I hope to be back ripping in the future ️

Review Body: I took a 2 hour surfing lesson, along with my 11 year old daughter. We were provided with rash guards and protective footwear. They then gave us 30 minutes of instruction on the beach, followed by a short boat ride to the waves. Augus, our instructor, was great. He made sure that we got lots of waves to try, and coached us extensively. By the middle of the lesson, he managed to get both of us actually surfing. The waves at the site are great. We surfed the shoulder of the wave (smaller), while more advanced surfers used the higher portion of the wave. Compared to both Mauii and Costa Rica, you could get really long runs on the waves, which was really cool. A final plus: because of other activities, we were very pressed for time, but they still managed to fit in a lesson for us. I highly recommend TSL to anyone who wants to learn to surf.

Review Body: Had 3 days in Lembongan after a week in Bali for work so wanted to pack lots in! Contacted Thabu through social media and he got back to me straight away to book us in. His knowledge of the breaks, tides and conditions gave us lots of confidence and assurance. His instructors Loxie and Wayan were so attentive and genuinely wanted us to have fun while out there. And we did! So much so, we booked in the next day too! Highly Recommend these guys if you’re new to surfing - little break called Razors perfect with fun waves for newbies! Shipwrecks and Lacerations all out front of the school so it suits those more experienced too. As a bonus, Thabu took some great pics of us surfing to have as a keepsake! Learnt lots of new things to add to my learning of surfing! Thanks guys, we loved it!

Review Body: We spent 4/5 days surfing with Thabu, it was amazing. I'm still learning and I progressed a lot thanks to Thabu. We took him as a Surf guide with my boyfriend who surf well and we had both a great time and learn a lot. Thabu is an amazing person, everything with him is magic :) magic wave, magic boat, magic session ! He knows the spot like anybody else and teach really well. I advise u to go to surf with him !!! Review Body: I had half a dozen beginner surf lessons with the guys and found my surfing drastically improve. Going from rarely catching green waves, to now catching every wave and being able to turn. I watched these guys have complete beginners who never surfed before also catching small green waves by the end of the session. Amazing ! Great waves and experienced instructors = Surfing in no time ! I tried a few other surf lessons in both Uluwatu and Canggu and these guys were 10x better, they know the waves just sooo well and can communicate what your doing wrong so effectively.

Review Body: If you want to surf in Nusa Lembongan I would definitely recommend Thabu‘s Surf Lessons! Thabu the owner and all the surf teachers are really nice, friendly and funny as well:) My surf instructor was Agus Frimanto - he is a highly skilled surfer and a really good teacher. After explaining the first steps and basics, he also focused on the importance of safety in the water and explained the right behavior once you are in the surf spot - I was in good hands and always felt safe. I will definitely surf with Thabu‘s again, if I should ever be back in Lembongan!

Review Body: I found Thabu Surf Lessons through the Lembongan Traveller, amongst a variety of other teachers. Thabu was the first to respond and was so easy to communicate with. From the very first greeting at the lesson I felt at home, Agus took the class who was super chill but equally thorough with understanding techniques. Review Body: I was on Lembongan for 3 weeks and was able to pack in multiple lessons with Thabu and his team. I cannot say enough good things about Thabu and all of the other instructors I had the pleasure to work with. They are all excellent instructors and they keep a low instructor to student ratio. They are conscious about safety and take the surf progression of their students seriously and they do it all with a chill, island life atmosphere that one would expect on a beautiful island like Nusa Lembongan. Review Body: Best surf school in the world. Teacher are very good and they give you feed back after each wave!! They are careful before let you go in a wave. Many deferent spots for all level. You will progress for sure. The surf school is good for beginner and intermediate surfer. Thank you especially to Agus! I had around 100 surf lessons all around the world and he is the best teacher (for real!!!!!!) It was my fifth time in Nusa Lembongan and I will be back for sure juste for the surf school.

Review Body: I went on two sessions, two days in a row, as a complete beginner. Agus, one of the instructors, was patient and helpful the whole time, and made me feel confident that I could do well! Review Body: Best surf lesson ive had!! Super supportive, easy going and lighthearted. Gave great advice, concise and easy to understand. Didn't get grumpy with me at all when it took me so long to get up (other instructors ive had have been quite annoyed ). Stressed more the importance of having fun and slowing down to get technique right! Perfect location, perfect waves water temp depth and equipment. One on one ratio for beginners. Review Body: This is my 3rd visit to Lembongan and I always ask for Agus or Thabu to take me on a private lesson every day. My surfing improves with their tuition, where to sit, tide, swell, wind direction, they take all the worry out of surfing and i can just enjoy the thrill of surfing. There know exactly what wave to surf on any given day, with so many variables to consider a private guide is best for me. See you again next year or sooner.

Review Body: 3rd time I’ve been back! Highly recommend. If you want to improve I suggest going regularly. 1st time I surfed was one time with Thabu around 18 months a go and this time mostly had Agus as surfing teacher and went out around 6/7 times! They are all great and give useful tips after each surf. You can progress whatever your level with Thabu Surf Lessons and Julianty who manages it all and stylishly surfs is brilliant.

I doubted if I would be able to do that but well - after first little success I could not stop))) I had more lessons on Bali then but they were not that cool as the first one. Itinerary Summary: Improve posture & techniques

Itinerary Description: Start and end time depends on the condition of the sea. One lesson is approximately 2 hours. Lesson time will be confirmed a few days before the activity. The coaches will take you into the water to practice catching the right waves by yourself and maneuvering for 1 and a half hour to 2 hours in the water with a break in between.
