Waturanda Trip

Waturanda is a tour operator with "Fun, Local & Leisure" as their mission to give the best services to travelers. Fun fact: Waturanda is a Geology term - the owner, Irsyam Widiyoko, named his company Waturanda because of his love for Geology after doing a degree in it in Yogyakarta. Irsyam has hired a team of young and fun local guides to crew his boats, and travellers have loved their good humour. So you're in good hands with them.

Top notch customer experience. The world class scenery, the hospitality of the tourist guide and ship crews, the local food they served, the itinerary they have arranged, the cleanliness of the ship and the flexibility they incorporated as we go along had made this trip one of our best vacation. We will certainly engaged them as we plan for our next venture further east!

Valuable experiences with well experienced guide. It was an unplanned trip, but then my friend introduced me to Waturanda (Irsyam) who is very attentive and patient in answering all my questions and gave some advices and tips. I don't meet Irsyam since he managed other trip but "Aji" was the guide and I could say that he made our trip more memorable with some humors and valuable experiences that he shared with us. 3 days and 2 nites in the sea, it wasn't easy for me.., but the way Waturanda served us (of course Aji was the best) was very excellent. He was not only the guide, but become our close friend. We shared experiences, humors and laugh and took care each to another. The boat that they provided also nice and clean, only needed to add musics to make it more fun. I left my heart in Komodo island..., and definitely will comeback soon with some friends... Those who already saw my pictures took by Aji, keep asking me to go there again very soon.., lol.. Of couse, will contact Waturanda for my next trip (Labuan Bajo again, heheheh or Raja Ampat) and highly recommend Waturanda to everyone who has a plan to visit Labuan Bajo. Once again, thanks to Waturanda, and of cource the humorist guide Aji for making one of bucket list become true. See you very soon and cheers :-)

Amazing! We did a 2 night/3 day liveaboard around Komodo national park at the end of October. The park its self is incredible, and there is so much to do there - staying on the boat for 2 nights is the best option to get the most of your time here. We did plenty of snorkeling and saw lots of corals, turtles and manta rays. Pink Beach and Padar Island at sunrise were also a highlight. While the boat was quite basic, it had everything we needed (including air con in the room) and the food provided was also good. Waturanda Trip made the whole process super easy and everything was organized for us from start to end. I would highly recommend booking with them!

I'm satisfied with the service of Waturanda Trip. I travelled to Labuan Bajo and Komodo National Park using this travel agent. I am truly satisfed with their service. They have a very good itinerary and on time with their schedule. My time in Komodo National Park is worth my time, sailing on a beautiful Pinisi Ship and beautiful natural landscape. Waturanda Trip are also provide me with beautiful photos and videos for me, they have a skilled photographer. The tour guide was so friendly and well organized. This travel agent is highly recommended if you plan visit Labuan Bajo and Komodo National Park.

How much are Komodo National Park fees?
Komodo National Park fees are complicated. They depend on: the islands visited (which is weather dependent), whether it's a weekday or a weekend, whether the guest is a foreigner or a local, and the number of people on the boat (as ranger fees are shared). This is why no two people will tell you the same number when asked about fees! The fees are also complicated by the fact that they're set by the national government and paid directly to Jakarta. So there is little visibility on changes from time to time. This is why we usually advise international guests to bring cash of between IDR 350K to IDR 460K per person per day for weekdays and between IDR 400K to IDR 520K per person per day for weekends. This is more than you need, but it avoids you ending up short of cash if the boat doesn't have too many people or the fees suddenly change!
Will I get the exact same boat in the pictures?
You'll get the same type and quality boat, but you may not get the exact same boat. There are 4 types of boat - Standard (i.e. basic), Speedboat, Deluxe and Luxury. Most of the boat operators in Komodo have a few boats that they rotate. Depending on the group size on the day, the boat operator may end up using a larger or smaller boat. The boat that they use will be of the same type and quality but may not be exactly the same boat. Also, there may be situations where the exact boat needs to be sent for servicing so the boat operator may use another boat in these cases as well.
Is the itinerary guaranteed?
The itinerary for Komodo National Park is very weather dependent, as the journey takes place out in open waters. Some days the currents are very strong, and it might not be safe to go to certain islands. We know this can be frustrating if you had your heart set on specific spots, but please be assured that the boat operators will do their very best to make sure you see the dragons and the highlights of the park - even if it's not identical to the itinerary here. A visit to Komodo is quite the adventure, so please do be prepared to embrace some level of uncertainty!
