Nice Experience 
 Very good Agency!!! We went to Borobudur early in the morning to see sunrise. The driver pick up us on time. We really recommend to see the temple early in the morning! Great local tour operator
 I wrote to a number of tour operators for a quote before we set off—Yogyakarta Local Tours came back with a reasonable quote, but, more importantly, had really listened to what we were interested in, and didn’t try to sell us a bunch of other things. We had their support over three and half days, during which they:
 —picked us up at Yogya airport
 —dropped us at Semarang airport, some four hours away
 —took us to Borobudur and Prembanan temples
 —took us whitewater rafting
 —took us on the Imogiri village visit, including the cycling tour and the batik course

It was all great, but our favourites were the rafting and the village visit—the latter felt really genuine and authentic, and we had a lovely female guide who spoke expert English and taught us so much about the area. Out kids, not confident cyclists, felt uncertain about the cycling—in no time, two chaps with motor bikes were produced, who very carefully drove them whilst we were cycling. The batik course was so much fun, and included a delicious vegetarian lunch, eaten on the floor in a local home.

I should add that due to crossed wires, I had assumed the rafting was included in the quoted price, when it had not in fact been factored in. Without any prompting, the tour operator gifted us the rafting tour—an extremely fair and generous gesture.

 We visited Prambanan and the temples around it in the afternoon that we arrived in Yogyakarta.

The next day we visited Borobudur in the early morning and then we went to the villages affected by the eruption of Mount Merapi.

The tour was perfect, with a good price, including vegetarian meal as i asked and it concluded the morning after with a huge, yummy local breakfast and again a private driver till the airport.

YOGYAKARTA LOCAL TOURS GAVE ME A WONDERFUL TIME. If one is looking for something extraordinary and unusual experience in Yogjakarta, this group may just be your ticket.

I was in Yogja last week until yesterday for a conference and had and extra day to spend at the end of it. I asked my local friends for a driver they could recommend and they contacted Yogjakarta Local Tours. My driver Obama was on time to pick me up from the hotel with all my bagS and we made it to Borobudur in time for the sunrise. Then he took me to have the best Ayam Goreng (Indonesian fried chicken), which I think was my best fried chicken abroad EVER! Then on to Prambanan Temple. When I asked him to help me find a cheap hotel, he told me about Yogjakarta Local Tours' home stay program.

In a village outside of the city, they have a small house where guests could stay for the night. The house is basic but nice, quiet and clean. It is surrounded by traditional houses. Nearby are rice fields and a beautiful river. The people are friendly and I felt perfectly safe and welcomed throughout. The food they served me was simple, but authentic and delicious.

Issues: No wi-fi at this time, but the owner may lend his local phone. Still, slow connection. These is also no sink at the bathroom. Just very minor niggles.

I only had an afternoon and a night to spend in the village, but the young and visionary owner of the group Ikhsan has other things that could entertain tourists who have an extra day or two to spend. These include cycling, caving, river tubing and trekking around the surrounding villages. They could even take guests to the farms so they can participate in activities. Nearby are villagers who specialize in producing Indonesians are famous for--handmade batik, delicious food, furniture, and others. Of course, some activities may not be available at certain times of the year.

It may not be for everyone, specially those who think that things must be in accordance with what they have or how things are done where they came from.

 We spent three lovely days with this tour operator. They were very funny, reliable and very careful about our needs. We visited the temples of Prambanan and Borobudur at sunrise. Simply amazing. Do not miss the cycling in Imogiri village and the batik course. It has been one of the best experience ever had. It's absolutely no touristic, you can feel and experience the real rural life in Java. Absolutely recommended!! Easy to communicate with them!!
