Absolutely incredible experience. Coolest thing I’ve ever done. Our guide Jye (not sure the spelling) was amazing super lively and knowledgeable and kept the vibes high despite the 2am start. He took so many amazing pictures and videos and made edits for us too!! Would 100% reccomend. Travel to and from Bali was well organised and smooth sailing. Overall 10/10.

Overall, we enjoyed the tour of the Ijen and the Bromo. We had booked the private tour for two people and a lovely driver who, although he spoke little English (which we expected due to the tour description), was very friendly and made sure to meet all our needs, such as short stops in the supermarket etc. Our accommodations were also nice. Our Ijen local guide was also very considerate of us and since the Ijen hike (depending on fitness level) can be quite challenging, he helped us through difficult passages. As the tour description states, no local guide is provided for the Bromo, only a driver who accompanied us up to the viewpoint, which is easy to reach after a short but steep walk. However, as the viewpoint seemed too touristy to us, we wanted to hike a little further up, which our driver agreed to. The path then becomes much more challenging than before, but you don't have to go all the way up to King Kong Hill, you can also stop somewhere on the way to enjoy a great and much less crowded sunrise. One thing we would like to point out is that we received little information about the Ijen and Bromo area (this tour only offers a Jeep driver for Bromo, not a local guide) - so if that’s what you’re looking for, this may not be the right one for you. What annoyed us was that at the beginning of the tour we were given a timetable with the different tour stops, but this timetable differed from the one on the Seek Sophie tour description, and also from the actual times during our tour. We left for the Ijen from our accommodation at 1 am instead of 11 pm and thus arrived at the Blue Fire at the same time as all the other tourists, and really had to squeeze through to see anything. If you want to avoid the crowds, you should start the climb earlier, which is what we expected according to the tour description. On Bromo, on the other hand, we arrived at the official viewpoint about 1.5 hours before sunrise. We were some of the first people there, so it would have been possible to get a good spot for viewing, but you have to wait a long time for the sunrise (as pointed out above, we used the extra time to find a less crowded viewpoint). Our timetable said that we would go back to the car at 5:30 a.m., but the sun had only just risen by then, so we left later. All these deviations in the timetable made it harder for us to know what to expect and when, and plan our travels onwards after the tour ending. All in all, it’s a good tour with friendly guides that will attend to your needs, but could use more accurate and consistent organization and planning.
