A winning choice, you won't go wrong, as we mulled quite a bit between this and the usual trek up Mt. Batur but this one is super special and has much higher chances of seeing the sunrise. Our driver, Lita, was incredibly friendly and helpful. The guides Wie (also the boat captain) and Nawa shared openly about the area, life in the Mt Batur area. We climbed for just under an hour, it was dark and a bit damp but once the sun rose...heavenly. Even the guides were stunned into silence by the sunrise. Sadly Mt. Batur itself was covered in cloud the entire time so we were very happy to have chosen the caldera climb as our view was unobstructed and perfect. Probably the best sunrise i've seen. Breakfast was simple but filling, exactly what was needed. As an added bonus, Nawa conducted a full photo session that turned out so professionally. We added the Trunyan village cemetary which was so an honour to visit. Wie/the captain was kindly entertained all our questions and stops for photos. The boat ride on the lake was so relaxing and beautiful. Dealing with Seek Sophie has been such a pleasure, they were patient with all my questions and the staff working for them are pretty great.

Really loved this “alternative” tour to Mount Batur - it’s a relatively easy trek (we completed it in an hour) and it was only about 9 people on the mountain. On the way, we were able to see Mount Batur and the number of lights going up definitely showed that it’d be a squeeze. The sunrise was beautiful and you can also see Mount Rinjani and Mount Agung from the spot. The guide Wi was so chill and friendly, and is from the area. breakfast is provided up top also! The trip organiser Justin was super responsible and responsive and made everything so easy! We wanted to head over to Padang Bai after, and the driver Yosi took us to a beautiful cafe on the way over and really made the chaotic experience at Padang Bai easy. Really appreciated Yosi!! Just all around great trip and would highly recommend :)

The best part of my trip to Bali in April 2025 was jungle trekking and canoeing, plus Banyu Wana Amertha waterfalls. Perfect organisation, caring guides, breathtaking views, all in spirit of adventure. Komang Dodik was my guide. I would certainly recommend for those who seek something exciting to do in Bali off beaten path.

We had a very nice experience! In a small group and without anybody else on the path, contrasting a lot with the hundreds of lights we could see going up on Batur from this quiet spot. Obviously the clouds decide what sort of sunrise you'll get but if you're lucky like us the view really is amazing. Highly recommend!
