An absolute highlight of our trip! We were lucky and had the walk to ourselves. Our driver Yosi and guide Wi were both extremely lovely and shared so many great stories and interesting knowledge. The view from the rim was incredible even on our cloudy morning and we loved getting to take the boat across the lake. Definitely worth the early rise (3am for us in Ubud so not too bad) and we got back with so much day left to spend.

We hiked in a small group of 4. Our guide was very friendly and allowed us to hike at our pace. The hike itself is not overly challenging, and most people with a decent level of fitness should be able to handle it fine. It took us an hour to climb, and that was at quite a leisurely pace. We had a breakfast consisting of a banana sandwich, boiled eggs, a chocolate bar, and a hot coffee at the summit. This was the perfect way to soak in the view. I would highly recommend this experience.
