Great trip, excellent communication, easy ride (almost all downhill) and some interesting stops. Included a brief visit to the home of the Firefly Project. Coffee and lunch were great too.

There are places you visit, and there are places that visit you—that stay in your heart long after you’ve left. Rumah Konservasi Kunang-Kunang (Bring Back the Light) is one of those rare places.
From the moment I arrived, Wayan and his beautiful family welcomed me like an old friend—with warm smiles, open hearts, and a home-cooked dinner that felt like a blessing. I met the whole family—each one kind, generous, and deeply connected to the land and its spirit.
This is more than a farm. It’s a living, breathing story of hope, healing, and regeneration. Two gentle, passionate scientists shared the magic behind their work—restoring the firefly population, supporting local farmers, and protecting the ecosystem with quiet devotion. You don’t just learn here—you feel. You have this amazing opportunity to be a part of something greater than yourself.
The most unforgettable moment? Releasing a firefly back into the wild. I named her Rosetta, after my grandmother. As she flew away, lighting up the night, Wagan smiled and said, “We haven’t seen this many fireflies in a long time.” Maybe it was her spirit. I like to believe it was.
If you’re in Bali, don’t just pass through. Come here. Be part of something luminous, something real. Let your heart light up—just like the fireflies. I left with sharing warm hugs and my heart full of joy and gratitude, and I’m already looking forward to returning on my next visit to Bali. Jero Mangku Jeni and his beautiful wife were very professional, kind and welcoming. The place was peaceful and the experience incredible. I got what I needed there and left feeling lighter and clearer. I highly recommend getting a healing session with the purification included which was proceed by Jero Mangku Jeni's wife. She has a very beautiful energy and the purification she did was very special. Jero Mangku Jeni is a powerful healer. Very grateful for this beautiful experience.

Loved this hike! It was a separate trek from Mt. Batur peak, and we’re glad we chose this one instead. The views were absolutely stunning (we could see the sunrise with Mt. Agung and Mt. Abang) Our group included people with no prior hiking experience, but our amazing guide Wi, patiently and expertly guided us all the way up.
Since it’s a different route, our group had a private, peaceful experience with no interference from other groups and completely away from the big crowds and jeeps heading up Mt. Batur. Also, big thanks to Justin for entertaining us the entire car ride to and fro our villa :) Truly a beautiful and memorable hike!

I booked last minute and so glad I did. Guides knowledgeable, food great in beautiful surroundings. The biking mostly downhill with some off road if you prefer with stops along the way at interesting spots Small group size good. Transportation to and from my villa excellent . Thanks really enjoyed my day.

The evening was so wonderful! Wayan and his family were so accomodating with sharing the firefly conservation efforts and explaining the lifecycle amongst different species. It was truly enlightening to learn how essential fireflies are for healthy ecosystems, in a small group setting. Helping to prepare food that was cooked for us by Wayan and his family were the cherry on top🙏🏼😀 Thank you!!!
