Paddle through Cat Ba’s stunning lagoons and hidden caves — the dream way to explore Vietnam’s island paradise!

Booked through Seek Sophie website. They did a great job. I was most impressed with the dinner after. It was fantastic, with multiple food items in bowl-type entree. They accommodated both me and my partner’s food restrictions: vegan and gluten free. The setting for the dinner was wonderful, in an outside courtyard. The boat trips similarly felt safe and there were appropriate life vests on board the small boats. Notably, there weren’t quite enough life vests for the actual kayaking. I would like to see these provided. They did provide high quality dry bags for valuables. The plankton was very pretty. I would overall recommend.

Cat Ba's Wild Side | Half Day Jungle Trekking & Kayaking

I loved every second of this trip!!  First the short but challenging hike where we had to climb over rocks to reach the kayaks and than kayaking in the lagoon which we al had to ourselves. Sam showed me a really cool cave and a nice viewpoint. Great guy and guide who was so easy and fun to talk to. 

It was an incredible experience… it’s so unbelievable, pure magic! Everything was perfectly aligned, clear sky full of stars, a little smily moon, and plenty of plancton under our kayaks. A starry night up in the sky, but also under water! It looks like unreal, the best experience I’ve lived in my whole life… 
 There’s no picture that can describe the magic we had in front of our eyes… forget your phones and camera, just live the moment… you risk to waste the best memory of your life ;)

This was the perfect evening adventure! Our guide spoke excellent English so communication was easy. The food was awesome and they made sure there was something for everyone. There was plenty of down time to enjoy the scenic views and Oceanside location before we took off to see the plankton.

We loved our experience. Our guide, Ty, was an absolute delight. He was so personable and kind and very funny! He was knowledgeable about area, as he is a local. We always appreciate that insider info! We were able to see the bioluminescent plankton, as it is there year round but is only really visible without light (so days without moonlight). We heard the best time to visit is May and September. We’d love to come back to see it in its peak. Everything was well organized and professional. The dinner was tasty and family style, like those in the tours of Ha Giang. We would recommend Ty or SeekSophie / Cat Ba Local to anyone visiting Vietnam!

Quiet, peaceful, informative, adventurous and so much fun. If you’re bored of the tours filled with tourists this is the perfect tour to take. Couldn’t have asked for anymore. Riley was so kind and made our experience amazing - thank you so much!
