Things to do Starting in Kuta Lombok

Kuta Lombok is the up and coming trendy city of Lombok Island with lots of water activities from surfing to diving.

This was honestly one of the most unforgettable snorkeling trips I’ve ever had — and so much fun! 
 Agus, our awesome guide, took me to the local market first, where I saw the shocking shark trade — baby sharks for food, fins and teeth sold everywhere. Totally heartbreaking, but then I got to hear from the ex-shark fishermen themselves about how this tour gives them a better, alternative income.
 When we went snorkeling, the water was crystal clear, full of colorful tropical fish and beautiful coral. They even took me to Pink Beach 3, which felt like a private island — no one else there!
 I will never forget this trip. Seeing the ex-fishermen’s excited smiles as they brought me snorkeling and shared their stories was so touching. Snorkeling with them felt like doing something good while having a blast — supporting the locals and saving sharks at the same time! So happy and proud of what they do 💙

Agus and Eddy were great guides. Made snorkeling fun and easy and I feel safe. Sea was calm and water very clear. Corals and marine fishes were beautiful. We saw blur surgeon fishes. Angel fishes. Friendly "Nemo". And purple orange etc corals. And loads of sea stars. ...Blue White beige orange and red.

 The visit to the market was a very good way to start the day and understand the project.
 Suhardi the boat man (converted shark fisherman) was very helpful and always with a smile.
 The corals we saw during the snorkeling are in very good health, some of the best I have seen my places in SEA. The sea was a bit cold, so make sure you bring a rash vest if you have. We loved having lunch at the "secret beach" and walking around Pink Beach.
 It is worth the $$$ you pay knowing you are supporting a good cause.

From Kathy, to Agus, to the Captain of the boat....they are so obliging and responsive....wonderful water, friendly crew, an absolutely fantastic experience for my 7 year old son. What more can I possibly ask for. Highly recommended, esp for city dwellers who want to try something different. Kathy, Agus and crew are absolutely outstanding. My first visit to Lombok. Won't be my last. And will be on my list of recommended places for parents back at home.

We had the chance to see black-tip reef sharks, a lionfish, and some beautiful lobsters. The reefs were really colourful and healthy, too.
 This is a really meaningful eco-business that we are very happy and proud to be able to support. We will definitely do more boat trips with The Dorsal Effect the next time we are in Lombok! Will recommend this to my friends and family, too.

Def not everyday or everywhere where you get to enjoy a peaceful &amp; beautiful tiny island that you may get all to yourself if you stay overnight! Honestly being the only ones camping on an island was a superb experience I won’t ever forget. Imagine, sunset from tiny island, dinner a boat ride away, bonfire &amp; live music under moonlight, then waking up to the calm beach right outside the tent. Admittedly this camping experience is fully camping, meaning no fresh water or shower or modern sanitation so be well prepared (bring water bottles) and do not come expecting a polished experience. It is raw &amp; rustic and I think that is precisely the charm. An added challenge was that it rained for a few hours, which made everything wet and cold invited many mozzies, however the rain did stop and we were able to enjoy the bonfire to warm up after! Camping may not be everyone's cup of tea, but in believe you could just do a day trip to the island as well if you do not wish to stay over! I honestly loved it, peaceful island all to yourself, seeing sunset, moonlight and sunrise at your own shore is unparalleled. Worth all the struggle and temporary discomfort.

We loved it so much, we went back two more times, and they were able to take us to a different spot for all our dives.
 Our dive masters were friendly, cheerful, and experienced—this is a company that is chill and relaxed where you want them to be, and detail oriented where it matters. We would definitely use them for all our future Lombok dives.
 Among the usual, we saw turtles, white tipped sharks, octopuses, barracudas, and a great little wreck. The reef was also beautiful to explore.

They came to our hotel to do the paperwork the day before our dive, picked us up at our hotel the morning of our dive, and took us on a wonderful trio of dives. The boat is spacious and comfortable—they think of every little need. People on the boat were at various levels, getting different training, and having just a variety of needs that they managed with ease, giving a great day to all. We loved it so much, we went back two more times, and they were able to take us to a different spot for all our dives.
Our dive masters were friendly, cheerful, and experienced—this is a company that is chill and relaxed where you want them to be, and detail oriented where it matters. We would definitely use them for all our future Lombok dives.

I did my 3-day Open Water Diver Course with Scuba Froggy in Senggigi, Lombok. I attended the course solo and there was one other person doing the course with me.

Our dive instructor Akmal was very patient and supportive throughout the course, allowing us to become at ease in the water and grow in confidence as the course went on. Akmal was also very thorough with the theoretical / exam side of the course and was proactive in running through the material as required at convenient moments in between dives. We were able to swim in locations with coral reefs and marine wildlife (including some big turtles!). Akmal &amp; the crew were keen to ensure we saw these things and that we got the most out of our time on the boat. I was also able to do an extra dive on top of the course dives for a discounted rate.

I overpaid for the course initially but this was resolved with Alicja by the time I had completed the course. They were able to pay me back in cash. No problems at all there. They also provided transport to &amp; from the dive centre / boat location each day from my accommodation in Senggigi.

Overall, I thoroughly recommend the team at Scuba Froggy Senggigi if you are thinking of completing your Open Water Diver Course on Lombok.
