Lovely host and hostess. We chatted Vietnamese tea culture, wild 20m tall tea trees and the price of cars (4 billion!). The process of making the tea is an act of patience and love taking over a year to properly infuse. Contrary to Japanese tea ceremonies (a solemn ritual of strict decorum) or Chinese tea ceremonies (a measuring contest of clout through flowery pomp and circumstance), Vietnamese tea is meant to be shared and enjoyed together. Everything about this was just perfect! The tea house is a beautiful, serene space in the chaos of Hà Nội. I loved the guided meditation to settle you into the space, the smelling and tasting of the tea, finding out about how it is grown. And the tea lady, unfortunately I forgot her name, was incredibly knowledgeable and kind. Can’t recommend this enough!
