Absolutely Worth It!
This homestay is totally worth every cent—I absolutely loved my stay here! The food they served was incredibly delicious, and the host was so friendly and welcoming. They consistently checked in to make sure I was okay and did everything to ensure my stay was comfortable.
Now for the room—wow! I had a private room with an attached toilet, and it was amazing. The view from my bed was beautiful, and the cleanliness was top-notch—100%! The toilet had hot water, and the bed was super comfortable. I had one of the best nights of rest here.
Highly recommended!

We loved being “off the beaten path” and being in the midst of the rice fields. Lunch was authentic home-cooked food and was amazing as well.
We went in June (rainy season), and it rained throughout the trek. We recommend checking the weather before you embark on the trek to be adequately prepared (with umbrellas, ponchos etc).
There will likely be friendly Hmong locals who approach you and strike conversation, just keep in mind that they are street vendors who sell souvenirs.
Overall, a unique experience for those looking for something different and more adventurous! :)

Wonderful experience. We did the adventurous tour and it was great. Our guide, San May, was lovely. Highly recommend!

This tour was amazing! We were a group of 7 and did the two day trek with our guide Mae Xuan - she was amazing! We learnt so much about the local area and the people that live there. The views along the trek were phenomenal and staying in Mae’s home was such a special experience. The food her family cooked for us was amazing. We chose to add on a herbal bath after our first day of walking which was the perfect way to recover for the next day. We didn’t cross paths with any other tourist groups and the whole tour felt like a really authentic experience of the local area. Would highly recommend this trip to anyone!
The trek was moderately difficult with some uphill parts which were tough in the heat at times but Mae was very happy for us to stop and take breaks when we needed. The only thing we didn’t bring that we missed was some snacks to have while trekking. Water and soft drinks / beer can be bought from Mae’s house and all main meals are included. Trekking time on the first day was approx 3.5 hours in the morning before lunch then another 1.5 after lunch. Day 2 was approx. 4.5 hours and lunch afterwards before being dropped back to Sapa

Our guides were very informative and led us on the most amazing trek through the rice paddy. We had a delicious, authentic lunch and finished our journey in a Red Dzao herbal bath. Highly recommend this excursion!

We loved the trek today- Pay was a great guide. As the weather was very wet we did the easy route, as the river would have been too high to cross. Great chatting about the local area and was very enjoyable :-)

We were taken through routes which otherwise we would not have went and we saw some beautiful scenery along with daily life of the Black Hmong people which was great. Our guide May was very kind, patient and answered our questions.
We booked the trip because it was called 'Discover the secrets of the Red Dao'. Once we reached the Tha Phin village we went directly to the herbal bath place (paid extra for it) and unfortunately it kinda disappointed us. We didn't really discover any secrets about their herbal bath, what's in it, etc. The place seemed more like a tourist trap, the baths were quite dirty, managements was a bit extatic and you were almost forced into taking a photo with the Red Dzao ladies from whom you are asked to buy something afterwards. And after the baths, the tour was finished. So we barely saw anything related to the Red Dzao.
During the tour, there will be a lot of local sellers who follow you and then they ask you to buy something, so bring cash.

Great experience walking through the villages and right along the rice paddy fields. Took the easy route with my mum but due to rainfall the previous day it was not easy!! First tip: wear black socks and be prepared to get muddy. But it was very fun, scenic and our guide, May, was very helpful! Second tip: save your purchases for the Sapa O’Chau Hmong shop next to the lunch stop. They had quality goods!
