A trip to Taiwan is far from complete without travelling to Taipei, a bustling city of street food and city attractions. With a private driver, you can take day trips to surrounding attractions such as Jiufen, the street inspired by 'Spirited Away', or Shifen, iconic train tracks to release sky lanterns. You can even do quick trips to surrounding cities such as Taichung. For the more adventurous, spend a little more time conquering Taiwan's highest mountain, Jade Mountain; or trek along the majestic Taroko Gorge.
Taichung is a good base to many amazing sights. From Taichung, you can take day trips to Sun Moon Lake, a beautiful calm lake, and Cingjing Farm, a greenland with free-roaming sheep. You can also take day trips to a field of lavender (Lavender Cottage) and Gaomei Wetlands for a breathtaking sunset. If you're an avid mountain lover, you can also take on Taiwan's highest mountain, Jade Mountain, from Taichung. Hire a private driver for the most convenience.
Kaohsiung is a quiet seaside city with a good mix of instagrammable attractions and mouth watering food. Kaohsiung is also gateway to the beautiful Kenting island, Taiwan's equivalent of Maldives island just a 3 hour bus ride away. In Kenting, you can't go wrong with water activities — dive in Kenting Marine Park among turtles and lionfish, or pick up surfing or paddleboarding by the coast. Kaohsiung can be best explored with a local driver to give you the best recommendations.
One of the most scenic areas in Taiwan, Hualien is the base to explore the famous Taroko Gorge and the gorgeous Qingshui Cliffs. Majestic marble valleys, tall waterfalls, forest hikes and mountain to mountain suspension bridges are just a few highlights of this national park. Apart from Taroko Gorge, also check out sandy beaches and turqoise waterfalls in Hualien County, a perfect trip away from the city!
