Review Body: Amazing trip and excellent guide Fano and crew. The crew took amazing care of us ensuring we got the best photos walked up the 800 steps in Padar to take breath taking photos and had the skills to make these lasting memories go digital! Always chirpy and obliging we couldn’t have asked for more. They also strived to find the mantarays and giant turtles so we got the full deal and were thoroughly happy! The famous Warran met us and prior to the trip was always super prompt in replying to all our questions queries. They are an honest operator and made our trip incredible. Would thoroughly recommend them and go back to explore further. Only little feedback is that lunch was okish but hey at least no one got sick! But would come back and do more for sure! 👍 great experience

Review Body: This was the most incredible experience of our lives! We have never seen such a beautiful and exotic place. We were a group of 6 and everything went flawlessly thanks to our amazing tour guide Hugo; he was attentive, timely, and informative. It felt like we had multiple once in a lifetime experiences in one day - the sunset add on at the end was also totally worth it! During snorkeling we also saw many trees and a manatee when we went snorkeling which was so cool! Exceeded all expectations and we couldn’t be happier and more thankful for Hugo and his crew. Review Body: My girlfriend and I looked online for ideas about prices and types of tours around Komodo National Park. It was difficult to understand what to expect and how to plan. Luckily our hotel owner recommended this company because there are a lot of people in Labuan Bajo offering all kinds of tours with all kinds of wild prices. You could realistically walk into a shop and inquire about trip prices and get a different price than the next person that walks in. Everything is negotiable. Our hotel owner recommended Alexandria Cruises. I checked them out online and they had a professional website and do a lot of tours around Indonesia. The price they offered was a bit cheaper than the next best offer and much cheaper than some wild offers we heard (always shop around don’t just take the first offer out here). The price we paid was 1.2 million rupiah per person for six attractions including the Komodo Dragons on the actual island of Komodo and to see the Manta Ray, this is a fair price out here as far as my experience talking to several venders and hearing their prices for services. This is just for the trip, you have to also pay the entrance fee for Komodo National Park which is 350,000 for each person on a week day and I think 450,000 during the weekend. For this trip you see basically whatever excited you online/instagram about coming here except for Rinca island. We went to Padar Island, komodo island, and a few other places. For us, seeing the Komodo Dragons and the Manta Rays were the best part of the trip. The pink beach was interesting and peaceful when we were there. Snorkeling was so much fun for us because we were lucky and happened to find 10-15 manta rays feeding near some cliffs by an island. For me, it was unbelievable having several manta rays circling and swimming at and near me with their mouths gaping open catching plankton. They are completely harmless to humans so don’t be afraid if you are super close to them. Also don’t expect to have the same experience, our guides told us we were super lucky to see that many manta rays at one time especially during this time of year. The Komodo dragons were also amazing to see. Beyond my expectations actually. We were also lucky to see some of them because it’s the mating season (September) and apparently the dragons don’t move around a lot at that time. We still managed to see a few babies and a handful of full grown dragons. One of them just walked up to the watering hole as we were standing there taking pictures of another one that was relaxing by the water. The guides do an excellent job of keeping you safe although I think the dragons aren’t particularly dangerous to humans as long as you aren’t physically bothering them. We got pretty close, within 2 meters. Heads up, if you’re a girl and have your period, you CANNOT see the dragons. The staff was very professional and the service overall was also beyond my expectation we booked last minute using WhatsApp to talk to the company’s manager in Labuan Bajo (the city in Flores island you fly to if you want to see the dragons). We booked pretty late at night, around 10 pm I think and she was super helpful! The tour included hotel pickup that took us directly to the boat and then back to the hotel when everything was finished. We paid on the boat, they accept cash or credit card. They serve a meal after you see the dragons and a snack in the late afternoon. They cater to vegans and vegetarians, which completely surprised me. It’s all a tourist thing and it is a little touristy, but none of the staff I met were going through the motions at all. Everyone really seemed dedicated to their jobs and that gave us a meaningful experience. The boat is a fast boat and seats up to 15 I suspect. Our boat had about 11 people I think. They have all of the snorkeling gear and life vests if you need them. It’s a full day so make sure you sleep well the night before, you get picked up at around 5:30 in the morning so prepare for that haha. The manager in town said they have a desk in the airport when you arrive where you can meet and pay for the trip and whatever other miscellaneous inquiries. To be honest, when we arrived at the airport we were only at baggage claim and didn’t see any booths for the trips, so you’ll have to look around but it’s a small airport and super new. Also, don’t let the taxi drivers scam you for like 60,000 to 80,000 to drive you a kilometer to your hotel. Try to negotiate. You can also walk down the road a bit and find taxis or even motorbike taxis and negotiate down. You shouldn’t pay more than 30,000 rupiah. We had a great time. It was one of the best travel experiences for me and my girlfriend that we have ever had.

Review Body: A Perfect Adventure: Worth Every Penny This experience was a solid 10/10 and worth every penny. The tour team took exceptional care to ensure our safety, providing thorough safety briefings before each destination. We also appreciated the ample time given at each stop, allowing us to relax and enjoy ourselves fully. This was a key factor in choosing this tour, as we wanted more than just 15-20 minutes at each location. Padar Island Our adventure began with a speedy boat trip to Padar Island. It’s a busy spot, but if you start early, you can beat the rush. Once on the island, there's limited shade, so be prepared to move quickly to avoid baking in the sun. The view from the top is breathtaking, though be mindful of others waiting for their turn to take photos. If you encounter inconsiderate people taking too long with their photos, don’t hesitate to politely but firmly ask them to move along so everyone can enjoy the view. After capturing the stunning vistas, we moved to a quieter viewpoint next to the only tree, which offers equally impressive photo opportunities. Pink Beach Next up was Pink Beach. While the sand's color may not be as dramatic as some enhanced photos suggest, it’s still a beautiful and unique spot. The beach is home to small, harmless dragons, and the water is crystal clear with silky smooth sand. Interestingly, the sand releases millions of bubbles when disturbed. Though fish are scarce due to beachgoers and boats, there are vendors offering snacks and souvenirs. Komodo Island Komodo Island was a major highlight of our trip. It’s important to come prepared with water, as the trek through the woods can be hot. We were lucky to spot 5-6 dragons, including a giant one named John Kennedy. Despite rumors, these dragons are not drugged; they are naturally lethargic like other large lizards. We witnessed John’s predatory instincts when he stood up and hissed loudly after noticing a girl running to catch up with her group. This startled everyone as it highlighted his readiness to react to potential prey. After the tour, we enjoyed a provided lunch and bought a refreshing coconut and a cheap hat from local vendors. Supporting the local community is always a good idea. Taka Makassar Taka Makassar was the highlight of our entire trip. This remote, exquisite area boasts white sand and crystal-clear water. Baby sharks are a common sight, making it one of the world's best beaches to simply enjoy and relax. Snorkeling Spots The final part of our journey included two snorkeling spots. A waterproof case for your phone is a must; we missed out on capturing incredible moments. The waters were teeming with large turtles, some swimming right beneath us. While manta rays were present, they stayed deeper and moved quickly, making them harder to see up close. Nonetheless, the abundance of marine life was impressive, especially compared to other tours we took during our trip where sightings were scarce. This tour is an outstanding value, being EXTREMELY cheap compared to others while delivering a far better experience. The boat might look more impressive in photos than in person, and I did hear a few grumblings from other passengers. However, the real focus is on getting you to these incredible destinations quickly and efficiently, which they accomplish perfectly. The ride can get a little bumpy, so be sure to take some motion sickness pills and just relax – you’re in good hands and you will thoroughly enjoy this adventure.

Review Body: 30 Sept 2026 This “Top-Rated Komodo Day Trip | Lunch at Komodo Island” was really impressive. Warren from Alexandria Cruise was really helpful. Once the booking is confirmed, they will reach out and they answered my queries regarding additional entrance fee for Komodo national park and ranger fee. We paid additional 450k IDR per pax for the entrance and ranger fee. Everything was professional from the moment they picked us up from the hotel. Our driver brought us to our guide, Hugolinus (Hugo), who introduced himself and carried himself really well throughout the trip. We were also really lucky to have a small group of only 6 pax. (The description of this tour is up to 16 pax) We arrived at the jetty around 5:20am, waited for the other two couples, and departed around 5:45am. We spotted dolphins on the way to Padar Island, and there were also a couple of deer when we arrived at 06:50am. We spent around 1.5 hours there, which I felt was a good amount of time. You’ll need to hike up and down, but there was still plenty of time to enjoy the scenery and take photos. Next, we headed to Pink Beach and were given around 40 minutes there (up to 9:20am) . It was really fun because we had great company. We went into the water (water was clear with fishes) and ended up chatting with another couple from the other side of the world. We then arrived at Komodo National Park around 10:10am, where we joined the Komodo tour with the park guide. Lunch was around 11:30am. (We had 20 mins for lunch) Again, we were really lucky that 6 of us got along well and we chatted during lunch. At 11:50am, we left Komodo National Park and headed to the sandbar. It was gorgeous, although we were only given around 20 minutes there, so there wasn’t really much time to do anything. After that, we headed to Manta Point and Siaba Besar. This was probably one of the highlights of the whole trip. We were lucky enough to see more than 10 manta rays, a turtle, eagle ray, and another type of stingray which I unfortunately can’t remember the name of. Overall, it was a really well-organised trip with a great itinerary, good timing, and an amazing guide. Hugo was knowledgeable, friendly and genuinely made the experience even better. Definitely one of the highlights of my trip to Labuan Bajo. I had a bad tour the next day with GetYourGuide where the tour stated up to 10 pax (I intentionally picked it as I wanted a small group) but we were placed in a group of 50 pax. The tour agency is called Ceneast Adventure Indonesia, they mentioned that the final group size depends on the boat availability, which they push the blame to us instead. Anyways, it was just bad cause we wasted so much time due to being in a 50 pax large group. We arrived at 2:15pm and only departed the jetty at 3:45pmz Be wary if you plan to book through Get Your Guide. Check the service provider. If it’s Ceneast Adventure, think twice

Review Body: The fantastic crew especially Heri ❤️ who is absolutely outstanding as an informative tour guide, an excellent photographer whose expertise makes the difference. He is a beautiful person. He positioned me, directed me to a good pose up on the summit of Padar Island to get THE best, the most magnificent photo of my 1 month trip. I felt confident in his presence snorkelling after an unsafe snorkelling experience off Gili T where we were dropped into a current that took us >200m from the boat in a minute & had to get back by ourselves swimming against the current. We are both Aussies that grew up swimming, surfing & snorkelling we are strong swimmers but gee that was a very difficult, arduous & long swim to get back to the boat. Alexandria Cruises are by far much better, safe & come with you. I never once felt unsafe or in trouble with them. It was just a wonderful magnificent experience. The whole glorious trip is still looping in my mind like a video on constant play. I absolutely adored this trip. It was my birthday gift to myself & I’ve never ever had as good nor memorable birthday as this one. I appreciated the information by all Tour guides it was very informative complete & thorough. The whole experience by Alexandria Cruise crew made the day a remarkable & outstanding one. Getting to Padar Island, the first stop just after sunrise was excellent as the first group were starting to come down & it wasn’t crowded for our group. There were not strangers in my photos. Heri captured the best photos for me which I will cherish & I appreciate because I was alone in this tour group. I was grateful that I was coming down as the sun was blazing because it was very hot no breeze until position five the second last one. I had cold water so I could splash it on myself to keep cool that it made it much easier. I can’t recommend Alexandria Cruises more highly & it’s their crew that make it great. We had no idea, no recommendations we booked this cruise blindly & I’m really happy that we lucked out getting this cruise group not any of the others that were coming along behind us in the blazing heat not all of them would’ve made it to the summit of Padar Island. The Komodo Island the pink sand was amazing. The aqua colour of the water crystal clear was magnificent. Another highlight was we met Komodo dragons., I was able to get a photo with one, I think they came out for my birthday to appease me, we saw 4 & I am delighted. Snorkelling with the Mantas was fantastic. I have done this off Nusa Lembongan years ago but this was much better, not even close! I loved the simple touches like Heri giving me a coconut water & coffee as my birthday gift 💝 These memories I will cherish. I enjoyed my birthday in exceptional surroundings with magnificent experiences & lovely people, thank you. The whole day was just divine. I can’t recommend Alexandria cruises more highly. ❤️🤩❤️

Review Body: Don't think, just take Alexandria and Warren! Short review: if you are looking for a full day tour (not liveaboard), then just choose Alexandria Cruise with Warren. Full review: Trip advisor has helped me more times than I can remember with my travels and once again has guided me to a truly once in a lifetime experience. From the time I contacted Warren through Whatsapp (best way) to the end of the tour it was a flawless experience. We had decided to take a private tour as we are quite a bit on the laid back side and do not want the stress of a group and this was a brilliant idea. Sure its extra payment but you won't go to Komodo everyday. Plus you can really enjoy at your own pace spending more time where YOU want to and less where you are not. Warren and the crew were really outstanding in everyway and were friendly, smiling and nothing was too much trouble. Hats off to this crew who really enjoy their job and it shows. We are not the most fit people (!) and it took us a while to go up Padar. Warren was not only really patient but he carried my wife's bag to help her out and also took the effort to take the best pics of us. He really knows how to take the top pics. As it was a private tour, we decided to go to two pink beaches rather than one and especially the second one was just unbelievable with absolutely NO ONE else. Great snorkeling spot and we even saw a turtle and some baby sharks. All the spots were fantastic and we saw 5 dragons as well. We took the medium trek at Komodo and saw dragons, wild boars and some deer as well. Lunch was served here and though simple it is filling and the banana fritters were great. Some notes: speed boat is fast but does go through some rough seas at time, so go easy with the food. Free flow water and soft drinks through out. Overall simply an outstanding day and thanks to Alexandria Cruise and Warren for giving us truly a trip to remember!

Review Body: This trip was the prefect day trip exploration. When booking I was hesitant to start so early but it worked out perfect as you get to Padar Island at the prefect time in the morning to beat the crowds for unspoiled views. You arrive just as the sunrise climbers are coming down so we had views all to ourselves. By the time we came down there was many boats filled with tourists arriving and hundreds of tourists starting the climb!! Again we arrived at pink beach early and had the beach to ourselves. At Komodo island we got lucky and saw 3 Komodo dragons. After lunch you continue on to the sand bar (it was high tide when we got there so sand bar was mostly covered) and then snorkeling at 3 different spots. It was rather windy the day we went so I chose not to go snorkeling but others said the manta rays were amazing. Our guide Henry was amazing and looked after us perfectly. He was really knowledgeable and made the day fun. If there was anything negative about this trip it was the lunch that was served. I had noticed plastic containers sitting on the boat in the heat all morning. When lunch time came around we were served a plastic container with rice, battered chicken, vege salad and a pot of jelly. I was a little reluctant to eat it knowing it was sitting in the heat all morning. My suggestion if you’re a little fussy like me is to bring your own snacks to eat throughout the day. Other than the lunch I am so happy I booked this trip through seeksophie as we got to see incredible sights and beat the crowds at every spot we stopped. I definitely recommend the early start as your about 2hrs ahead of every other tour group that arrives to visit these beautiful sights

Review Body: The overall experience was great! My partner and I enjoyed it a lot. The tour started with pick-up from the hotel at 5:25am and we were sent back to the hotel by 4pm. Bottled water, coke, watermelon and bread were provided on the cruise, and we had bento lunch at the Komodo Island. Even though the bento was cold and the rice was dry, it didn’t bother us at all. We were very lucky because we managed to see 6 Komodo dragons, 2 turtles, 6 manta rays, 1 baby shark and some really beautiful corals and fishes! What we liked about the tour: - The duration of the whole tour was just nice. - Time spent at each location was more than enough and didn’t feel rushed. - Experienced and friendly tour guides. - We arrived at each location either before or after the large crowd, which was really nice. But that also means that you won’t be able to catch sunrise on Padar Island because the sun had already risen when we got there but that was fine with us. - We were quite lucky that all of the other participants of the tour were punctual and respected each other. That made the entire experience even more pleasant. Areas for improvement: - It would be great if the guides could provide some key safety tips before snorkelling because there may be some first time snorkelers who may not know what they don’t know (e.g., who needs life jacket, breathing in shallow water first, how to prevent mask from fogging up, how to clear water out from snorkel tube, etc) All in all, everything was great and would recommend this tour for anyone interested in doing a day trip when you’re in Labuan Bajo :)

Review Body: My wife and I are world-wide, full-time travelers. We have enjoyed many excursions around the world. Some good, some not so much. Our Alexandria Cruise ranks at the top of the list. Our experience actually began when we were initially inquiring about this excursion and had numerous and lengthy WhatsApp chats with the owner of Alexandria Cruise, Warren. Warren took the time - and patience - to answer my many questions about this day trip. This set a very positive tone for my wife and I. And the excursion itself was just as Warren claimed from the early morning hotel pickup to returning us to our hotel at the end of the day. The fast boat itself and equipment (snorkeling gear) were in excellent condition which further gave us reassurance that we had selected the right cruise company. Fano and his team were top-notch professionals! It was clear that they wanted all the guests to really enjoy themselves, but they were also highly attentive to ensure everyone was safe. This was important to us. They communicated with the guests regularly so everyone understood the day's activities and that safety was paramount while on the boat, in the water, or during the hikes or Komodo dragon experience. They were ever-present interacting with each guest which really enhanced the trip. Their easy-going personalities really enhanced our experience! Warren has built something special with Alexandria Cruises and it clearly shows with his team. We highly recommend Alexandria Cruise and look forward to a future visit!

Review Body: This experience was amazing. Firstly, the team looking after us throughout the day were clearly passionate about what they do but also really helpful with any questions or problems you may have and were fantastic hosts. They gave you good information about what to expect at each place and were particularly great whilst guiding us around the snorkelling spots. They would help anyone who was struggling to keep up with the group or having issues with their gear to ensure that no one missed out on seeing anything during the experience. The tour of the Komodo national park itself was great, the guides were very knowledgeable about the dragons and other nature on the island and they always made sure to stop to point out to us anything we would have otherwise missed - we saw 5 dragons, a large venomous spider and a blue viper (although I think we were incredibly lucky in this respect). The snorkel spots themselves again were amazing (although again I think we may have got incredibly lucky). We saw baby reef sharks, a lot of manta rays and a couple of huge sea turtles. Lunch on the park was pretty good as well, better than other boat excursions I’ve had that included lunch. We also got chocolate bread as a snack on the way back to Labuan Bajo after a long day. The boat is a tad cosy but it’s completely fine. The point of it is to get you between each stop as quickly as possible to maximize your time there, which it does. Overall, could not recommend this day enough!

Review Body: If you’re looking for a trip where you don’t actually have to plan anything just sign up. This is a place to go. They do all the heavy lifting for you and provide an excellent trip for what I consider an excellent value. I paid I can’t remember between 80 and US$85 for this. They picked me up at my hotel at 5:30 in the morning. That was quite a nice added value, that was included in the fee. You also have to pay the entry fee into Komodo national park I paid 450,000. IDR , you need cash for this bring the cash. I did the trip at the end of the January during the crazy rain season, but the weather was exceptional. The only time we experience rang was when we had lunch, which was a covered venue so actually never got caught in any rain. I guess we got lucky because we had an amazing day. We saw five Komodo dragons. I stopped counting at 25 Matas rays and one big sea turtle. The boat guides were super absolutely no complaints. My one piece of advice to people, use the bathroom on the boat. It was extremely clean and well-maintained! This is not a ding on Seeking Sophie because it’s beyond their control, but just an observation about the two locations that we went to in Komodo national Park. The facilities were extremely rundown and shockingly inadequate. The bathrooms were in a serious state of disrepair. Anyway, I just wish they would’ve used the entry fees to provide better facilities for everyone locals and foreigners.

Review Body: We had a fantastic experience with Alexandria Cruise. We chose the private snorkelling tour, and the staff made it very personalised to our preferences and pace throughout the day. Our guide, Hugo, was very knowledgeable and always made an effort to steer us away from other groups, even at the more popular stops. The timing of the tour was perfect — it’s one of the few that departs very early in the morning, so we always stayed ahead of the crowds. We visited all the planned locations: we spotted dolphins on the way to the first stop, hiked Padar Island for its amazing views, swam at Pink Beach, and trekked through Komodo National Park where we saw a variety of wildlife, including Komodo dragons (we even saw two having a little argument!). At Taka Makassar, we saw turtles and a baby shark, and we also encountered manta rays and beautiful coral reefs at Makassar Reef and Kanawa Island. Hugo and the crew were excellent at spotting animals and were very knowledgeable about the local fauna and flora. Hugo’s English was very good, and we had some great conversations throughout the day. He also filmed some amazing videos with my go pro throughout the trip. They provided lunch and drinks during the tour. I would definitely recommend this experience — it was one of the highlights of our trip to Indonesia!

Review Body: I booked two day snorkeling tour with Alexandria Cruise back in February. Warren contacted me and gave me very specific and clear instructions as what to expect, what to bring, when to meet, etc. The tours were designed effectively and our crew - Ryan (pronounced as ReeYan), Yong and Capital Salem were very attentive. They helped us putting on our gears and made sure they worked properly before we got into the water. While under water they were constantly scouring for special marine animals, we have seen three or four manta rays, several green turtles and many many beautiful bright-colored fishes and corals. The tours were also consistent of land portion as we went onto islands of Lawa, Pardor and Komodo. The crew always were there to help us hiking (even holding our hands during rough patches) and taking photos. We also went to the amazing Pink Beach. What mind blowing was among all the places we been to we were one of the very few if not the only group there! I can’t say it was pure luck, we contributed the perfect timming to Alexandria Cruise’s genius planning. If you are considering to visit the Komodo National Park, I can’t recommend AC enough, it is the most honest, attentive and smartest operator we’ve ever worked with, worth every penny.

One absolute highlight for us: Taka Makassar and the snorkeling that followed. Words can’t do the views justice – it was like diving into a postcard. Crystal-clear waters, vibrant coral, and the kind of natural beauty that makes your jaw drop. Itinerary Summary: Today you will get to snorkel and also take a peak into the lives of the endangered Komodo Dragons

Itinerary Description: 5:20am - 5:45am: Transfer to a speed boat Visit to Padar Island. Hike to the top of Padar Island to see the most iconic view of Komodo National Park. It's a short but steep, 30-minute hike, and well worth it! Head to Komodo Island to trek and spot the wild Komodo Dragons! Of the 5,700 Komodo Dragons in Komodo National Park, about 1,727 of them live on Komodo Island. Then head to Pink Beach. This aptly named beach is peppered with red coral, giving it a light pink hue. Only a handful of places in the world have this natural phenomenon! Head to Taka Makassar, a small sandbar located near to Komodo Island and Manta Point. This island is a worthy destination, especially for snorkelling. Snorkel at Manta Point. Also known as Makassar Reef, this is a well-known snorkelling/diving spot to encounter Manta Rays. Best time for Mantas is from December to February. Head to Kanawa Island. This is a beautiful island with clear waters and colourful corals.
