Review Body: Greenbike’s bike tour in Ubud is a 5+ hr tour which included breakfast, lunch and a sampling of local treats. Unexpectedly, it also included transfers from our hotel which was extraordinary value (and very convenient).
The tour explores Balinese culture and community through a scenic bike ride on quiet country roads and off the beaten track. We visited a traditional Balinese home, sampled Indonesia’s famed luwak coffee, stopped by Bali’s second largest temple and finished the tour at the rice fields.
It was a meandering 22 km round trip, best of all mostly downhill. Our guides ensured our road safety and remained vigilant throughout. Riding the backroads roads and narrow trails, known only to locals was a highlight. As an occasional recreational rider only, I especially enjoyed the trickier trail parts that were unpaved, rocky, puddle-ridden.
Tips: As we travelled to/from Ubud from Nusa, we experienced Bali’s snarled traffic. It made for a long day but it was worthwhile.
While the torrential rain in Nusa didn’t instill confidence initially, it eventually subsided. We appreciated the overcast, cooler day. Trust the experts at Greenbike to gauge the contingency plan.
A special thanks to our guides Amin and Ketut for sharing their insights, and to Rina at Seek Sophie who responded quickly and efficiently to my questions beforehand.

Review Body: Today we did a 4-hour bike tour through a village. I can honestly say that it was incredible to see exactly how the Bali Villagers live. I have been to Bali over 50 times and have also owned businesses here. I learnt a lot today and it was great to see Balinese Authenticity on display, unchanged by Tourism, and to take the time to appreciate it. The ride was 95% down hill, the views were amazing and community spirit was welcoming.
Our guide was a young man named Dewi and he was knowledgeable and friendly. His communication was excellent and he was extremely caring and considerate to both our mature age and lack of fitness - and accommodated us accordingly. (Not to mention neither of us had ridden a bike for over 35 years!).
Nothing was too much trouble, when we needed to slow down, walk the bike or have a rest and even when we fell off.
Ultimately I would highly recommend this activity. The price included Hotel pick up and drop off, Breakfast, morning tea and lunch and the Safety and comfort of guests is their priority.
A truly unique experience and a thoroughly enjoyable day!
I would definitely encourage others to do this trip to experience the serenity and to support the local village.
10/10!!!

Review Body: Myself and a friend really enjoyed this experience! We started the day being picked up by our driver at 8:15 and headed off to our first stop which was great breakfast with Bali coffee overlooking the rice fields- a delightful view. We got some nice photos before driving to pick up our bikes. If you are a nature enthusiast like I am, you will be thrilled to bits with the bike ride, which took us through some of the most stunning nature and scenery I have ever seen. Greenery as far as the eye can see, and animals galore. To note, 90% of the route is downhill, so even if you are not so confident with cycling for that long it feels easy breezy. We made a few little stops for delicious food, photos and experiences such as a traditional Balinese house and a local temple. Our guide Jack was enthusiastic about his craft and knowledgeable to boot. Since we really enjoy cycling and nature we took more off road trails which were bumpy but so fun! We ended the day with lunch before being driven back to our hotel. Would recommend this to anyone who wants to get a taste of a more authentic Bali.

Review Body: This was an amazing bike trip which we highly recommend. It was basically downhill the whole time with such interesting stops along the way. I Gede E. was an excellent guide and our end rider (I am sorry I don’t know his name) were both very attentive and responsive to the ability and needs of our group of 5 riders. What I really liked about this particular trip was the authenticity of the experience. We were way up in the jungle riding in remote locations and saw the authentic Bali. We were given the choice of staying on the main road or going off road a number of times. If you have the ability on the bike I highly recommend the “off road” experience. We went through farms and rice paddies where the Balinese people were working and living. It was an amazing experience! The breakfast and lunch at Greenkubu restaurant was also delicious and actually in the middle of a rice field. Our driver I Gede P. Was also a hoot and we laughed most of the drive. We were so glad that we found this company after a significant research to find the least commercial experience.

Review Body: Highly recommend! This was so much fun, and also very informative. The tour was perfect for a solo traveler, which is a huge advantage.
We visited a local family, and learned about their way of living. Also visited fireflies preservation lab, and learned why "bringing back the light" is important.
Cycling was not very difficult, as the description mentioned, it was mostly downhills. We were jokingly calling it gliding.
Breakfast before we start, coffee break with local sweets at fireflies lab and then lunch were all included and delicious.
Greenbike Adventure well done! Darma, our guide was incredibly helpful and informative. Many stories about the way of living of Balinese were accompanies by stories of his personal experiences and even videos of some ceremonies that he had mentioned.
Huge thanks to Komang Geo who who was the "closing" rider, making sure the last one (me!). had all the assistance and was not left behind. Also was helping with traffic.
Agugng was an amazing driver who was the driver from Canggu to Ubud and back.

Review Body: Amazing Cycling Experience – A Must Do!
We’ve just come back from the Green Bike Adventure cycling tour, and we can honestly say it’s one of the best cycling experiences we’ve ever had.
The whole trip was incredibly calming, relaxing, and peaceful, with stunning scenery throughout. Much of the ride takes you beneath beautiful jungle canopy, which made it feel even more special.
The guides were fantastic—so kind, patient, and attentive the entire time. The bikes were very well maintained, and we were given mountain bikes, which were perfect for the occasional uneven or slightly off-road sections.
One of the best parts is that almost all of the cycling is downhill, so it requires very little effort—ideal for all fitness levels.
We made a lovely stop for coffee in a firefly conservation area, which was a unique touch, and finished the trip with a delicious meal at a beautiful restaurant, including a dessert and soft drink.
All in all, it was an incredible experience and one we would highly recommend to anyone visiting the area.

Review Body: I just returned from my bike tour with Green Bike Adventure, and I can honestly say it was the highlight of my stay in Ubud. Our guide, Darma, and the rest of the team created a truly unforgettable experience.
Everything was exceptionally well organized, and the route itself was incredible and wonderfully diverse. You hardly notice how long you’re cycling because most of the route is downhill. Whenever there was a rough patch or a climb ahead, Darma always gave us a heads-up, which was very reassuring and helpful.
The team also paid attention to the little details: we received water at the start of the tour and a refreshing wet towel at the end. The lunch was also of good quality (much better than on other tours I’ve tried) and served in a stunning location.
Throughout the day, we saw so many amazing places and learned a great deal about Balinese life and culture from Darma. He was incredibly patient, knowledgeable, and open, happily answering all of our many questions. Overall, 5/5!

Review Body: This was one of the first activities we did upon our arrival in Bali and it surely did not disappoint. We received a prompt pickup at our hotel by staff and had an opportunity to eat before starting the tour. Our stops included a Balinese family compound where we learned about Balinese traditions and rituals, a serene rice field, a firefly sanctuary, a coffee plantation, and a few quick picture ops scattered in between. We ended the afternoon with a delicious lunch before getting dropped back off at our hotel. Biking was almost all downhill and we went at a steady pace. Staff made sure we were comfortable through every step of the way. We can’t thank Made and Yoga for helping us have the warmest welcome to the area and for answering all our questions along the way. They also were very mindful of environmental footprint and the local community. If you are looking for an an active introduction to the area, I couldn’t recommend Greenbike Adventure enough!

Review Body: Me and my friends were personally not big on cycling, but we decided to give this tour a chance as we wanted to explore Ubud from a different perspective. It was a relatively simple ride, lots of down hills (so your hands do get sore from holding onto the brakes constantly), some opportunities for offroad or safer riding — yes — butt does get sore after the trip :)
We enjoyed the views, exploring local streets, stopping at paddy fields and temple, quite a sight you won’t be able to see from just walking or passing by in a car. There are 2 guides with us, one in front one at the back to make sure we were safe. and he took LOTS of great photos and videos for us!
A simple western breakfast was provided, some pandan pancakes during a short break, and wonderful indonesian lunch at a restaurant surrounded by greens.
Highly recommended if you have half a day to explore Ubud and looking for something different:)

Got to see the 2nd largest temple in bali & also cycled through the lush rice terrances! really enjoyed this tour! defo would recommend! We also had 3 kids on us & the tour guides were lovely & amazing! one of them ended up cycling our 7yr old as her fingers couldn’t reach the brakes! the lunch at the end though was the best balinese food i’ve had the entire trip here!
highly recommended! was honestly the highlight of my trip to bali!

Review Body: Loved this tour! The driver picked me up at my Homestay and I joined two other people who were already in the van. We drove to the breakfast place, which was located on a ridge overlooking beautiful rice fields. The kitchen wasn’t quite ready yet but after a short wait, we had coffee and breakfast before driving to our starting point to pick up our bikes. We were provided hybrid bikes (road/mountain bikes), helmets, and a bottle of water. The ride was great, riding roads and paths through farm country, villages, and rice fields. We stopped at a farm for a tour of the family house, then the firefly research camp for a snack, then at the temple that is located at the center of Bali, then ended with a buffet lunch at around 2 pm at a restaurant. The bike ride was mostly downhill so it was an easy, lovely ride. I loved every minute!

Review Body: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Absolutely one of the highlights of our Bali trip!
Our day with GreenBike Adventure was unforgettable. From the moment we arrived, everything was perfectly organized. We started with a delicious breakfast, which was a great way to get fuelled up before heading out on the ride.
Our guides, Ben and Arizona, were fantastic. They were friendly and full of knowledge about Bali. Along the ride they shared so many interesting insights about Bolognese culture , daily life , traditions in the local communities. It felt like we were getting a true behind-the-scenes look at Bali, not just a tour.
The scenery was beautiful and the experience felt very authentic.
If you are visiting Bali, don’t miss this tour. It’s the perfect mix of adventure, culture, and fun. Huge thanks to Ben and Arizona for making it such a memorable day!

Review Body: I loved EVERY minute of this mountain bike tour. Our 2 guides were fantastic. It was just me (from Canada) and another woman from Australia and our 2 guides.
The coffee and tea sampling was so fun and tasty and informative!! Also the visit to an authentic Balinese family home was really enjoyable and I learned that a Balinese home is NEVER for sale, because it wants to be kept in the family lineage for many generations.
It started raining, so we got our rain gear on, but we still got drenched and I STILL loved every moment of the ride.
The off road bit was a FUN challenge and overall it was not a difficult ride, mostly downhill as advertised.
I would do it all again tomorrow 😆 but I am busy with other activities.
I felt ALIVE and JOYFUL the entire time.
I highly recommend this tour!! 👌🏼

Review Body: Joined as a solo traveller with another friendly Korean couple and Gedeh was our guide. Felt very safe throughout the whole journey as Gedeh was leading from the front, and there was another guide at the back to ensure that no one gets behind him. Mountain bikes were good to tackle both road and off road terrains. Went through villages, local’s house, farms, fire fly sanctuary, rice fields - so beautiful and peaceful!! Cycling wasn’t tiring at all for me as it was all downslope with occasional uphills.
Breakfast/ lunch restaurant was great too. Gedeh spoke fluent English, and we all shared a little bit of our own cultures and countries, much like a cultural exchange.
Very well organised tour, truly enjoyed myself, no regrets doing this on my solo trip in Bali Ubud. Highly recommended!

Review Body: We had a fantastic day biking in Bali with Greenbike Adventure! From the time that we were picked up to the moment that we were dropped back off, the day was such a fantastic adventure. Our guide, Gede, was incredible. So kind, knowledgeable, patient, and accommodating. He never rushed us, answered every question we had, and truly wanted our experience to be special and meaningful. We are a family of 4 with 2 daughters (11 & 15). The biking was mostly downhill and not too strenuous - which was good for our 11 year old. The sights are amazing. We were biking through traditional Balinese towns, seeing how people live and work and worship. The rice terraces and paddies are so fun to see. We loved every moment of the day and we are so glad that we booked this tour. Highly, highly recommended!!

Review Body: This was definitely one of the top things we did during our 12-day vacation in Bali! The bike tour itself was very informative and allowed us to better understand the culture and lifestyle of the Balinese people. We felt privileged to get to visit a family's compound. There were lots of stops and different options during the tour - we opted to add on a coffee plantation tasting, which was a really nice break from riding/the heat. We also loved the Greenkubu restaurant and gardens, where we had both breakfast and lunch. The food was outstanding and the view could not be beat. We felt like just the meals themselves were well worth the price of the tour, but of course, we got to bike as well! I cannot recommend this tour enough. It was a great way to spend a day in Bali.

Review Body: We had a wonderful time on our cycle! Our guide, Gaday, was so knowledgeable and friendly and made sure we were looked after throughout the ride! Breakfast and lunch were also delicious and a really great opportunity to get to know our fellow cyclists (we were a two who joined with two other solo bikers to make a group of 4)
The student intern who was riding with us was so cheerful and had great knowledge and great to chat to as we cycled along. Very easy, 90% downhill ride on good bikes with just the right amount of thrill! We saw temples, Balinese villages and a house and learnt a lot about the local cultures. Riding through the rice fields is the best way to see them and I would recommend this tour to anyone visiting Bali. Thank you for such a wonderful time!

Review Body: We had the best time during this cycling trip and would highly recommend it to everyone around the Ubud area who’s looking to engage with more local traditional Balinese culture. Our guide took us along on what was a mostly downhill cycling journey, which made the cycling part easy (especially for us Dutchies, but honestly if you are somewhat capable of cycling you van easily do this). We were invited into a local home and learnt about culture and traditions. We also visited a coffee plantation, rice fields, a firefly research centre and rice fields. Some of which were optional but our guide did not hesitate to show us all the spots (at no extra cost!). On top of this all, breakfast, lunch and a two way transfer were included. We had the most amazing time.

Review Body: This was such a fun tour and a great way to see the beautiful countryside of Ubud away from the hustle and bustle of the city center! We biked through the jungle and past villages, rice fields, temples, and traditional Balinese homes. I’m probably spelling their names wrong but our guides, Gidai and Somar, were so nice and friendly and shared a lot with us about Balinese culture. The food at breakfast and lunch was delicious and they were able to accommodate me as a vegetarian. The only thing I’ll say is that a lot of it is downhill so it’s easy to pick up speed, and some parts of the road are narrow or bumpy, so just something to keep in mind if you’re a timid biker like me :p but definitely a great tour and a great way to spend your morning in Ubud :)

Review Body: I enjoyed the bike ride & the breakfast & lunch included in the tour was a full meal which I appreciated. I wished there were more photo opportunities. I didn’t get any photos cycling into the forest nor along the route. The only photo stops were the ones at the temple and in the middle of the rice fields.
We were only asked once whether we wanted to go off road (not multiple times like some other reviews). Took the off road and it was more challenging than I thought but I enjoyed it anyway.
As someone who leaned about the rice fields in Geography syllabus , I wished the guide gave us a more complete narration of rice planting in Bali. But it was overall a good tour, although a tad short on distance. Appreciated that it was mostly downhill.

See the real Bali and visit a zero-waste village
If you want an Ubud bike tour that feels local, not touristy, this is it. Instead of rushing between the usual photo stops, you’ll ride through quiet village roads, farms and jungle trails, with stops to meet local families and visit a zero-waste village project. It’s a great fit for curious travellers who want a gentle ride, real cultural connection, and a side of Bali that most bike tours miss. What makes this special is how grounded it feels. You’ll visit a Balinese family home, stop for coffee at a family-run sustainability project, and see Bali’s second oldest temple in a much quieter setting than the usual tourist circuit. It’s less about ticking off sights and more about understanding how people live, work and care for their community. It’s also beginner-friendly without being boring. The route is 90% downhill, so you don’t need to be a serious cyclist to enjoy it. If the group has mixed abilities, it can split based on pace, so stronger riders can still get a more adventurous off-road feel. Two guides ride with you throughout, which means more support, more flexibility, and plenty of great photos along the way. What to ExpectMostly downhill cycling through peaceful villages, rice paddies, jungle backroads and countryside trailsStops at a local Balinese home to learn about daily village lifeVisit to a family-run zero-waste village project, with a coffee break thereA chance to see Bali’s second oldest temple, away from the usual crowdsSimple breakfast, fresh pandan pancakes, and an Indonesian buffet lunch in a green settingTwo guides on the ride for safety, support and photosReturn transport included from Ubud, Sanur, Denpasar, Kuta, Seminyak, Jimbaran and Nusa DuaGood to KnowTandem bike available - let us know in the booking formTour lasts around 7 hours, including transport and all food & drinkMostly downhill, suitable for beginners—though your hands might get a bit sore from the brakes!Includes return transport from Ubud, Sanur, Denpasar, Kuta, Seminyak, Jimbaran & Nusa DuaAll equipment provided: mountain bike, helmet, rain poncho (if needed), and bottled waterThis is a join-in group tour and perfect for solo travellers, friends, or families with older kidsWe are using manual bike

Nyoman started with a simple idea: create something that helps his local community while giving visitors a real taste of Bali. A keen cyclist himself, he saw bike tours as a way to show people the quieter, lesser-known side of the island. What makes him stand out is how much he cares—he built the business to offer locals job opportunities and a space to practise their English. Over the years, he’s grown the company thoughtfully, teaming up with other like-minded locals who want to keep Bali beautiful for everyone.
