Review Body: We recently had the honour of visiting the Batang Ai Iban Longhouse with the amazing guide Mas. Our trip was truly memorable. Mas was so friendly, helpful and generous, and shared so much local knowledge with us. On the way we stopped at the semenggoh nature reserve to see orangutans, visited local markets and ate delicious food. Then our time at the longhouse was really special, truly immersed in the local way of life. Sometimes these things can feel like tourist traps but this was not the case, it felt really genuine. The families were so kind and generous with their time, they cooked us amazing food and showed us their way of life, including a walk in the jungle to see rubber plants and many native foods. Tips for others would be to bring plenty of cash, for the market stalls along the way and for the beautiful handmade jewellery that some of the women in the longhouse make. And bring long pants or insect repellent for the jungle walk 😊 This trip is something we will be talking about for a long time and I would 100% recommend this tour to anyone wanting a unique experience!

Review Body: Very knowledgable and patient guide Musa. Punctual and accomodating. The local Iban people were very pleasant, welcoming and hospitable. The accomodation while basic was tidy and spacious. Would definitely recommend bringing gifts that can be split between various families residing in longhouse and be prepared for very basic amenities. But lovely to experience a day in the life of an authentic asian villlage. We shared in luak and rice wine and had a great time sharing instruments and dancing the traditional iban style :) would recommend for those who are not afraid of roughing it a little bit.

Review Body: I went on the Bako National Park tour with Ooo Haa and it was such a great day out and my favourite experience in Kuching. Mr Foo and our driver Mr Jacky were great at spotting monkeys in the trees, and while we were watching, they would go scout ahead to bring us to where other animals were - if you love animals then this will be a really enjoyable tour for you. They also showed us a lot of native plants and trees and explained their uses. Lunch was also pretty good (I never expect much on guided tours) and they allowed us to order from the menu rather than eating from the buffet that had been sitting out. After lunch we went on a more difficult trek (my favourite part) which then led out to a beautiful cove where we got picked up by the boat. A perfect place for swimming after a difficult hike if it weren't for the crocodiles! I did not have a choice of which company to book with to go to Bako (other websites did not allow booking 1 pax), but it didn't matter in the end as the tour was fantastic and I would not hesitate to book again if I was in Kuching.

Review Body: My daughter and I had an incredible experience on this tour! Boarding a small boat, we cruised to the mouth of the Salak River and were thrilled to spot the Irrawaddy dolphins, saw a crocodile and couple of monkeys along the mangroves. Our boatman then stopped near Bird Island, allowing us to observe the stunning sea birds before proceeding to Satang Island. The journey to Satang Island across the South China Sea was breathtaking. The island is home to a turtle conservation project. We were fascinated to learn about the conservation efforts for Green Turtles and their eggs that are laid on the island. Visiting the hatchery provided us with a deeper understanding of the crucial conservation work being done. We spent the remainder of our time relaxing on the island's pristine white sandy beach, kids building sandcastles and playing on the beach, as well as snorkeling in the water. Overall, this tour was a perfect blend of adventure, education, and relaxation. Highly recommended for nature lovers and anyone looking for a unique and memorable experience!

Review Body: Ooo Haa’s experience as a park ranger really made a difference. He knew where to look for the wildlife and was also familiar with the trees and fauna so we were able to appreciate the texture of the park in a short amount of time. My only regret is not having more time - on these types of tours you are mostly seeking the wildlife and learning about the more predominant plant life - and I would have liked to hike the trails and see the landscape of the park which looks to be so beautiful. I mentioned this to Ooh Haa and he was really great - he told me that if I came back the next day or was able to get a spot to stay in the park overnight that he would guide me through the trails. That was very cool of him. It’s very obvious that he is loves his work, the park and the land. Also I was not sure I’d like the local lunch but honestly it was really good!!!! I was impressed overall.

Review Body: We took this excellent tour on 7th February 2023, tour guide Mr. Joseph was very informative , jovial and flexible. We were picked from our hotel and this tour takes around 4 to 5 hours to explore the wetland and wildlife in Sarawak. Our boat Captain Mr. Wan Amin is a very knowledgeable man, he shared a lot of information about the habitat at the wildlife. We were so lucky to see the dolphins but just for a few seconds. Captain also patiently waited for dusk to fall and showed us the crocodiles and a few reflection of some crocodiles red eyes. Probocis monkeys too were spotted in the trees. We did see fireflies as well. Overall i highly recommend this tour for those who love nature. Not forgetting to mention Mr. David and his team are very attentive and responsive to any enquiry. Highly recommend you to book with Ooh Haa Travels. Thumbs up to all of you.

Review Body: The guide, Mr. Foo, provided excellent service and ensure we had an enjoyable trip. He communicated fluently in both Mandarin and English and shared many interesting facts about the local wildlife and natural environment. Before the tour began, he thoughtfully reminded us to bring sunscreen and mosquito repellent, which was greatly appreciated. Captain Amin was highly experienced and very familiar with the area. Thanks to his expertise, we were able to spot numerous Irrawaddy dolphins, crocodile, and proboscis monkeys during the tour. The boat ride was smooth and enjoyable, and we felt comfortable and safe throughout the journey. The captain always emphasized safety and reminded us to be cautious, demonstrating that he put the well-being of his passengers as his top priority.

Review Body: Top experience with a really good guide Deng (I think his name was) who was very informative & able to locate animals before any other guides. Even walking from the jetty to the main building he listened, smelt and identified fresh footprints thst led to wild pigs,plus 2 vipers (sleeping fortunately). We did a 1.5km nature walk to a beach & back and it was during that walk where most of the monkeys were located. In all we saw probiscus monkeys, a family of long tailed macaques, 2 families of silver tailed monkeys,a flying lemur, lizard, so really fortunate . All arrangements worked well - hotel pickup & roof; boat trip, buffet lunch & admin adding me as a solo traveller last minute to an existing group. Definitely recommend!

Review Body: This tour is an eye opener for us as we get to see nature & its habitat at its best. We saw crocodiles 🐊 swimming near the shoreline, proboscis monkeys in their swamp habitat, we rescued a male turtle 🐢 who look weak, saw irrawaddy dolphins 🐬 popping their heads out of water ever so often. Our guide was very knowledgeable in turtle 🐢 nature conservation. He imparted a great deal of knowledge to use on turtle 🐢 conservation on the Pulau Satang Besar nature park. Overall it was great trip and we enjoyed it tremendously with our fellow boat occupants. All thanks to our guide & boat 🚤 captain from Ooo Haa.

Review Body: Bako National Park is a must see. You feel far away from the real world. The sounds of the forest are magical and we were lucky enough to see (even if a bit distant because at the top of the trees) 2 groups of proboscis monkeys. We then saw the wild pigs, very nice! We ate in the lunch area, delicious! The guide was very good and attentive to show us everything and look for the monkeys. The weather was nice, no rain and not even as muggy as described by the guide about the previous days. Highly recommended excursion! It was definitely worth it!

Review Body: I just did the Bako tour in May 2026 and it was one of the best days of my life!!! Dan, the guide at the park was excellent and shared tons of information with us / replied to all questions and even made suggestions about other places in Borneo to visit and enjoy wildlife. We were extremely lucky (and extremely thankful to Dan) and we got to see Flying lemurs, langur, proboscis monkeys, wild pigs and even a green viper!!! I could not recommend this tour enough!!! Communication, transportation and food were great too!!

Review Body: We had such a great time on our day tour of Bako NP. Our guide was absolutely amazing - Mr. Malindo. He shared so much information about Bako, wildlife, the forest and Malay culture. We were lucky enough to see lots of wildlife - Proboscis Monkeys, Silver leaf monkeys, long tailed macaques, wild boar w babies, flying lemur!, monitor lizards, viper, a sea snake, different kinds of crabs, mudskippers, fish and our first stick insect! I highly recommend this tour. Lunch was very tasty too.

Review Body: Our main reason for taking the trip was to see the wildlife in the mangroves and on Satang island. The local boatman was excellent at spotting them in the vegetation. We saw 2 crocodiles, a couple of dolphins, the turtle nesting area, and a variety of fish. Like all wild activities it is a rustic experience and a lot is dependent on the weather and tides etc., but it is very worthwhile . The boatman was very knowledgeable and answered all our questions. Review Body: Very knowledgeable and attentive guide who made sure our small group felt comfortable and safe at all times. He made sure we would see as much wildlife as possible (today was so hot the monkeys didn't want to show up!) and we got to see a flying lemur resting on his tree, some snakes, he explained about plants. Very nice :) it seems like it would have been worth spending the night. The landscape and hikes in themselves were very nice and well maintained.

Review Body: This activity is really amazing. The tour company respects the wildlife. We managed to see dolphins, crocodiles, crabs and visited Pulau pahat where all the migratory birds will visit. Afterwards, we went to Pulau Satang for snorkeling and lunch. The island is also known for its turtle conservation efforts. They are managed by Sarawak Forestry and it’s interesting to know how they help the turtles.

Itinerary Description: 8:00 am - Depart hotel for Batang Ai Iban Longhouse, Nanga Mengkak Longhouse. First, we will stop at Semenggoh Orang Utan Rehabilitation Centre. After visiting the orangutans, we will continue the journey through rural Sarawak, passing pepper gardens, cocoa and rubber plantation, rice fields and oil palm groves. A few stops will be made along the way. Visit the colourful native market in Serian town, where a variety of jungle produce such as edible ferns, bamboo shoots and unusual tropical fruit are on display. Visit a pepper garden. Lunch en route. A native longboat awaits you at the river for 1-hour boat journey through the tropical rain forest to reach the longhouse, home of the Iban tribe. Relax on the ruai (common verandah) and spend time with the Iban people. After dinner, we have a cultural dance or warrior dance(Ngajat) from Iban people, learn about their culture and enjoy some local rice wine (Tuak and Langkau). Overnight stay at a longhouse
