Review Body: An excellent peek into rural life in Indonesia. I was the only the only guest that day and rode with the guide and scooter support in the back. The ride was easy with a slow pace and lots of stops. We rode through small villages on quiet roads observing daily life. We stopped at a few different fields to watch the locals plant rice or harvest peanuts with the guide providing lots of information. We also stopped at a local market with the guide providing information about the various items for sale. Overall it was a very pleasant and educational way to spend half a day and I highly recommend this bike tour.

Review Body: What an amazing way to spend a few hours in rural Yogyakarta. Thank you for a truly beautiful morning. A peaceful, easy, gentle ride through rice paddies and local villages, meeting friendly locals and trying local coffee and snacks. We really enjoyed the stop at the local market. Expertly led by our guide, two others also came along to ensure we could safely cross the roads (mostly quiet rural lanes with just a few roads to cross). We would absolutely recommend this trip to anyone looking to explore local life in Yogya, it felt like a real privilege to experience it - thank you.

Review Body: Absolutely lovely cycling tour around the village! Harung and his team took such good care of us throughout the ride. They were not only friendly and professional but also incredibly calm and chill, which made the whole experience feel relaxed and enjoyable. They even helped us take some great photos and videos along the way! We really appreciated how they went out of their way to show us the best parts of the village — the views were absolutely breathtaking, and the entire experience was so much fun. Highly recommended to anyone looking for an authentic and memorable tour!

Review Body: Great cycling tour in the local villages! We set off at 7am and came back at the meeting point at 9am. I felt really safe and well taken care of, and I thoroughly enjoyed the scenic paddy fields (rice, corn, chilli and lemongrass plantations). Hanung brought me to different farms/plantations, took many photos and even created 2 videos! Thank you Hanung for the tour!

Review Body: Great experience all round. We were lucky with the weather and our guides really made it so much fun. We had the opportunity to experience the countryside, the friendly town people, the rice making process, batik art close up and the morning market. We had support crossing bigger roads and navigating any bicycle challenges and it was a great family trip with teens.

Review Body: What an unforgettable experience! This was so much more than a cooking class. It was a wonderful journey into the local culture and traditions. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed by the kindest guides, who showed us around the beautiful village in such a relaxed and peaceful way. We learned about the local plants and ingredients, picked fresh eggplants straight from the garden, and even caught our own fish before preparing our meal. The cooking was truly authentic. Local women shared their passion, knowledge, and traditional cooking techniques with so much warmth and enthusiasm. They encouraged us to prepare every dish ourselves, making it a genuinely hands-on experience. We learned so much while enjoying the beautiful surroundings and the peaceful atmosphere. The food we made was absolutely delicious, and it tasted even better knowing we had prepared it ourselves with fresh local ingredients. As a lovely extra, we also visited the batik workshop, where our son created his own beautiful batik piece to take home as a souvenir. It was such a special and personal touch that made the day even more memorable. Everything about this experience was authentic, educational, relaxing, and incredibly enjoyable. I would do it again without hesitation and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a genuine cultural experience. Thank you for giving us such a wonderful day. These are memories we will cherish forever.

Review Body: If you think you know Batik, think again. A lesson in patience and perseverance, this rich cultural tradition is seen all over Yogyakarta. You’ll find shops and people displaying the most ornate designs on various fabrics - clothes, wares, frames. It wasn’t until actually trying the laborious and creative art form that we found a deep respect for the technique and skill required to make such beautiful pieces. That said, Hanung made the entry into this ancient practice inviting, engaging, playful, humorous and most importantly, FUN. Even for those artistically inclined, the level of complexity could be seen as overwhelming. However…our teachers ability to encourage, guide and demystify the process made for an incredibly personal experience. Hanung, Mr. Paul and the other artisans ensured that beginners could try their (steady) hand at bringing personality and customization into a piece of their own. This keepsake, along with individual videos of the process, commemorates an experience well worth the time and effort. Pro-tip: don’t rush it. They also offer astonishing pieces from local craftsman in the gallery up front. In retrospect, having learned from loyal ambassadors of the waning craft in such an intimate setting, we recognize the dedication to preserving the heritage that is Batik.

Review Body: I booked this experience for the same reason that seek Sophie was started.. I wanted an authentic and insightful look into local life.. all other tours of batik and similar , that I could find were more touristy and offered the same things on all other trip booking sites.. We were not disappointed...this experience gave us an excellent opportunity to learn the highly skilled work of the batik artists in a relaxed and welcoming environment..all of the staff were so friendly and helpful... the batik class was fantastic and the staff helped us FIX our poor efforts into something that we can actually display.. we did the cooking class also and the lady who did this with us was great and food fantastic. They send you a menu choice beforehand where you choose what to cook... we enjoyed coffee and some music by Karon... karon then took us a walking tour of the village, explaining its history culture and aspects of daily life for the local people..it was very informative...the owner of the business was Tatang and he was also very friendly and helpful.. If you are looking for a tour that gives a bit of everything for a day out and enjoy chilling and learning about local culture then choose this tour... great job guys, I hope you continue your excellent service... first class. ...

Review Body: We had a really great day learning batik and cooking traditional Indonesian dishes! We had the opportunity to draw our own pattern or choose one from the pre-made canvases, and then we were guided step by step through applying the wax and coloring the canvas. The process requires patience and is very relaxing if you're comfortable with being a beginner. :) Hanung and his students were welcoming and helpful, and the workshop was beautiful. We never felt rushed, which we really appreciated, especially since we took our time trying to do our best. Then we went to gather the ingredients for the dishes we had chosen to cook that day, picked vegetables from the garden, caught fish from the pond, and met our cooking teacher. We didn't share a common language, but one of Hanung's coworkers stayed with us throughout the lesson, explaining everything and translating for us. The food was delicious, and the whole experience was very enjoyable. It was a wonderful way to spend a day in Yogyakarta, in a quiet village surrounded by nature, while learning about local traditions. I warmly recommend this experience! We were also sent two short videos afterwards showing us learning batik and cooking. It was a thoughtful touch and will be a lovely memory!

Review Body: We had a great day doing the art class and the cooking class. In the morning we went there with a grab, the location is easy to find and from the city center it takes you around 20min to get there. The art class is great, people are very friendly and helpful. First they explain the process and help you with tips, then you can practise and if you feel ready you can do your art. It is really fun and turns out well even if you aren‘t an artist. The cooking class was great. The guide asked us in before about the menu and respected our wishes. We created a tasty indonesian meal with noodles, fish and tempeh. Normally I do not like fish too much but this one was perfect. Freshly caught and marinated with local spices, no fishy taste. The guide and also some artists speak good english. They even did a video of us documenting the process of our own art. What a great souvenier together with your own piece of art.

Review Body: We had an absolutely amazing day with Leksa Ganesha! We spent the whole day painting and cooking, and we loved every minute of it. What we especially appreciated was that we were given plenty of time to take everything at our own pace. There was no rush at all, which made the whole experience feel very relaxed and enjoyable. What made it even more special was that we actually got to do everything ourselves. We had the equipment in our own hands throughout the entire experience and only received verbal guidance when needed. This made it genuinely feel like we had created everything ourselves, rather than simply following someone who did it for us. It was such a fun, hands-on and authentic experience, and we would highly recommend Leksa Ganesha to anyone looking for something creative, local and memorable. We had a wonderful day!

Review Body: It was a fascinating day. It began with the batik workshop. I found that I was the only person doing batik that morning and that made it even better, I think, because several of the people working inside the workshop came to offer suggestions and advice on technique and to reassure me about my lack of artistry - that everything was possible in art - even what I was doing! They were all lovely. Then the cooking group from the morning shared their lunch with me (delicious) before I was taken on a tour of the village where we caught some fish that we brought back and cooked in my cooking class. Thanks to everyone- you were all marvellous and your work is fascinating. The batiks that I created were not as terrible as I thought ( thanks to a lot of help) and I bought one from the gallery that I think is truly wonderful.

Review Body: This was a big highlight of our trip in Yogyakarta! We had such a creative day! Hanung and the Leksa Ganesha team were so welcoming, friendly and helpful to me and my husband. We made beautiful batik art, and we also cooked and ate very delicious Indonesian dishes. We even caught our own fish to eat when we were given a tour of the village to see the different foods that the community grows. We were given free mineral water, tea and coffee. We would highly recommend this experience and we would love to come back again in the future. We were there from 10am - 5pm, so you should allow a full day for this (perhaps 9am - 6pm) so you can take your time. Thank you Hanung and Leksa Ganesha for your hospitality!
