Mini loom weaving in Chiang Mai with a local artist in a soulful space
Weaving in Northern Thailand is more than a craft—it's a tradition. For centuries, local communities have used weaving to express cultural identity, create practical textiles, and pass down artistry through generations. Engaging in it connects you directly to the region’s rich artistic heritage. At this workshop, you’ll be guided by Rada, a passionate weaver and loom designer who has years of experience preserving and teaching this timeless art. With her warmth, patience, and deep expertise, she makes weaving approachable for everyone—whether it’s your very first time or you’re looking to deepen your craft. If you’ve ever been curious about weaving or love getting hands-on with traditional crafts, this is your chance to dive in and happily tangle yourself in colorful threads. Set in a beautiful, light-filled space tucked away in Chiang Mai’s Old City, this private mini loom weaving workshop is the perfect way to slow down, get creative, and make something meaningful with your own two hands.Over two calming hours, you’ll learn to work with a simple frame loom using naturally dyed yarns, guided step by step by Rada. It’s beginner-friendly, playful, and full of happy accidents—where every weave tells its own story! What makes it extra special? The space itself is full of soul: surrounded by art exhibitions, leafy courtyards, and a quiet little museum, every corner is thoughtfully designed and built with love. With a max of 12 people per session, it’s intimate and relaxed—just the way crafting should be.Perfect for friends, couples, or families with kids (yep, Rada is amazing with little ones too!), this isn’t just a workshop—it’s a moment of calm, a creative adventure, and a beautiful way to connect with Thai culture. 🧵💛What to ExpectEnjoy 2 hours of weaving in a cozy group where you’ll receive plenty of personal guidance while sharing the fun with others.Learn from warm, patient teachers who love helping you explore your creativity and celebrate happy accidents.Work with naturally dyed yarns that are gentle on the planet and beautiful to the touch.Take the mini loom home so your crafting journey can continue long after the workshop ends!Good to KnowMinimum of 2 people required to book. All materials are included, including your own frame loom to take home.Drinking water provided, but no food — best to grab a bite beforehand.Workshop takes place in Chiang Mai Old City — transport not included.Intermediate difficulty but very beginner-friendly with lots of guidance.

Meet your host
Achariyar and Araya Rojanapirom are a brother-sister duo whose work is deeply inspired by their childhood in a traditional Thai home. With both parents as architects, they grew up surrounded by thoughtful design and handmade details—especially Thai textiles, which their mum collected for over 30 years. Their passion for craft and culture now guides every project they take on, from restoring reclaimed teak buildings to curating community-led workshops and exhibitions. They collaborate closely with local artisans, not just to showcase their work but to help preserve traditional skills. Their approach reflects a quiet, consistent commitment to nurturing Thai heritage, creating spaces and experiences that are warm, welcoming, and respectful of people, culture, and the planet.
