Rare chance to see Cu Chi tunnels through the eyes of the local community.
Most people visit Cu Chi Tunnels as a quick half-day trip - crawl through a tunnel, take a few photos, and head back to Ho Chi Minh City. It's interesting but it's shallow. This experience takes you deeper. You experience Cu Chi with a family who lived through the war. Instead of just seeing the tunnels, you’ll hear first-hand stories of what life was like, and how the community rebuilt from a landscape so damaged that not even a single tree could grow. You’ll explore the tunnels with a guide whose family has deep roots here, then head above ground to see what Cu Chi looks like today. Cycle through quiet villages and farmland that were once bombed out, and get a glimpse of daily life that most visitors miss.Along the way, you’ll spend time with locals — including a village grandma who’ll show you how to make rice paper from scratch. Then cook and enjoy a simple, home-style meal together (yes, you’ll be making your own spring rolls). It’s a slower, more personal way to understand Cu Chi HighlightsExplore Cu Chi with a family who lived through the warHear personal stories you won’t find in museumsCycle through villages rebuilt from barren landLearn rice paper making from a local grandmaCook and enjoy a home-style Vietnamese mealGood to KnowThis itinerary includes a cycling section—children should be able to ride a bike confidently to joinWear comfortable shoes and clothing for cyclingBe prepared for a day of adventure and discoveryBring your camera to capture the unique moments

Nhung grew up in a small village near the Cu Chi Tunnels, a place once devastated by war but now thriving with rice fields, peanuts, and tropical fruits. Her connection to her hometown runs deep—her sisters were even born underground during the war. During the week, she manages large IT projects in Ho Chi Minh City, but every weekend, she returns home to enjoy the peaceful countryside. Wanting to share both the region’s rich history and everyday village life, she started welcoming visitors in 2022. She loves introducing people to the local community, where guests can explore farms, enjoy homegrown food, and experience rural life firsthand while also supporting the villagers.
