Meet your host

Ricky and Paulus founded Komodo Kayaking in 2023, driven by their close connection to Flores and its community. With backgrounds in outdoor guiding and marine tourism, they saw a chance to offer a different way to experience Komodo — slowly and respectfully, through kayaking. They focus on training local people, creating jobs, and sharing skills that can last. Their team is entirely made up of local residents who have received proper training and certifications. Beyond business, they work with local schools and organizations to spread knowledge about safety and environmental care. Their approach keeps things simple, mindful of the sea and community, making sure visitors enjoy the area in a gentle, meaningful way.
