Sail Komodo on a phinisi with a spacious rooftop deck & all sea view cabins
If you like the idea of a join-in Komodo liveaboard but don’t want to end up in a dark lower-deck cabin, this is the one to look at. All 6 cabins are on the main or upper deck, all are air-conditioned sea-view rooms with private bathrooms, and 2 cabins are shared, so solo travellers can join without paying for a full private room. With just 14 to 16 guests on board, it’s a more comfortable setup than many standard Komodo boats. You still cover the classic Komodo highlights like Turtle City, Manta Point, Taka Makassar, Padar, Pink Beach, Manjarite and Kelor. But it doesn’t feel like just a checklist route. The dragon trek is in Komodo Village with the local rangers, so you get a glimpse of a place where villagers live side by side with Komodo dragons, not just a quick wildlife stop.Pempeng Island adds a quieter beach break between the better-known sites, which helps balance out the busier stops. Back on board, the rooftop deck, sundeck and indoor dining area make the sailing time part of the trip too. This is a good fit if you want the classic 3D2N Komodo route, but care about cabin comfort and a solo-friendly layout. What to Expect3D2N join-in Komodo sailing trip for 14 to 16 guests4 private cabins and 2 shared cabins; all cabins are on the main or upper deck with AC, sea views and private bathroomsSnorkeling at Siaba Island, Manta Point and Manjarite, with chances to see turtles, manta rays and healthy coral reefsSwim and relax at Taka Makassar, Pink Beach and the quieter shores of Pempeng IslandSunset hike at Padar and a shorter scenic hike at Kelor IslandGuided Komodo Village trek with certified local rangersKalong Island at sunset to watch flying foxes leave the mangrovesHotel or airport pick-up and drop-off, daily meals, snorkeling gear, towels, life jackets, guide, photo and video documentation, and Komodo National Park entrance fees includedGood to KnowThis is a join-in trip, so you’ll share the boat with other guestsA shared cabin option is available, which makes this especially handy for solo travellersThe itinerary may change based on weather and sea conditionsWildlife sightings are not guaranteedPadar is about a 40-minute hike with natural steps and moderate inclines; Kelor is shorter but still uphillYou should be comfortable with basic hiking, swimming and snorkelingFlights, personal expenses, crew tips and travel insurance are not includedReturn to Labuan Bajo is usually around 12:00 PM on the last day, but timing can shift with sea conditionsAmenities/facilities1 Master Room with Ocean View, Private Balcony & Private Ensuite Bathroom for up to 3 guests1 Deluxe Room with Ocean View, Private Balcony & Private Ensuite Bathroom for up to 3 guests2 Superior Room with Ocean View, Private Balcony & Private Ensuite Bathroom for up to 2 guests2 Shared Room with Ocean View & Shared Bathroom up to 3 guests per roomAir-con in every roomSundeck for relaxing, a rooftop deck for panoramic island views, and a comfortable indoor dining area for shared meals

Meet your host

Adel first visited Komodo in the early 2010s and immediately fell in love with its rich marine life. As a passionate diver, she saw an opportunity to build a life and business close to some of the world’s best dive spots. A few years later, she invited her sister Erli to join her, and together they’ve been growing the company with care and purpose. Each new boat they've built is named in memory of their late father, reflecting the deep family values that guide their work and their commitment to meaningful, authentic travel experiences.
